DUBLIN – Paul F. Armbrister, Jr., 50, of Dublin, Va. passed away Thursday, November 4, 2004 at the New River Valley Medical Center. He was a retired public school custodian. He was preceded in Interment will follow in the Richmond died Friday November 5, 2004 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was death by a sister, Thelma H. Melton. Funeral services will be held at the Dublin United Methodist Church at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 7, 2004, with the Rev. Mike Travis officiating. Visiting will be on Sunday, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the church. The Henry Clay Masonic Lodge will conduct a brief memorial service beginning at 6:45 p.m. died Saturday, November 6, 2004 in Pulaski Community Hospital. She was death by her husband, Dr. Henry D. Martin and by a son, Donald Tyler Martin. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pulaski.
Surviving are three nieces: Druscilla M. Henderson, Pulaski; Susan A. Hawkins, Hilton Head, SC; Sue Bowman Nelson, Atlanta, GA; one nephew Jeff Bowman, Eugene, Oregon and caregiver Betty Gene Cox, Pulaski.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. from Oakwood cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Pulaski County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1046, Dublin, Va. 24084

NANNIE WILLIE YOUNG
PULASKI – Nannie Willie Young, age 88 of Pulaski, departed this life on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004 at the Wythe County Community Hospital. She was Funeral service will be Saturday, Nov. 6, at 2 p.m. at the Radford Church of God In Christ, Russel and Clay Street with the Elder Ronald Watson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service at the church.

The funeral will be held at 2:30 pm at Lambeth-Troxlerdeath by her husband of 64 years, Fred D. Riggins, Sr. and her sons Winston Riggins and Dannie Lee Riggins. She was a member of Eastern Gate Assembly of God. She was a precious Christian who loved her savior Jesus Christ. She was loved dearly by her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors are one daughter, Faye R. Hyatt and her husband, George T. Hyatt, two sons, John W. Riggins and his wife, Laura L. Riggins of Greensboro, N.C. and Rev. Fred D. Riggins, Jr. and his wife Margie M. Riggins of Climax, N.C., 13 grandchildren , 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren, and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are; Son and Daughter-in-law, Gene and Dale Reece; grandson, Derek M. Reece and granddaughter Whitney K. Reece all of Snowville; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Marvin Harris of Riner; special friends Ruby McDaniel, Frances Simpkins, Carolyn Harrell, Jean Covey, Janet Shelton, and Mildred Hall. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Gibson officiating. passed away Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004. He was death by a son, Jerry T. Moore, two brothers, James and Henry Moore, three sisters, Mattie Armbrister, Pearl Lovell and Fannie Mills. He was retired from Burlington Industries.
Surviving are: his wife of 58 years, Evelyn Armbrister Moore; two sons, William F. “Billy” Moore, Jr., Paul Moore, both of Max Meadows; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandsons; brother, Benjamin Harmon.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. in the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Laura Wyke and the Rev. Cindy Ross officiating.
Cemetery, American Legion Post #9 will conduct graveside military rites.
The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday or at the home of Tina and Butch Quesenberry at any time.

FRED W. THOMPSON
PULASKI – married Florence, and they spent 56 wonderful years together at 1000 Peppers Ferry Road, Pulaski, Va. until her death, but also two sisters, Delorise “Sister” Hale, and Gloria T. Sutherland. Yet he is survived by his two sons, Frederick Warren Thompson, Jr. and Ruby of Pendleton, N.C., and Danny R. Thompson and his wife Kathleen of Kenai, Alaska; one grandson Richard D. Thompson of Soldotna, Alaska; two sisters, Loretta Cloe Thompson of Pulaski and Ramona T. O’Dell, her husband Pat, and their three children, Katana, Breon and Travana of Pulaski. A special niece, Michele S. Edmonds of Pulaski; two first cousins Joy Backus of Scranton, Pa., and Evelyn Rhodes of Fairchance, Pa. A host of loving North Carolina relatives: Alta Fowler and son David and family of Horse Shoe; Floss Nelson and daughters Debbie, Michelle, and son Eric of Hendersonville; Roy Laughter and wife Betty with daughters Angie, Tammy, Robin and their families of Hendersonville, and the late John Laughter and deceased wife Ruby and their family Rebecca, Johnnie, Mylinda, and Sharon and their families of the Greensboro area. Fred also has numerous relatives in the Giles County, Va. area.
Fred W. Thompson Sr. was a “Soldier for Freedom”, a very decorated American hero that carried his war wounds his entire adult life, a loving husband, a good father, and a friend to many. His family will miss him, as well as his friends at the American Legion and VFW, and members of the Memorial Baptist Church and the faithful fans at Calfee Park.
The family wants to thank Dr. Kaatz for his warm and personal healthcare, as well as the home caregivers Cindy Dowdy and daughter Casey, and Nina Lane. And please, thank all war veterans for what they sacrificed for all Americans.
The family request no flowers are sent, instead a donation to Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from Memorial Baptist Church, Pulaski with Pastor David Lones officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski, with full military honors. Visiting will be Friday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
