DUBLIN – George Allen Burnette, age 76 of Wilderness Road, Dublin Born Nov. 8, 1927 in Pulaski County he was the son of the late Charles Tony and Molly Peak Burnette. He was also preceded in Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bobwhite Blvd., Pulaski. The family will also be meeting at the home of his daughter (Wanda Heslep) 102 Ridgewood Lane Apartment C, Radford (behind Harvey’s Chevrolet) off Auburn Avenue.

RADFORD - Donald Ray Lyons, 66, died Saturday evening February 7, 2004 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. death by his brother, Gordon Williams and a grandchild Matthew William Semones. He is survived by his wife: Sandra Parks Williams of Dublin: One son and daughter-in-law; Edwin “Eddie” Rudolph Williams, Jr. and his wife Sherry of Wytheville: two daughters and son-in-law: Debra Williams Ballagh and her husband Ernest of Lynchburg, and Anita Williams Semones of Hillsville: his former wife Ann Williams of Lynchburg: one sister and brother-in-law; Loetta Williams Nester and her husband Collin of the Patterson Community in Wythe Co.: three grandchildren; Amber Marie Ballagh, David Marcus Williams, Cayce Danielle Williams: niece; Tammy Peak: nephews; Terry Nester, Timmy Nester, and Steve Nester. He is also survived by his church family and a host of friends, 1 uncle, and 2 aunts. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church with the Rev. Martha Yeomans and the Rev. Charles Smythers officiating. Cemetery where the V.F.W. Post 1184 will conduct military graveside rites. DRAPER – Charlotte Miller, age 49, of Draper, departed this life on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004 at the Friendship Health Care Center, Roanoke, Va. Funeral arrangements are pending at Penn’s Funeral Home.
JESSE CHARLES CRUMBLEY, JR.
PULASKI – Jesse Charles Crumbley, Jr., born May 22, 1918, in Savannah, Ga., to Maude Mallard Crumbley and Jesse Charles Crumbley. While growing up in Savannah, he made a number of friendships that lasted to the end of his life. He graduated from Savannah High School in 1936 and entered Clemson University, where he received his degree in chemical engineering in 1940.
With his officer’s commission from Clemson, he joined the U. S. Army and soon was stationed in Pulaski County, Va. There, he met Pulaski native Helen Louise Boothe and they were passed away Thursday, February 5, 2004 at the Pulaski Community Hospital. He attended the Church of God of Prophecy. Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Ross of Baltimore, MD and Jerry Ross of Middle River, MD; a daughter, Loretta Howard of Reisertown, MD; two sisters, Shirley Hill of Trinity, NC and Bridie Ridpath of Kensington, MD; grandchildren; great grandchildren Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Tom Warren officiating. passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at his home.

He was survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia Pauline Snavely Hodge of Dublin; sons, Charlie Kyle Hodge, Jr. of Dublin, Gary Wayne Hodge of Dublin, Donald Calvin Hodge of Pulaski, and Ricky Allen Hodge of Dublin; daughters, Susan Delores Byrd of Fort Chiswell, and Jeraldine Hodge of Dublin; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. Donald Byrd officiating. Cemetery, Draper.

PULASKI – Kathleen Cox McGlothlin, 67, of Pulaski, Born Sept. 9, 1936 in Tallassee, Tenn., she was the daughter of Ruby Hazel Bailey Cox and the late Jake Davis Cox.
A brother, Thurman Cox, also preceded her in Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends an hour before service time Monday at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski.

STRASBURG, VA. – Harold Saunders Crowder, age 88, of 323 No. Fort St., Strasburg funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Strasburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael T. Frank officiating. Burial will be in Riverview born Sept. 1, 1915 at Foster Falls, Va., a son of the late John L. and Mary Stoots Crowder. He was a member of Strasburg United Methodist, Strasburg Moose Lodge No. 403 and a former member of Strasburg Lions Club of 15 years. He retired from the United States Government, Department of FEMA with 22 years of service and was the founder of Crowder Pest Control. He was passed away Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004. PULASKI – Edward Scott Fewell, Sr., 70, of 140 Prince Avenue, Pulaski, death by one daughter Elizabeth Jane Fewell Laycock, his mother Etta Elizabeth Carter, his father Robert Scott Fewell and by a sister Rosella Carter, all of Northern Virginia. Mr. Fewell was passed away Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004 at her home in Aberdeen. Cemetery, Aberdeen, Md. Visiting will be Thursday 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

NARROWS - Sadie Lovern McGinley, 83, of Narrows born in Mercer County, WV on August 31, 1920 and wasthe daughter of the late Roscoe Greeley Lovern and Hester Louvinia Schilling. She was preceded in Cemetery in Princeton, WV. The family will receive friends at Riffe'spassed away at the Roanoke Community Hospital.
Surviving are: her parents, Nathanal and Cynthia Clemmons, Pulaski; maternal grandparents, Connie and Roy Lineberry, Dublin, Larry Hayes and fiancée Renee Gerow, Fairlawn; paternal grandparents, Carl and Marilyn Clemmons, Pulaski; aunts and uncles, Kimberly Hayes, Kristi and Josh Brady, Mark Lineberry and Chuck Clemmons; many great aunts, uncles and cousins as well as a large church family.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 3:00 p.m. at the Dublin United Methodist Church. Interment will follow privately in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends Monday 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. service time at Dublin United Methodist Church.
