Thomas Yeaman
MACON, Ga. - Thomas J. Yeaman, 61, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001 at the Macon North Side Hospital in Macon.
Born Feb. 12, 1939 in Danville, he was the son of John B. Yeaman and Ellen Porter Yeaman.
He had lived in Richmond since finishing college and worked as head bookkeeper for Korman Furniture before retiring due to declining health. He lived with his sister in Macon for the past year and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three sisters, Nena Y. Fields of Petersburg, Dorothy Y. Hudgins of Danville, Va., Jean Y. Ventimiglia of Macon; one brother, N.A. "Pete" Yeaman of Danville, Va. and one foster brother, Arnold E. Porter of Virginia Beach.
He was predeceased, in addition to his parents, by one sister, Elizabeth Y. Dodson and three brothers, John B. Yeaman, Jr., Robert J. Yeaman and Herbert C. Yeaman.
The graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mountain View cemetery with the Rev. Gilmer Setliff officiating.
The family will receive friends at the residence of his sister, Dorothy Hudgins, 632 Ferry Road, Danville.

Nannie Barber
DANVILLE, Va. - Nannie Eunice Barber, 86, of 460 Gardner St., died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001, at Danville Regional Medical Center after a two-day hospital stay.
She was born Nov. 11, 1914, in Pittsylvania County.
She was married
to Harvey P. Barber, who predeceased her. She lived her life in the Danville and Pittsylvania County areas.
Survivors include one son, John Barber of Danville.
She was predeceased by one brother and two sisters.
Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete at this time.
Dottie Bradner
CHATHAM, Va. - Dottie Day Bradner, 47, of 1152 North Main St., Apt. No. 3C, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 2, 1953, she was the daughter of Samuel Lee Day and Barbara King Day who survive.
She was married
to George Bradner who survives. She was retired from American Furniture Company of Martinsville where she retired on disability. She was a member of Callands Baptist Church.
Survivors include three brothers, James Winfield Day, John Samuel Day, both of Chatham, and Timothy Wayne Day of Sutherlin Va.
She was predeceased by one sister, Barbara Darlene Day.
A funeral will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Callands Baptist Church with Rev. Obadele St. George. Interment
will follow in the church cemetery.

Marie Culley
SCOTTSBURG, Va. - Marie McSparran Culley, 77, of 1226 Red Level Church Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001, at Halifax Regional Hospital.
Born July 11, 1923, she was the daughter of James Graham McSparren and Maude Smith McSparren.
She was married
to John L. Culley Jr. who survives, and was a retired homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Greensboro, N.C.
A funeral will be held 2 p.m. at The Graveside with the Rev. Sam Russell Jr. officiating. Interment
will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, Greensboro, N.C.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Brooks Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
Maude Edmunds
GRETNA, Va. - Maude Williams Edmunds, 91, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001.
Born Jan. 31, 1910, in Pittsylvania County, she the daughter of Benjamin Williams and Mary Burton Williams.
She was married
to the late Alvin B. Edmunds. She taught school at Renan for twelve years and was a member and former Sunday School teacher at Greenfield Baptist Church.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, at Greenfield Baptist Church with the Rev. R.G. Rowland officiating. Interment
will follow at Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.

Michael Guy
DANVILLE, Va. - Michael Ray Guy, 43, of 686 Shelton St., died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001 at the Medical College of Richmond, Va.
Born March 8, 1957, in Pittsylvania County, Va., he was the son of Fitz Guy and Ruth Mayo Guy, both of whom survive.
Survivors include one daughter, Latashe Guy; two sons, Michael Guy Jr., Marcus Guy; two sisters, Joyce Guy Watkins, Clarice Coleman; four brothers, Jeffrey Guy, Harry Guy, Daryl Guy and Irvin Guy all of Danville.
A funeral will be held 2 p.m. Friday, at Rehoboth Apostolic Church with the Pastor Debra Ferrell officiating.

Gordon Hankins
DANVILLE, Va. - Gordon Allen Hankins, 45, of 641 Monument St., died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at Danville Regional Medical Center after several years of declining health.
Born March 31, 1955, in Danville, he was the son of Gordon Stewart Hankins and Doris Hutcherson Hankins who survive.
He was married
to Penny Lee Hanks Hankins who survives, on Sept. 19, 1994. He was a self employed carpenter. He attended Community Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Survivors in addition to his wife include, one son, Kirby W. Hankins of Danville, five daughters, Sharon A. Towler, Angel N. Hankins, Jenny L. Hankins, Chrissy M. Hankins, all of Danville, Stacy R. Nunleys, of Kentucky, and four grandchildren.
He was predeceased in death by two brothers and three sisters.
A funeral will be held, 2 p.m. Thursday at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Albert officiating. Interment
will follow at Hanks Family cemetery with graveside honors by American Legion Honor Guard Post 1097.

Junior Vaughan
SOUTH BOSTON, Va. - Junior Lewis Vaughan, 74, of 2902 Halifax Road, died Feb. 12, 2001, at Halifax Regional Hospital.
Born Jan. 20, 1927, he was the son of Robert Junior Vaughan and Susie Moore Vaughan.
He was married
to Catherine V. Vaughan and was a member and deacon of Seven Oaks Baptist Church. He was a member of Woodmen of World Camp No. 106 and veteran of World War II.
Survivors in addition to wife include one son, Steven J. Vaughan of South Boston; four brothers, Cecil N. Vaughan of South Boston, Charlie H. Vaughan, Elmer L. Vaughan, Bobby Vaughan, all of Halifax, Va.; one sister, Doris V. Garber of Halifax and four grandchildren.

John Johnson Sr.
NATHALLE, Va. - John Joseph Johnson Sr., 65, of 5123 Hunting Creek Road died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at his home.
Born Nov. 19, 1935, in Baltimore, Md, he was the son of Ruth Johnson.
He was married
to Patsy F. Johnson, and was a member of Hunting Creek Baptist Church. He was a member of Clover Lions Club and VFW Post 8243. He was a retired truck driver for Daystrom Furniture Inc. and served in the United States Army.
Survivors include his mother, Ruth Johnson, of Baltimore, Md.; two sons, John J. Johnson Jr. of Greensboro, N.C., Gerald F. Johnson, of Nathalie, Va.; two daughters, Janet E. Johnson, of Nathalie, Va., and Julie E. Johnson, of Roanoke, Va.; two sisters, Elanore Frizzell of Mt. Airy, Md., Orlie Meuller of Baltimore, Md.; two brothers, Walter Johnson of Mesa, Ariz., Milton Johnson of Long Beach, Calif., and three grandchildren.
A funeral will be held 2 p.m. at Hunting Creek Baptist Church on Saturday with the Rev. H.V. Conner and Rev. Melvin Bradshaw officiating. Interment
will follow at Hunting Creek Baptist Church cemetery.

Kenneth Lewis
BRONX, N.Y. - Kenneth Lisberg Lewis, formerly of Danville, Va., died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, after a brief illness.
Born Dec. 16, 1945, he was the son of Ollie and Samuel Lewis. He was educated in the public schools and was a graduate of John. M. Langston High School. He was a former member of the Camp Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include, two sisters, Sylvia Thompson, of Bronx, N.Y., Otelia Lewis of Bradenton, Fla., and one brother, Joseph Lewis, of New York.
A funeral will be held Friday, at Ransume Funeral Home in Bronx, N.Y., at 4418 White Plain Road.
