HIWASSEE – Christopher Frank Warden, age 21, Born June 11, 1982 in Radford. He was a graduate of the Gateway Christian Academy (Blacksburg), and a member of the New River Baptist Temple (Radford). He was employed by Alliant Tech Systems.
Surviving are: his wife, Charity Phillips Warden and son, Eli Frank Warden, Hiwassee; parents, Steve and Donna Warden, Belspring; one sister, Amy Warden, Belspring; one brother, Everett Warden, Belspring; grandparents, Larry and Betty Warden, Belspring, Evans and Nancy Ridpath, Snowville Community; great grandparents, Grover and Ocie Gravley, Belspring, Lollie Warden, Draper; father and mother-in-law, Austin and Vickie Phillips, Hiwassee; sister-in-laws, Amanda, Katina and Anna Phillips, Hiwassee; brother-in-law, Andrew Phillips, Hiwassee. Many aunts, uncles and cousins who will also miss him greatly, but look forward to a wonderful reunion in Heaven also survive Chris.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with the Pastor Ricky Bolick officiating. Cemetery, Hiwassee.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bobwhite Blvd.

HANEY LEE HODGES
ROANOKE – Haney Lee Hodges, 53, of Roanoke, born July 15, 1950 in Wytheville, Va. He was a graduate of Pulaski County High School and Virginia Tech, retired from MD/VA Milk Producers Cooperative, and a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Roanoke. Haney is survived by wife: Susan Anderson-Hodges, Roanoke; father, H.M. Hodges, Christiansburg; mother, Carolyn McGuire and stepfather, Bill McGuire, Pulaski; brother, Kenny Hodges, Pulaski; sister-in-law Ann Hodges, Radford; nephew, Jeb, wife Sarah Hodges, Wytheville; niece Sarah, husband Chris and son Jack Bradbury, Radford; niece, Jade Brillheart, Radford; brother, Tim Hodges, Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; brother and sister-in-law, Rob and Misti Hodges, nieces Abby and Rachel Hodges, Pulaski; step sister Jamie and Ed Kirby, Greenville, N.C.; step brother, Mark and Donna McGuire, Houston, Texas; parents-in-law, Garnet and Gloria Anderson; sister-in-law, Ann and Charles Bauer and nephew Matthew Bauer, all of White Hall, Md.; and many lovingly devoted relatives of the Hodges and Umberger families. Haney, or Haney Lee to the Hodges relatives, was a man of great passion, intelligence and incredible will. He loved life, grand trees, big dogs and fireplaces. Haney loved to be with family and friends and to make people laugh; he was always quick with a quip. He lived life thoughtfully and believed in the value of big dreams and in self-determination. Haney pulled through many tribulations, having lived 39 years with Type I Diabetes. He was tearfully thankful for the magnanimous gift of organ donation that made it possible to extend his life. Haney will be remembered by those who loved him as a builder of community who spread great cheer to those around him and saw the positive in life. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be conducted Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at 3 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Roanoke with visitation following until 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (4502 Starkey Road, Roanoke, Va. 24018) or to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Roanoke, Endowment Fund, (2015 Grandin Road, Roanoke, Va. 24015). KENNIE WOODSON VINSON
PULASKI – Kennie Woodson Vinson, 89, of Vinson Lane, Pulaski born in Carroll County on August 8, 1914 and he was the son of the late Kennie Sullivan Vinson and Laura Ellen Surratt Vinson. He was also preceded in passed away May 1, 2004 after a difficult battle with cancer. He was a graduate of Virginia Tech in structural engineering. He is survived by his wife, Linda Kendall Hager, two sons, Jim Hager of Cleveland, Ohio and Charlie Hager of Morris, Ill. Also, a daughter, Jennifer of Dubuque, Iowa. He is survived by his parents, Charles B. and Wally M. Hager of Pulaski; one sister, Marie C. Hager and three brothers, Karl G. Hager, George W. Hager and John B. Hager. He has six nephews, and one niece. A memorial service will be held Saturday June 5, 2004 at 2 p.m. at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Pulaski, Va. with the Reverend Paul Gallagher officiating. RADFORD - Marvin Jackson Harris, 83 of Radford, departed this life on Monday, May 31, 2004. He was cared for in his last days by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Rutherford Boyd of Phoenix: 3 sons; E.L. “Butch” Boyd, Jr. of Richmond, Va., William Morgan Boyd of Wellsburg, N.Y., and Jonathan David Boyd of Elimyra, N.Y.: 1 daughter; Mellisa Boyd Dindell of Denver, CO: 1 sister; Dana Boyd Hess of Richmond. Also survived by 10 grandchildren. By the request of Mr. Boyd, his body was donated to science to better benefit others in need. A memorial service will be held Thursday June 3, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. The V.F.W. Post 1184 will conduct military rites. GEORGE LEWIS BEVINS
DUNGANNON, VA - George Lewis Bevins, 79, of Dungannon, VA born in Dungannon, VA on December 19, 1924 and was the only son of the late Dr. Oscar Emory Bevins, MD and Lottie Rosamond Osborne Bevins. He served in the U.S. Army AirCore; was a radio operator/gunner on B17 Flying Fortresses; flew 30 missions over Germany during WWII; received an air medal with three oak leaf clusters, Presidential Unit Citation, and a Purple Heart. He was a member of Ruritan National, 50 Year Mason, member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was an active member and officer of the Board of Directors of Clinch River Health Services in Scott County. Mr. Bevins was a member of Dungannon United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Lucy Cornelia Brummett Bevins of the home; sons, George Bevins, Jr. and wife Bonnie, Suffolk, VA; Randall Bevins, Pulaski, VA; Ronald Bevins and wife Iris, Kingsport, TN; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters, Beulah Rutherford and Mildred Bevins both of Pulaski, VA. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, VA and anytime at the residence. Masonic services by Fincastle Lodge No. 33 will be held at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Steve Collins officiating. Music will be provided by Cassell Chapel Singers. Burial will be at Holston View passed away Saturday, May 29, 2004. He was death by his wife, Frances DeHart Payne.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 31, at 1 p.m. in the Reese Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Walker officiating. Cemetery. The family received friends at the Reese Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

ROBERT “BOB” BURNS WILLIAMS
DUBLIN - Robert "Bob" Burns Williams, 81 of Dublin, born in Kentucky on May 25, 1923 to Grace Rorrer and John P. Williams. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving during W. W. II. He was retired from Hercules. He was preceded in died Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at New River Valley Medical Center. She was death by her husband, William Davis “Billy” Caldwell as well as four brothers. She is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and James Patrick, Connie Lovern, Barbara and Ronnie Shelton, all of Christiansburg, Vickie Caldwell and Milton Simpkins of Pilot, Bonnie and Neal Seamen of Christiansburg; two sons and daughter-in-law, William Jeffery Caldwell, Russell Wayne and Dana Caldwell, all of Radford; two sisters, Ellen Hartman of Pearisburg, Carol Thorn of Rich Creek; two brothers, Buck Quesenberry of Rich Creek, Ricky Quesenberry of Pembroke; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. PULASKI – Herman Junior Quesenberry, age 87 of 4516 Newbern Heights Drive, Pulaski passed away Sunday, August 29, 2004 at his home in Radford. He was a member of Bains Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church and a retired owner of Interstate Body Shop for 28 years. He was preceded in died Wednesday Sept. 1, 2004 in Pulaski Community Hospital. death by her husband: Edward Scott Frandsen; 3 brothers; James Melton, Gordon Melton, and Carlos Melton: 4 sisters; Eliza Mae Melton, Margaret Duncan, Myrtle Davis and Ila Smith. She is survived by 1 brother; Robert W. “Bob” Melton of Pulaski; 2 sisters; Polly Breedlove of Pulaski, and Grace Melton of Pulaski. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
