RADFORD - David Carr Branch, 75 of Radford, death by his parents Harry Chaffin Branch and David Elizabeth Hurley Vest. Survivors include his wife, Betty Webb Branch of Radford; two sons, Steven Hurley Branch of Yadkinville, NC, and David Webb Branch of Blacksburg; a daughter, LuAnn Branch of Christiansburg; a sister, Betty Rudd of Camden, SC; four grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at the Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Lockerby and Father Kris Kramer officiating. died June 22, 2004 at home. He was married Ruby Irene Duncan on July 21, 1953 in York, South Carolina. She survives. In addition to his wife Ruby he is survived by a son, Roger Wayne White of Britton MI; 3 daughters, Linda Kay Goll of Adrian, MI Brenda Gay Evers of Cement City, MI and Cynthia Fay Shippy of Henderson, CO; brother, Theodore Ward of Elkton, KY; 6 sisters, Dorothy Burton or Adrian, MI, Nancy Duncan and Darline Barrett of Whitmore Lake, MI, Maxine Harris of Midlothian, VA, Nadine Harless of Suffolk, VA, and Shelvy Covey of Pulaski, VA; 4 grandsons, Mike Evers, Jeremy Johnson, Travis White, and Jacob Shippy; 2 granddaughters, Mandy Hitt and Rhonda Shippy, and two great grandsons, Joshua Hitt and Kyle Tompkins. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, June 26, 2004 at Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy. (M52) Adrian, MI, 49221, with Rev. Ron Sparks officiating. KERMIT WESTON RAMSEY
HIWASSEE – Kermit Weston Ramsey, 51 of Hiwassee born Oct. 31, 1952 at Radford, Va. the son of the late Kermit Paul and Nancy Ruth Edwards Ramsey. He was a member of the Newbern Church of Jesus.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Ellen Adams Ramsey; three sons, Bryan Paul Ramsey, Weston Dean Ramsey, Travis Justin Ramsey of Hiwassee; three brothers and sister-in-law, Thomas Dean Ramsey, Blacksburg, Timothy Mark and Christine Ramsey, Dublin, Glenn Lane Ramsey, Decatur, Texas; six brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kristie Jamison, Kim Adams, Johnny Adams, Marty Adams, Mike Jamison and Joey Jamison; ten nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Newbern Church of Jesus with the Rev. J. P. Hale officiating. Burial in the Moore passed away Monday, June 21, 2004, formerly from Cleveland, Ohio. He was death by his parents, by his first wife, Eleanor Vaytovich McCall, and his second wife, Caroline Baker McCall of 23 years, by three brothers and by one step-son, Jay Neil.
Surviving are: his sisters and brother-in-law, Sally Jenks, Hobart, Ind., James and RoseMary Amadei, Ebensburg, Pa., Nina Splane, Johnstown, Pa.; brother, Pat McCall, Pittsburgh, Pa.; a very special brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Sylvia Coe, Pulaski; step-children, John and Joyce Neil, Jim and Betty Lou Hruska, Jimmy Neil, Jackie Freeman, Joe Neil, all of Cleveland, Ohio; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Matthew Kaatz and staff, New River Valley Cancer Center and staff, Pulaski Community Hospital and staff, Carilion Hospice Service and staff, Intrepid USA Home Health Care and staff.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donald D. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Newbern died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, in Covington, Ky. He was death by his wife, Ruth Robinson Hearn.
Surviving are: his sons and daughters-in-law, Herman H. Hearn, III and Theresa Hearn, Hiwassee, Dr. Mark and Glenda Hearn, Indianapolis, Ind., Rev. Philip and Renee’ Hearn, Florence, Ky.; sisters, Grace Hill, Jacksonville, Fla., Ruby Correll, Jacksonville, Fla.; brothers, William Hearn, Dublin, Hubert Hearn, N.C.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Memorial Baptist Church, Pulaski with Dr. Mark Hearn officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. PULASKI - Irene Cruff Busbey, age 72 of 322 Carriage Hill Drive in Pulaski Born January 5, 1932 in Pulaski, she was the daughter of the late Nannie Wood Cruff and Raymond M. Cruff. She was a member of Anderson Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in Interment will be in Sanctuary passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2004. WYTHEVILLE – John William Burcham, Jr. age 64, of Wytheville born in Pulaski County, son of the late John W., Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Quesenberry Burcham. John was a retired Insurance Broker, a member of Fellowship Baptist Church for over 40 years and had served as a Deacon and an Adult Sunday School Teacher.
Surviving are: his wife, Mary Collins Burcham; children, Steven Burcham, Pulaski, Craig Burcham, Holts Summit, Mo., Elaine Burcham, Wytheville, Carol Brendel, Boomer, W. Va.; 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 25 at 11 a.m. in the Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Donald E. Drake, Sr. and Pastor Craig Burcham officiating.

WESTON, CO - William “Bill” Walter Coalson Vorwerk, age 65 of Weston, CO, and formerly of Pulaski, Born June 22, 1938 in San Bernadino, CA, he was the son of the late Bill F. Vorwerk and Irene Coalson Vorwerk. Mr. Vorwerk was a veteran of the United States Navy, and a breeder of champion dogs. He is survived by his mother: Irene Coalson Vorwerk of Brooksville, FL: a son; Mark Edward Vorwerk of Mesa, AZ. A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday June 26th, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in Oakwood cemetery. WEST FRIENDSHIP, MD. - Iris Aker Via, age 85 of West Friendship, MD, and formerly of Pulaski, Born January 19, 1919 in Wytheville, Va, she was the daughter of the late Leslie F. Fisher Aker and John D.F. Aker. She was a retired insurance supervisor for Hartford Insurance Co. in Towson, MD, and was a Baptist by faith. KENNETH RAY EPPERLEY
PULASKI – Kenneth Ray Epperley, 49, of 624 Carriage Hill Drive, Pulaski born on Dec. 9, 1954 in Montgomery Co. and was the son of the late Dewey Leonard Epperley and Virginia Epperly Epperley. Mr. Epperley was a member of the Pulaski Fire Department since 1981.
Surviving are: his wife, Roberta Stoots Epperley, Pulaski; son, Cpl. Michael P. Epperley, United States Marine Corp and Fiancé Jessica Camper; daughter and son-in-law, Candia and David Cook, Pulaski; daughter, Brandy Meredith, Pulaski; granddaughter, Kaitlynn Cook; grandsons, Joshua Cook, Justin, Jordan, Jeremy Ferguson; sister and brother-in-law, Norma Jean and James Smith, Dublin; brothers, Wayne Epperley and Margaret Wright, Hiwassee, Roger Epperley, Pulaski; brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Sheril Epperley, Pulaski; numerous nieces and nephews.

STELLA HARMAN STHRESHLEY
HARRISONBURG – Stella Harman Sthreshley 83, a resident at Sunnyside Presbyterian Home, born June 9, 1921 in Dublin, Va., and was the daughter of the late Edwin and Miriam Currie Harman. She moved to Sunnyside from Dublin in 1992, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Harrisonburg. She previously worked as a Secretary at the Forrest Hills Presbyterian Church in Richmond, and was active in the Ruritan Club, in Dublin. She was a graduate of Longwood College in Farmville.
On Oct. 17, 1944, she died on July 11, 2000. Her only survivors are six cousins.
The Rev. James E. Guthrie and Rev. Thomas Holden III will conduct a memorial service 10 a.m. Tuesday in Bethel Chapel at Sunnyside. A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at the New Dublin Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Dublin, Va. The Rev. Jean Brown will conduct the service.
