ROANOKE COUNTY – Laura Clark Holcombe, 82, of Roanoke County, death by her mother, Rebecca Marshall Clark; her father, William Julius Clark, Sr. of Pulaski; and her brother, William Julius Clark, Jr. of Salem. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Marvin E. Holcombe; her daughter, Rebecca H. Harrison of Ashburn, Va.; her sister, Charlotte Miller of Salem; her sister, Susan Burke of Charlotte, N.C. A Interment will follow in Thorn Spring passed away Monday, November 22, 2004 at the New River Valley Medical Center. She is survived by 1 son, Rev. Johnny Howlett and his wife Laverne of Pulaski; 2 daughters, Janie H. Maxwell and her husband Houston of Pulaski, and Janet H. Blankenship and her husband Shelby of Vinton. Also survived by 4 grandchildren Chad Howlett & his wife Angie, Kelly Howlett & his wife Kandi, Clay Howlett & his wife Kelly Sue, & Dawn Blankenship; 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday November 26, 2004 at 8 p.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Alley officiating. Cemetery in Carroll Co., Va. RADFORD - Peter Paul Bakaitis, 77, pased away Wednesday, September 7, 2005. He was a U. S. Navy veteran and was retired from Hercules.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Bakaitis of CA, and Steve Bakaitis of Radford; three daughters, Lee Ann Grubbs of Christiansburg, Pam Hatcher of Pulaski, and Susan Bakaitis of CA; 8 grandchildren; and three sisters, Jessie Brown, Nellie Halgas and Julia Mullens, all of Charleroi, PA.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 12, 2 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Victims of Hurrican Katrina.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.

PULASKI - Derick Kareem Hunter departed this earth on Sunday morning, September 4, 2005. She was death by her sister May Ellen Dickerson Bibb (Kitty). The family would like to especially thank Mary and Troy Honaker, Joyce Hodge, Stafford Hill Church, Jube and Unice Burke, Kenneth Murdock, the nursing staff and IC Unite at Pulaski Community Hospital for all their support, care and help.
There will be a memorial service for all those who want to honor her memory at the church she attended on Saturday, Sept. 10, 6 p.m. at Stafford Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church on Rt. 99 in Pulaski.
There will be signs showing the way to the church.
J. KING HARRISON, JR.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Jesse King Harrison, Jr., 80, born in Coffee County, Ala., on Mar. 24, 1925, and grew up in Pulaski, Va. He has been a Charlotte resident since 1953, when he started his cotton waste and trucking business.
A World War II Veteran, King served in the United States Army in Europe and the Pacific. He was a member of the Shrine Club for over 40 years, and the Elks Club for over 50 years. He was an active member of Myers Park Country Club since 1953. In 1981, King became a member of South Park Christian Church, to which he donated an electronic organ in memory of his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse K. Harrison, Sr. of Pulaski, Va.
He is survived by his children, Lucy Hummers of Greenville, S.C., Stella Harrison of Charlotte, King Harrison III of Atlanta, and Jean Harrison of Asheville; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and sister, Irene Turman of Pulaski.
A celebration of King’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the South Park Christian Church in Charlotte. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution be made to Habitat for Humanity Hurricane Recovery Effort, 121 Habitat Street, Americus, Ga. 31709-3498.
Carolinapassed away Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004. She was death by her husband, George T. Leache of Pulaski. Mrs. Leache was retired from Dublin Garment Company and was a member of First Baptist Church, Pulaski.
Surviving are: her sister, Ella S. Davis, Dublin; nephew and wife, Bob and Wilma Davis, Dublin; nephew, William B. Davis, Pulaski; nieces and husbands, Jean and Joe Ceola, Fincastle, Va., Elizabeth and Zylman Burnett, New Castle, Del., Nancy and Cecil Gobble, Abingdon, Va.; also, many great-nieces and nephews and many great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Cecil Albano officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visiting will be Wednesday at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour. Friends may, also, call at the residence of Bob and Wilma Davis, 5061 Southern Drive, Dublin, Va.
