EARLY LEE WILLIAMS
BURLINGTON – Early Lee Williams, 89 of Burlington death by three brothers, Willie W. “Bill” Williams, Neal M. Williams and Carl W. “Pete” Williams; two sisters, Katie W. Williams and Lena W. Howk.
Mr. Williams served as a medic in the United States Army during World War II. He was retired from Western Electric after 25 years of service. He spent his lengthy retirement hunting, working in his garden, and visiting many friends.
Visitation for Mr. Williams was held at McCluredied Saturday, July 10, 2004 at her home in Pulaski County. She was death was her first husband, William D. Southwall, who death in 2004. She was preceded in death.
Mrs. Millar had been an elementary school teacher for over 30 years. She lived and worked most of her life in Front Royal, VA. While in Front Royal, she was a member of the Warren Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Warren County Retired Teachers Association, past secretary of District N for Retired Teachers and a member of the South River Garden Club.
She was a wonderful mother, a proud grandmother who loved spending time with her beautiful great grand children. She has spent her last three years taking care of her husband Gus and living in Dublin,VA where she was a member of the New Dublin Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Hooper Simons of Suffolk and Katherine Saunders Sheppard of Cumberland and a brother, Ernest Everette Cook, of Covington, LA. Also surviving are a daughter-in-law, Sally Davant Millar of Front Royal; two sons and daughters-in law, Charles A. (Andy) III and Elizabeth (Liz) Livingstone Millar of Radford; and Gary M. (Moe) and Betty Jane Simpson Millar of Dublin.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Leah E. Speno and husband Andrew R. Speno of Oklahoma City, OK, and John D. Millar of Front Royal; Virginia (Ginnie) B. Webster and husband Geoffrey B. Webster of Alexandria; Elizabeth (Betsie) L. Ridnouer and husband, Nathan M. Ridnouer of Arlington; E. Louann Millar of Raleigh, NC; Hannah S. Millar of Roanoke; and Jean C. Millar of Burlington, NC; two step-granddaughters, Tatum E. Neely of Bryan, TX and Katie P. Neely of Durham, NC.
Other survivors are great grandchildren, Nicholas (Nick) A. Speno, Joseph C. Speno and Sofia L. Speno of Oklahoma City, OK and Sarah (Sadie) J. Webster of Alexandria.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17 at the New Dublin Presbyterian Church, Dublin, with the Rev. Jean Brown officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the New Dublin Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 922, Dublin, VA 24084.

SHAWSVILLE-Chad Timothy Price, 40, of Shawsville Interment followed at the Draper Valley Presbyterian Church died Friday evening July 9, 2004 in the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Salem, Va. death by a brother James Farley Newsome. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Mary Sue Altizer Newsome of Pulaski: one daughter Susan Lundy and her husband Kenny of Pulaski: one son; Brooks Newsome and his wife Alyson of Murfreesboro, TN: one brother; Frank Newsome, Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Pulaski and Stuart, FL. Also survived and idolized by three loving grandchildren, Tara Lundy of Pulaski, Blayne and Jacob Newsome of Murfreesboro, TN, many nieces and nephews and a host of wonderful friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Randy Frye officiating. died Wednesday July 7, 2004 at her home. She was preceded in Interment will follow in West View passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Interment will follow at the Surratt passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2004 after losing his battle with cancer. Grover was death by his wife, Marcia Lurlene McCoy Duncan and one brother, Basil Duncan. Grover was a farmer and a welder who retired from the Radford Arsenal. He is survived by his daughter, Darryll Childress of Belspring; son, Bill Duncan of Belspring; 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Saturday July 10, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin with Rev. Clifton McCoy officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday July 9, 2004 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.

RADFORD - Wayne Craig Taylor, 52 of Radford, death by his father, Wayne Joseph Taylor. Survivors include his wife, Teresa "Terri" Taylor, and two children, Mitch and Bethany Taylor, all of Radford; his mother, Lucelia Ann Taylor of St. Marys, GA; a brother, Danny Taylor of Tampa, FL; and three sisters, Judith Stine, and Eileen Simons, both of St. Marys, GA, and Debbie Taylor of Orlando, FL. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 10, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Radford with Rev. O. D. Morgan and Rev. Roy Marshall officiating. PULASKI - William Malcolm Warden, age 69 of Pulaski, Born April 13, 1935 in Pulaski, he was the son of the late Lova Ethel Sutphin Warden and William Lawrence Warden. Mr. Warden was a member of the graduation class of Pulaski High School 1952. He is survived by cousins including a special cousin Ms Donnie Johnson of Pulaski. Per the wishes of Mr. Warden, he was cremated and there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to a local charity of your choice.
