PULASKI – Carl Raymond Viar, 77, of 1100 Allen Street, Pulaski born on Mar. 26, 1927 in Ivanhoe, Wythe County and was the son of the late Carvin Lynnwood Viar and Allie Catherine Cregger Viar. He was also preceded in Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Weston Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin with Pulaski VFW Post #1184 conducting the military graveside rites. Visiting will be Monday evening from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Flowers will be excepted but the family wishes that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, Att: Ada Web, P. SUE CARPER MOODY
PULASKI – Sue Carper Moody, 76, of Pulaski, death by her husband Von W. Moody, Jr. and brother, Garland Carper of Roanoke. She was a life long member of the First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are: her sister, Iris C. Miller, Pulaski; brothers, Bill Carper, Pulaski, Dean Carper, Roanoke, Ike Carper, Roanoke; brother-in-law, Bill Moody, Roanoke; children, Suzanne M. Whillhite, Kennesaw, Ga., Von W. Moody, III (Buck), Charlotte, N.C., Bill Dean Moody, Riner, Rick Moody, Pulaski; seven loving grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; special angels, Senita Haga, Ann Fawcett.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, from the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Randy Frye, Rev. Jeff Kackley and Rev. Terri Sternberg officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Friends will be received from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20 at Stevens Funeral Home.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the medical staff at Pulaski Community Hospital, who so lovingly cared for her for the past two months, and the loving staff at Pulaski Retirement Center where she resided for the past five years. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church Ministry to Area Needy Fund or to the Fairview Home, Dublin.

PULASKI – Fred J. Hall, 86, of 4711 Robinson Tract Road, Pulaski, died Sunday April 18, 2004 at Pulaski Health & Rehabilitation Center. death by her husband, Woodson Stillman Cummings, who together for years owned and operated Number One Drug Store in Downtown Pulaski. She was also preceded in Interment will follow in Oakwood died Sunday April 18, 2004 in the Sweetwater Hospital. Interment will follow in the Newbern died Thursday afternoon April 15, 2004 in the Pulaski Community Hospital. She was death by her husbands, Hobert F. Freeman and Roby Gravley and by one son, Rodney L. (Stubby) Freeman.
Surviving are: her daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Ellen and Ray Semones, Pulaski, Debra Elaine and Ellis Duncan, High Point, N.C.; sons and daughter-in-law, Larry and Vickie Freeman, Pulaski, Mike Eugene Freeman, Tazewell, Roger Lee Freeman, Elizabeth City, N.C.; sisters, Lucille Quesenberry, Kingsport, Tenn., Ruby Thompson, Baltimore, Md., Rosie Taylor, Dublin, Annabell Simpkins, Pulaski; brothers, Robert L. HATTIE VELMA DALTON
DUBLIN – Hattie Velma Dalton, age 100 formerly of Draper, Born Nov. 19, 1903 in Dugspur, Va., she was the daughter of the late Taliaferro and Orlelia Elizabeth Alderman Dalton. Two sisters, Mrs. Daisy D. Harmon, and Miss Lydia Dalton and two brothers, Obie S. Dalton and Ray Edward Dalton, Sr. also preceded her in Interment will follow at the Draper passed away Thursday, April 15, 2004 in the Highland Ridge Rehab. Center in Dublin. He was death by two sisters, Mary Burnett and Inez Hall; and two brothers, William J. Crowder and Robert David Crowder.
Surviving are: his son, Toby Crowder, N. C.; three sisters, Beatrice C. Eanes, Draper, Frances Mabe and Shirley Gravley, both of N.C.; one brother, Charles Thomas Crowder II, Pulaski; several nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 18, at 2 p.m. in the Reese Funeral Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home or at the residence of his sister, Beatrice Eanes at anytime.

COLUMBUS FLOYD “PAPPY” “LUM” WORRELL
PULASKI – Columbus Floyd “Pappy” “Lum” Worrell, age 82 of 4390 Memory Lane (Brookmont Road) Pulaski Born Feb. 18, 1922 in Pulaski County he was the son of the late Lafayette Sylvester Worrell and Liddie Matilda Hinkley Worrell.
He was also preceded in Interment will follow at the Newbern died Tuesday, April 13, 2004 in the Riverview Nursing Home, Rich Creek, VA. She was death by five brothers and two sisters. She was a member of the Pulaski Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Surviving are: daughter and son-in-law Jean Macy and Edwin E. Lafon, Pulaski; son Glenn Thurber, Washington State; brother Joseph R. Poole, Fredricktown, OH; grandson and wife William F. and Mary K. Macy, Brunswick, GA; great-grandsons Matthew Tyler Macy and Jonathan David Macy, both of Brunswick, GA; three sisters-in-law.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. from Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorials be made to the Herbert R. Thurber Community Services Center, 501 Sligo Avenue, Silver Springs, MD 20910.

RONNIE WAYNE WALTERS
RADFORD – Ronnie Wayne Walters, age 63, of Radford, born Oct. 19, 1940 in Wythe County, son of the late Herbert B. and Bertha Robinson Walters. He was a member of Shiloh Christian Church, served in the United States Army and was retired from the United States Postal Service with 25 years service. Mr. Walters was preceded in Interment will follow in the Newbern passed away April 12, 2004. She was death by a daughter, Betty Mae Richardson and her husband, Claude Marvin Richardson. She was a member of the Mt. Gap Pentecostal Holiness Church in Meansville and was a homemaker and the mother of seven children. Beginning in 1942, she and her husband, Rev. Marvin Richardson, faithfully served in the pastorate together for 29 years. Along with all the duties of being a pastor’s wife, she was also president of various local Women’s Auxiliary chapters. In 1978, she felt a personal call to the ministry and received her Mission Worker’s License in the Virginia Conference in 1980 and her License in the Georgia Conference in 1981. She retired from her mission worker’s status in 1995. Mrs. Richardson taught soul-winning and discipleship classes out of her home near Meansville, Ga. for several years and also continued her letter-writing ministry.
Surviving are: her sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Edward and Netsy Richardson, of Wythefield, Va., Rev. David and Barnell Richardson, Andrews, S.C.; daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and George Chassevent, Jefferson, Ga., Fay and Kenneth Williams, Mt. Airy, N.C., Sue and Ronald Adams, Meansville, Ga., and Gale and Bill Cox, Greenville, S.C.; brothers, Roby Alderman, Galax, Kenneth Alderman, Hillsville and Neal Alderman, Salisbury, N.C.; sisters, Stella Trexler, Kannapolis, N.C. and Polly Flippin, Mt. Airy, N.C.; 13 grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, April 15, at 11 a.m. in the Galax Pentecostal Holiness Church. Cemetery in Woodlawn, Va.
Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home in Galax is also in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Mt. Gap Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund, 2100 Pine Valley Road, The Rock, Ga. 30285.
NANCY WRIGHT FOSTER
PULASKI – Nancy Wright Foster, 80, of 1405 Grove Drive, Pulaski born in Botetourt County on Feb. 26, 1924 and she was the daughter of the late George Washington Wright and Lysken Obenshain Wright. She was also preceded in Cemetery, Pulaski with Dr. Don Pegram officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at their home on Grove Drive. Flowers are appreciated or donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1652, Pulaski, Va. 24301 or the charity of choice.
