NEWBERN - Faye Bedsaul Farris, age 75 of Newbern, went home to be with her Lord Monday morning August 15, 2005 from her residence. death by a sister; "Monkey" Bedsaul & brothers; Wayne & Martin Bedsaul of Galax.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Tyree Farris of Newbern, & her children; Miller Farris & his wife Marie of Newbern, Karen Bryson & her husband Terry of Draper, Jo Ann Raynor & her husband Rob of Covington, GA, & Becky Cullip & her husband Andy of Dublin: Sisters; Euna Lee Chipman & her husband Bob, Virginia Higgins & her husband Thomas, all of Galax, & sister-in-laws; Almeda Bedsaul of Dublin, Gene Farris, Annis Farris, & Sylvia Farris all of Newbern. Granny, as she was lovingly called, is also survived by 12 grandchildren & 7 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Farris was in the first graduating class of nurses from the Pulaski General Hospital, class of 1951. She worked at Klopman Mills, Newbern as plant nurse for 27 years & was a charter member of the Community Christian Church, Newbern. Homegoing services will be held Wednesday August 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Community Christian Church across from the old Klopman Mills with Pastor Ernie DePew & Mrs. Farris's son-in-law, Pastor Rob Raynor officiating. Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted, but for those who wish, they may make memorial contributions in her memory to the Newbern Volunteer Fire Dept. BARREN SPRINGS - Mary Lou Miller, age 85, of Barren Springs, Boone Furnace Road departed this life on Sunday, August 14, 2005 at the Pulaski Community Hospital after a long illness. She was death by her husband Ralph Miller.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son French Miller of Barren Springs, two daughters Shirley Miller of Barren Springs and Lillian Miller of Roanoke. She has six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. One brother Henry Safewright of Pulaski, two sisters Margret Primm of Pulaski and Sadie Harmon of Princeton, W. Va. and a host of other relatives and friends.

NEWBERN – Faye Bedsaul Farris, age 75, of Newbern wife of Tyree Farris passed away Friday, August 12, 2005 at the Highland Ridge Rehab Center in Dublin.
He was a member of Dublin Baptist Church and was a U. S. Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Federal Mogul and Pulaski Furniture. Howard received his Bachelor's Degree from Upper Iowa State University.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Smith of Dublin; a daughter, Tracy S. Golden of Dublin; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 15, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home with Dr. David Hoagland officiating. passed away Thursday, August 11, 2005 at the Highland Ridge Rehab Center. She was retired from Celanese with 37 years of service.
She was preceded in Interment will follow in the New Dublin Presbyterian Church passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2005. He was Interment followed in Sherwood Memorial Park.

RADFORD - Oliver Berl "Jeep" Chambers of Radford, Va., death by his wife, Betty Linkous Chambers, and his son Michael Sidney Chambers' wife, Susie, as well as Oliver's parents, several sisters (Audrey Bain, Nancy Charlton, Hester Akers, Gladys Ennis, Polly Jones and Dottie Chambers) and three brothers, Otis, EB and Donald. He is survived by three sisters, Jane Barden, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Peggy Miller, Georgetown, Va. and Joan Hall, Jefferson, N.C., his nephew and care giver and wife, Jeff and Susan Bain, Pulaski, Va., and Betty's nephew and wife, Billy and Donna Wirt and daughter Kierra. Several other nieces and nephews and special friends survive the remarkable life of Jeep.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2005 at the DeVilibiss Funeral Home on Grove Avenue, Radford, Va. A memorial service, conducted by Pastor Terrie Sternberg, will begin at 7:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation and will include a Masonic service. died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004 at her home.

ARLENTA WHITT MORRIS
PULASKI – Arleta Whitt Morris, 87, of 2962 Lowman’s Ferry Road, Pulaski born in Pulaski County on April 3, 1917 and was the daughter of the late David Boyd Whitt and Freda Covey Whitt. She was also preceded in passed away Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004 at the Pulaski Health and Rehab Center. She was death by a son, Frank E. Jones, Jr., her father and mother, William L. and Betsy Anderson Farmer, by a brother, Claude Farmer and by sisters, Doris F. Graham and Adenia F. Daugherty.
Surviving are: her husband, Frank E. Jones, Sr., Pulaski; son, Jeffrey L. Jones, Pulaski; brothers, Walter E. Farmer, Pulaski, Roy G. Farmer, Dublin; sisters, Irene Virginia Brock, Pulaski, Lucille Francis Bowyer, Pulaski, Shirley Jean Burgess, Stone Mountain, Ga.; many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Murphy and Rev. Diane Stanley officiating. died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the First Christian Church in Richlands with Rev. Eddie Phenix officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans born in Agana, Guam on May 16, 1981 to Edward Dean and Susan Marie Winter Banes. His love of life, family and friends radiated throughout his short life. His compassion and caring ways helped us through his struggle with cancer. Cliff’s charm and wit will be forever in our memories.
Cliff joined the United States Marine Corp on Feb. 1, 2000 and served in Afghanistan and Puerto Rico with the 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, with honor, courage and commitment to the Corps and his country.
He born to this loving couple, bringing joy and delight to our family.
Cliff leaves behind many loving relatives and friends who are sincerely touched by his charm, personality and pranks. His concern for children with cancer prompted him to visit and entertain hospitalized children during his own hospitalization periods.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Banes; his daughter, Cheyenne; parents, Edward Dean and Susan Marie Winter Banes of Richlands; sister, Ashley Marie Banes of Cheyenne, Wy.; maternal grandmother, Marjorie Ann Winter of S. Williamsport, Pa.; maternal grandfather, Kenneth Edward Winter, Sr. of N. Williamsport, Pa.; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joseph Alexander and Brenda Jean Winsell, of Claremore, Ok.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 – 9 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home, 137 Ervintown Road, Richlands.
