ARLENE FULTON MOLES
CHRISTIANSBURG - Arlene Fulton Moles, 67, of Christiansburg, born Aug. 3, 1936 in Detroit, Mich., and was the daughter of the late Alexander and Florence Blackburn Fulton. She was also preceded in passed away Monday, January 5, 2004 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was a retired employee of Canteen Vending with over 32 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Betty Duncan Ritter; two sons, Douglas Ritter, Jr. of Radford and Isaac of Perryville, KY; one daughter, Peggy Garcia of Greensboro, NC; three sisters, Elizabeth Bowden, Margaret Ritter and Eula Miller, all of Radford; 6 grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 8, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with the Rev. Cecil Albano and Rev. Ronald Duncan officiating. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Pulaski County Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
FRANKLIN LEE COLE
HIWASSEE - Franklin Lee Cole, age 81 of 2991 Duncan Hill Road, Hiwassee Born June 2, 1922, he was the son of the late Frank William Cole and Rosella Phillips Cole, a grandson, Jonathan Neil Cole, also preceded him in Cemetery, Hiwassee with minister Perry Duncan officiating where passed away on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004 in the Waddell Nursing Home, Galax. She was death by her beloved husband, Charlie Sidney Walters, her sister, Kathleen G. Grinnell and brother James Edgar Gilman and a foster sister, Mrs. Ollie G. Williams.
Lillian and Charlie Walters are most remembered for the unselfish love both of them gave to all and for managing Piggly Wiggly in Pulaski for many, many years. Also, Lillian is remembered for being the longest living member of the First Christian Church in Pulaski, until her funeral service at 2 p.m., with Rev. Randy Winn officiating. Burial will follow in the Galilee Christian Church passed away suddenly at his home Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003. Bobby D. was cemetery is completed. Known to his military buddies as "Bobby D." he served his country for 20 years as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician, in the Navy. Chief Torpedoman's Mate, Bobby D. was an icon in the Navy EOD field as he was highly respected for his technical skills and his leadership as an instructor at the Navy School of EOD Indian Head, MD.
After retiring from the Navy, Bobby D. worked 10 years in Maryland and Washington, DC, in numerous EOD related fields. He later moved to the "Sand Hills" area north of Panama City, FL where he lived until his marriage to Linda Kay Fleetwood from McCall, ID on May 23,1988, in Panama City. He sold his house, truck, boat, and car to follow Linda's State Department career.
Bobby D. and his bride of 15 years moved to Boise two years ago to be near family. Before Linda's retirement they lived in Quito, Ecuador; Port Tobacco, Maryland; Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Concord, CA. Their foreign travels included Chile, Peru, Argentina, India, Hungary, Czech Republic, Australia, New Zealand, and Thailand. This last summer they started enjoying the USA with an RV, visiting the Oregon coast, Oklahoma, Missouri, and the national parks of the west.
Bobby D. will be remembered for his many attributes, but especially for his million-dollar smile, wit, being a joker, generous heart, and a loving husband. He enjoyed people, was always willing to help others and wanted to have fun.
Bobby D. was a member of Elks Lodge #1772, Kodiak, AK for 43 years; the American Legion, Post #0233, Indian Head, MD for 22 years and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #00063, La Plata, MD for 10 years.
Bobby D. is survived by his wife Linda Kay; three sisters, Norfa Smith and Mary Francis Lovern of Pulaski, VA, and Shirley Collins of Dale City, VA; his brother Eddie Kincer ofWytheville, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

VADALENE SMITH HALSEY
PULASKI – Vadalene Smith Halsey, age 93 of 113 7th St., N.W. Pulaski, Born November 24, 1910 in Superior, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Boyd Smith and Floyd Burton Smith. She was a long time member of the Mt. View United Methodist Church and the Aldersgate United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in Interment will follow in the church passed away Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004 at her home.
death by her husband, Ervin Jackson; one son, Sammy Lawrence; and two grandsons, Jerry Keen and Bobby Keen.
She was survived by one sister, Maude Street of Abingdon, Va.; five daughters, Mildred Dawson of Dublin, Brenda Day of Dublin, Betty Sue Keen of Dublin, Donna Morrell of Piney Flats, Tenn., and Debbie Jackson of Roxboro, N.C.; three sons, Jerry (J.B.) Jackson of Pulaski, Junior Jackson of Martinsville, and Eddie Gerald Jackson of Roanoke; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Elder Henry Viars officiating.

LENFORD LANCE DALTON
PULASKI - Lenford Lance Dalton, age 55, Pulaski formerly of Mt. Airy, N. C. Interment will follow at Goad passed away Wednesday Dec. 31, 2003. Her daughter, Nancy Gail Roberts McPeak, preceded her in Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends one hour before the service Saturday.

JOSHUA WAYNE BROWN
PULASKI - Joshua Wayne Brown, 23, of Buena Vista Farm, Pulaski, Va. chose to be with his Lord on the 26th day of February, 2003. He was the son of Robert W. and Karen B. Brown of Pulaski.
He is survived by his parents, brother and sister-in-law, Nathan Kelly and Cari Wyatt Brown of Norwich, CT; paternal grandfather, Frank W. Brown of Pulaski; maternal grandparents, Carl and Virginia Buckland of Radford; uncle and aunt, Mark S. and Becky H. Buckland of Dublin; aunts, Susan E. Buckland of Houston, TX and Margaret B. Stevens of Pulaski and several cousins.
Joshua was a victim of the ravages of a medical condition known as Schizo-Affective Disorder. He was a gifted musician and singer who had farmer’s hands and loved his cows and, especially, his two devoted beagles, Buddy and Bongo.
He was a member of Draper’s Valley Presbyterian Church. Joshua completed two years of study at Roanoke College, where he was member of the a cappella group “Listening For An Echo.”
Joshua “fought the good fight, he finished the course, he kept the faith.” II Timothy 4:7.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday from Draper’s Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Dr. Cortez Cooper, the Rev. Kenneth Pierce and Pastor Dwight Haynes officiating. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. from Draper’s Valley Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall at 3 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Mental Health Association of the New River Valley, 303 Church Street, SE, Blacksburg, VA 24060.
