LYDIA SIMPELS MONTERO
PULASKI – Lydia Simpels Montero, 76, of 933 Hermosa Drive, Pulaski, Va. born in France on April 17, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Arthur Simpels and Marie-Louise Spinnewinnes Simpels. She was a retired accountant and was a member of the St. Edwards Catholic Church, Pulaski.
Surviving are: her brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Josiane Simpels, France; special friends, Toni Stefanski, Draper, John Hager and family, Pulaski, Louise Billaud, Dublin.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski. Visiting will be Saturday morning at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service hour. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorials be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Following the service Ms. Montero will be cremated.

PULASKI – Maggie Ellen Peak Ryan, 61 of 524 Patterson Avenue, Pulaski died Thursday October 14, 2004 in Sunnybrooke Nursing Home in Raleigh. death by her husband, Phillip Anderson Palmer & a sister, Mabel Riggs. She is survived by 2 sons; Phillip Anderson “Andy” Palmer, Jr. of Amarillo, TX, and James Emery Palmer of Raleigh, N.C.: 4 brothers; Rev. John D. Riggs of Roanoke, Va., Austin L. Riggs of Melbourne, FL, Raymond H. Riggs of Pulaski, Va. and Garrett E. Riggs of Almagora, New Mexico. Also survived by 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday October 15, 2004 at 7 p.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. John D. Riggs officiating. Visiting will be held from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Cullen Interment will follow in Sunset funeral service, Christiansburg.

CLINTWOOD - Maxie Mullins Linkous, age 93, born in Dickenson County on August 28, 1911. Preceding her in Cemetery in Pulaski with Jim Linkous officiating. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at 5 p.m. on Saturday October 30 in the Mullins Funeral Home Chapel where a song service will be conducted at 6 p.m. with Bill Cahill and Kenneth Childress officiating.

MARK DOUGLAS MCDANIEL
PULASKI – Mark Douglas McDaniel, 34, of Pulaski, lost his battle with cancer Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Mark was a 1991 graduate of New River Community College. He was an employee of Celanese in Narrows, Va. He was a member of the Dublin Presbyterian Church. Mark was the youngest member of the Henry Clay Masonic Lodge #280 in Dublin.
Surviving are: his wife, Angela McDaniel; son, Ethan McDaniel; parents, Doug and Linda McDaniel; sister, Lisa Roop; nephew, Aaron Roop and wife, Elizabeth; maternal grandmother, Lorraine Hash; like a brother, Dale Dowdy, wife Tammy and children; father-in-law, Ray Pruitt; mother-in-law, Phyllis Chinault and husband, Stephen; sister-in-law, Cristy Laney and husband, Drennon and son Tyler. Mark was loved and will be missed by many.

DUBLIN – Emmett Daniel “Dan” Chrisley, age 67 of 4798 Caddell Road, Dublin passed away at his home in Norfolk on Monday, October 25, 2004. He was death by his loving daughter, Beverly Ann, three brothers and a sister. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Kinder Lester; a sister, Betty Jane Harman, of Radford.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 30, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin with the Rev. James Bennington officiating. Members of V. F. W. Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. PULASKI – Charles Ellis Rorrer, Jr. beat his fight with cancer and walked into the arms of Jesus on Oct. 25, 2004. Charlie or Jr as known to many was a loving and caring dad, husband and a friend to all who knew him. Charlie would help anyone anytime. He would give you the shirt off his back if you asked for it and he is going to be greatly missed. In his lifetime, he was a jack of all trades from working on vehicles, construction, and carrier for the Roanoke Times, he was famous for his home made pies.
