She was death by her husband, James C. Goad. She is survived by daughters & son-in-law Brenda Goad, Pulaski, Betty & Jerry Anderson, Goldsboro, NC; sons & daughters-in-law James W. Goad, Radford, John & Vicky Goad, Pulaski, Roger & Juanita Goad, Germany, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild.Cemetery, Draper. PULASKI - Catherine LaFerne McDaniel Killen known as Hillclimber and Maw, 67, of 45 5th Street N.E., Pulaski born in Dublin on July 16, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Paul W. Cox of Elliston; a son, William Preston Beamer, Jr. of Radford; five grandchildren; and three sisters, Gilda Williams of Radford, and Gaynell Wright and Dotie Showalter, both of Hiwassee. Mr. Gianopoulos owned and operated, along with his sister-in-law, Stella Pappas, the Hercules Cafe at 85 W. Main St. in Pulaski, for 43 years until his retirement. He was a friendly gentleman who always had concern for his many customers. Even after his retirement, he could be seen walking the streets of Pulaski greeting people with a warm smile. He is survived by his wife, Soula Avgeris Gianopoulos, three sons, John Gianopoulos and his wife Marge of Newburgh, Indiana, Jimmy Gianopoulos and his wife Kelly of Mooresville, N. C. and Phillip Gianopoulos and his wife Jackee of Pulaski; three sisters, Koula Pavlos of Greece, Loula Sialmas of Beacon, N. Y. and Helen Anemelos of Poughkeepsie, N. Y.; four grandchildren, Michael, A. J., Sarah and Elias. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Thomas M. Seagle and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Nastos officiating. Cemetery. DUBLIN - George Marvin Collins, 76, of Dublin, death by his parents, George W. and Bessie H. Collins. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Army. He was a retired 30 year employee of the Department of Corrections. He was a member of the Dublin United Methodist Church and attended the First United Methodist Church in Pulaski. Surviving are: his wife, Nancy Morehead Collins, Dublin; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and David Clark, Pulaski; daughter, Lisa Kaye Collins, Radford; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Eva Collins, Abingdon; five grandchildren, Gabrielle Collins, Maddie and Evan Clark, Kevin Collins and Christy Herndon along with four great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, at the First United Methodist Church, Pulaski, with Rev. Charles Lockerby officiating. passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday, July 14, 2003 at his home. death by two sisters, Elma Owens and Jeston Rakes, and one son-in-law, Charles Thomas Foley. Elder Rakes became a member of the Wilson’s Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Snowville, Va. in April 1953. He was ordained as an Elder on July 31, 1976. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II. Surviving are: his loving wife of 62 years, Violet Gay Mabry Rakes, Dublin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Sidney Roger Rakes and wife, Mary, Reva, Va., Randy Cecil Rakes and wife, Susan, Pulaski; three daughters and son-in-law, Evelyn Rakes Foley, Hixson, Tenn., Carolyn Rakes Johnston and husband, Douglas Johnson, Sr., Radford, Mary Rakes Myers, Dublin; seven grandchildren, Kevin Rakes, Donald Rakes, Angie Goad, Douglas Johnston, Jr., Lori Kessinger, Matt Rakes and Emily Myers; six great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph M.
