LARRY KENT (JIM) LONG
PULASKI – Larry Kent (Jim) Long, 64 of Pulaski Born Jan. 31, 1940 in Radford, he was the son of the late Dorothy Tipton Long and Leslie Long.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Horton Long, one daughter Vicki Lynn Thomas of Willis; one son, Barry Kent Long of Pulaski one granddaughter Santanna Martin and one half sister, Linda Neal of Radford.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Highland Memory Gardens with Rev. Roy Turpin officiating. The family will receive friends at the passed away Friday, Nov. 12, at the University of Maryland Hospital.
Interment will follow at Dishon Family passed away Monday evening, Nov. 15 at Pulaski Community Hospital.

HAZEL ELIZABETH DUDLEY COX
PULASKI – Hazel Elizabeth Dudley Cox, 84, of Pulaski passed away Sunday, November 28, 2004. He was a general maintenance foreman with United States Steel Corporation and attended Bluefield State College majoring in English. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Helen McNew Wood of Radford; two sons, Van Wood and Philip Wood, both of Norfolk; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jeremiah Turner died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004 at his home in Dublin. Surviving are his wife, Cynthia Mannon; two daughters, Amanda Beth Mannon and Jessica Lynn Dobbins; three sons, Christopher Dobbins, Brandon Dobbins and Michael Sayers; four nieces; two nephews; two brothers, Paul Dobbins, Winchester, Ken. and Hank Dobbins, Pulaski; three sisters, Rose Dobbins, Hanover, Penn., Mallie Whitaker, Pulaski and Barbara Bishop, Radford; many lifelong friends, including David “Bolo” Mannon and Jamie Graham. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Adventa Hospice. A graveside service was held this afternoon at 2 p.m. Nov. 29 in the Hubbard passed away on his 69th birthday, November 28, 2004. He was a U. S. Navy veteran and was retired from Burlington Mills. Survivors include his wife, Linda Price Minnick of Radford; a son, Jerry Christopher Minnick of Dublin; a daughter, Michelle M. Hartsook of Dublin; a sister, Pansy M. Robinson of Radford; two brothers, John Woodrow Minnick and William Franklin Minnick, both of Radford; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. MILDRED SUMLER BANE
PARROTT - Mildred Sumler Bane, 74, of Parrott, death by her parents Edgar D. and Lena Blanche Farmer Sumler.
Survivors include three sons, Leslie D. Bane of Christiansburg, Steve H. Bane, Anthony W. "Tony" of Radford; one daughter Wanda Kay Johns of Roanoke; four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Monday November 29, 2004 at West View passed away Wednesday night at the Veterans Hospital in Salem. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired employee of the Lynchburg Foundry with 30 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Shirley H. Bishop, two sons, Michael Bishop and David Bishop both of Radford, three daughters, Brenda Sowers, Christiansburg, Barbara Treolo, Draper, Karen Neice, Radford, three sisters, Opal Sutphin, Radford, Frankie Moore, Roanoke and Geneva Thompson, Riner, five grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Nov. 27 at 2 p.m. at the West View died peacefully at White Horse Village where she had been a resident since 1991. She was the devoted Mother of David T. Jones and his wife Virginia of Eagleville, Pa. and Kaleen Mayberry and her husband Richard of Yardley, Pa. two granddaughters and two great granddaughters survive her as well. She was preceded in died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004 in the Johnston Memorial Hospital. Mr. Legard was a retired manager of Cash Wholesale Grocery Co. He was a lifelong member of the Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church and served on the Board of the Deacons and Church Session; he was a former Treasurer of the Sunday School and, a former Church Treasurer. Mr. Legard was a star athlete and graduate of Lees-McRae College, and a United States Army Veteran serving in the Pacific Theater of World War II.
Surviving are: his wife, Ruth Rhea Landis Legard, Abingdon, Va.; two sons, John E. Legard, III of Chesterfield, Va., Robert Landis Legard, Abingdon, Va.; sister-in-law, Pauline Legard, Bristol, Va.; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Scott Hutton, Waynesborough, Va., sister-in-law, Pattye Landis, Pulaski, brother-in-law and wife Drs. E. K. and B. J. Landis; many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for John Edwin Legard, Jr. were conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 22 in Knollkreg Memorial Park, Abingdon, Va. Rev. Robert Tolar, Jr. officiated. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church, 136 East Main Street, Abingdon, VA. 24210.
