ALEXANDRIA - Thomas Glen Tate, age 48 of Alexandria, Va. formerly of Pulaski died Sunday Morning September 7, 2003 at her residence. death by her husband Leo Reginald Umberger, and one son, Wallace Joseph Umberger. She is survived by two sons; Gary R. Umberger of Draper and Phillip A. Umberger of Pulaski: one daughter; Janice U. Craig of Pulaski. Also survived by five grandchildren: Stephen Craig, Heather Dunnigan, Matt Henley, Mark Umberger, and Amy Umberger and one great grandchild: Daniel Andrew Umberger. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev. Vickie Houk officiating. born on Feb. 3, 1942, the daughter of the late Frances Johnson. She was preceded in Cemetery. The family received friends from 2 p.m. until time of service at Randolph Avenue Methodist Church.

ELSIE QUESENBERRY (TENA) SMITH
DUGSPUR - Elsie Quesenberry (Tena) Smith, age 72 from Dugspur funeral service will be held at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ed Lanning and Rev. J. Alfred Pinkerton officiating. Burial will follow at the Smith died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, in the Pulaski Community Hospital. He was death by his step-mother, Ann Adamek Leonard. Mr. Leonard was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Surviving are: his mother, Alma Marie Bach Bonetti, Las Vegas; sisters, Lauren Branscome, Draper, Dottie Sutphin, Pulaski, Deanna Jenkins, Alamo, Nev.; brother, William Young, Las Vegas; several nieces and nephews; special loved ones, Kylene and Brian Barrett.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Pastor Terri Sternberg officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home.

KATHLEEN JUNE CRIGLER MILLER
FAIRLAWN - Kathleen June Crigler Miller, died on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003. She was the daughter of the late James Henry Crigler and Jennie Mae Jorden Crigler Kirschner, and her beloved step-father, Henry Earnst Kirschner. She came to Pulaski in 1946 with her husband, Winston E. Miller, who preceded her in death by two half-brothers, Jasper Kirschner and James Crigler.
Surviving are: her half-brothers, Henry E. Kirschner, Kansas City, Mo., Richard M. Kirschner, Houston, Texas; half-sister, Karen Kay Crigler Nelson, Tigard, Ore.; several nieces and nephews; sons and daughters-in-law, Eric Miller, Lynchburg, Mike and Shirley Miller, Newbern, Steve and Sharon Miller, Lakeland, Fla., Thomas and Lisa Miller, Riner; grandchildren, Brian Rupe, Pulaski, Matthew and Jessica Miller, Nashville, Tenn., Andrew Miller, San Diego, Calif., Laurel Lynn Miller, Riner.
June was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pulaski and a sixty-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star as well as a charter member of the Pulaski Chapter. She was a member of the National Federation of Garden Clubs and a nationally recognized flower show judge and landscape critic along with being a Virginia Master Gardener. Professionally, Mrs. Miller was a member of the Professional Secretaries International where she was selected as Secretary of the Year and was active in the Pulaski Woman’s Club. She had over ten years experience with the Federal Government prior to becoming secretary to the Director of the Learning Resource Center at New River Community College. June and her late husband, Winston, made valuable contributions to the initial landscape design at New River Community College.
Funeral services will be held at Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. with services to be conducted by Dr. Randy Frye and Dr. C. R. Conner. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visitation will be Tuesday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. followed by an Eastern Star Service, which the public is invited to attend. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Pulaski.

PULASKI - Cecil Ida Roop Simpson, age 87 of 3890 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski, Born April 19, 1916 in Montgomery County, Va. she was the daughter of the late James Edward Roop and Sue Mae Tolbert Roop. One son, Paul Chambers Simpson, Jr., also preceded her in Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bobwhite Blvd., Pulaski.
