WILMA MOORE BURNS JOHNS
DUBLIN - Wilma Moore "Billie" Burns Johns, 86 of Dublin, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, joined her Savior, Jesus Christ and began her eternal life on Tuesday, September 21, 2004. She was retired from Radford University Food Service with 20 years of service and was a member of the Dublin Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to either the Carilion Hospice Services of NRV, 707 Randolph St., Suite 251, Radford, VA 24141, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905, or the Dublin Presbyterian Church 2 Cents a Meal Fund. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.

SIMON KENTON (PETE) COVEY
PULASKI – Simon Kenton (Pete) Covey, 74, of 714 Newbern Road, Pulaski stepped into the presence of the Lord on Oct. 5, 2004. He will be greatly missed by everyone whose life he touched through the many happy years of his life on this earth. He was death by his sisters, Evalene Covey and Ruth Lunsford and by a brother, Voyce David Covey and by a granddaughter, Christy Sue Landreth Pampley. He was a faithful employee of Jefferson Mills for 43 years and he was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Pulaski and he was a well known face in the Pulaski community. His wife and daughters will greatly miss his presence in their lives.

Surviving are: his wife, Darlene Via Covey, Pulaski; daughters, Cynthia Covey Carter and husband Robert J. Carter, Christiansburg, Jennifer Sue Covey and Dwayne Graham, Pulaski; sisters and spouses, Mollie and Bob Hedge, Dublin, Cecille and Dick Dalton, Dublin, Geraldine (Jerry) Lane, Pulaski, Elizabeth and Malcolm Rash, Dublin; grandsons, Lucas Scott Covey and his wife Amanda, Clayton Thomas Carter; step-granddaughter, Juanita Stone and her children, Tyler and Shynne; great-granddaughter, Amelia Grace Covey; his good friend, Miles from Giles.

passed away Thursday morning Oct. 7, 2004 at the Radford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

JEFFEY LEE BERKLEY
DUBLIN - Jeffrey Lee Berkley, age 28 of Dublin, born November 5, 1975 in Roanoke, Va. He was a graduate of Pulaski County High School class of 1994, and was a law student at Ohio Northern University. He was preceded in Interment will follow in the church died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004 at her residence.

Mrs. Roseberry was death by her brother, Hayward Martin and her sister, Joan Whitaker.

Surviving are three daughters, Laura Carden and husband James of Lexington, N.C.; Wanda Kindley and husband William of Denton, N.C.; Drema Ferguson and husband Gary of Lexington, N.C.; three sons, Rudy Roseberry and wife Laura of Trinity, N.C.; Mickey Roseberry and wife Linda of High Point, N.C.; Dan Roseberry and wife Susan of Sophia, N.C.; mother, Mrs. Thelma Martin of Pulaski; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Richardson of Fredericksburg, Va.; Mrs. Mona Chinault of Pulaski; three brothers, Hubert Martin; Cecil Wayne Martin; Jimmy Martin all of Pulaski; 19 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.Interment will be in Floral Garden Park passed away Friday evening, October 1, 2004 at his home.

death by one half sister and one half brother. He was a member of the Max Creek Baptist Church. He was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation with over 14 years of service.

He was survived by his wife Rose Ann "Rosie" Quesenberry Brown of Dublin; sisters-in-law Eva M. Viers of Dublin, Charlotte M. Thomas of Pulaski, and Rebecca Carolyn Walters of Max Meadows; brothers-in-law Venton and Clenton Quesenberry of Max Creek, Lewis Quesenberry of Draper, and Robert Quesenberry of Pulaski; half sister Louise Spencer of Victoria, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Max Creek Baptist Church, Hiwassee with Pastor Terry L. Walters and Randall O'Dell officiating. Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bob White Boulevard, Pulaski.

LISA LOREE PAGAN
PULASKI - Lisa Loree Pagan, age 32 of Pulaski, born May 14, 1972, in Pulaski. She was the Deputy Clerk with the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court in Pulaski. She was a member of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She is survived by her Fiance: Tony Pickett of Wythe Co., Va.: a son Joshua Pagan Pickett of Wythe Co.: parents; Loree Johnson Pagan and Homer “Jimmy” Dewey Pagan, Jr. of Pulaski: three brothers; David W. Pagan and his wife Joani of Sanford, N.C., Joe A. Pagan and his wife Starr of Pulaski, and Terry A. Pagan and his special friend Carolyn Holbrook of Pulaski. Also survived by 1 niece; Erica Pagan: 1 nephew; Jesse Pagan and many special cousins, aunts, and uncles. Funeral services will be held Saturday October 2, 2004 at 12 Noon at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Darlene Marshall officiating. Cemetery on Robinson Tract Road. Visiting will be Friday anytime after 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted, but for those who wish to make memorial contributions, they may do so to the Lisa Pagan memorial Trust in care of “Joshua” by visiting the Pulaski County Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court 45 3rd Street, N.W. PULASKI – Mabel Elizabeth Johnston, 83, of 434 Magazine Street, Pulaski born in Elbert, West Virginia on Dec. 25, 1921 and she was the daughter of the late John W. Spriggs and Elizabeth Spriggs. She was also preceded in Funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Pastor David Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Thursday evening from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorials be made to charity of one’s choice.

SALEM – Edith B. Gallimore, 70, of Salem went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, May 17, 2005. She was death by her brothers, Lonnie and Paul Gallimore, and Clyde Smith, and sisters, Callie Basham and Dorothy Hollandsworth. Edith was a graduate of Draper High School and retired from J. Weiner and Company after 45 years of service. She was a member of New Life Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church. Surviving are her brothers, Carl Russell Gallimore and wife Helen of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; Donald Randolph Gallimore and wife Wyoma, of Huntington, W. Va.; Gordon W. Gallimore and wife Darlene of Roanoke; sisters, Ruby King of Mt. Airy, N.C.; Peggy Christine Cassell and husband Claude of Collinsville; and Betty Thomas of Salem. Numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the building fund at New Life Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church, 5745 Airport Road Roanoke, Va. 24012 or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21 at New Life Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Jason Forehand, the Rev. Walter Wood, and the Rev. Frankie Graham. A graveside service will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Appalachian Conference passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2005 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital following complications after surgery. He was death by his first wife, Martha Porter Padgett and several sisters and brothers. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Snavley Padgett of the home; two daughters, Kay Corvin of Rural Retreat, Vicki Sexton of Galax; two granddaughters; two sisters, Irene Martin of Draper, Mary Ruth Mens of Bedford. Several nieces, nephews and many, many friends also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 20, 2005 at 1:00 pm in the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Vince Kraus officiating. passed away Tuesday May 17, 2005 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. She was preceded in died early Monday morning, May 16, 2005, in the Pulaski Community Hospital. She was death by her husband, Howard Wayne (Hop) Leonard and by two sons, Robert Leonard and Larry Leonard.
Surviving are: her sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Loretta Powers, Pulaski, Roger and Connie Leonard, Pulaski; daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and James Hylton, Pulaski, Rebecca and Larry Mooney, Dublin, Debra Mathena, Pulaski, Linda Woodrum, Pulaski, Theresa Leonard, Pulaski, Kimberly Leonard, Pulaski; sisters, Wilma Myers, Marion, Carol Hough, Saltville, Martha Kell, Marion, Betty Cline, Marion, Margaret Wyatt, Marion, Brenda Griffey, Marion, Helen Hutton, Marion; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 18, at 11 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tom Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Tuesday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.

ARCHIE PAUL SMITH
PEMBROKE – Archie Paul Smith, 80, of Cascade Drive in Pembroke, Born at Norris Run on Mar. 18, 1925 he was a son of the late John Danny and Mamie Surface Smith. Archie had been employed at the Celanese Celco Plant in Narrows for 39 years, operated service stations, and was employed as an independent trucker. He was a veteran of the United States Army in World War II and was preceded in passed away Saturday, May 14, 2005 at her residence. She was death by her husband, Nathan E. Lovell, Sr.; two sisters, Nova Crockett and Della Crockett; three brothers, Jesse, Granville and Friel McPeak.
Surviving are: one daughter, Myrna Roberts of Richmond; two sons, Nathan E. Lovell, Jr. of Austinville, Wayne Lovell of Hillsville; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ruby Tate, Austinville, Daphne Lovell, Foster Falls, Faye Williams, Salem, Geneva Moore, Pulaski and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Reese Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Laura Wyke officiating a graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Foster Falls Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 p.m. until service time.
Reese Funeral Home, Austinville, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
