HAZEL COX
PULASKI – On Nov. 29, 2004 Hazel Elizabeth Dudley Cox left her earthly friends and family to join her Heavenly Father. Mrs. Cox was death by her husband of 52 years Jeff Cox, two sisters, Helen Hindrick and Elsie Conner and brother Henry Dudley.
Mrs. Cox leaves to honor her memory children Gary and Glenna Cox, Pulaski and Tim Cox, Wytheville. Granddaughters and spouses, Lee C. and Ken Coldicotte, Memphis, Tenn., Sunnie C. and Marc de’Bearn, Heidelberg, Germany, and a grandson Jeffrey Todd Cox, Camp Shelby, Miss. Five great-grandchildren, Charlie Sittig, Memphis, Jon de’Bearn, Nichole de’Bearn, Alex de’Bearn, Heidelberg, and Brandon Coldicotte, Memphis. A number of cousins, nieces and nephews and her cherished friends Woodson Hall and Debbie Valhos and family.
Mrs. Cox was a life long resident of Pulaski County. Her work career began after high school and business college with RCA Corporation of Pulaski, in the order and accounting department. Mrs. Cox was a retired 25-year employee of the Federal Government as a registration clerk of the Selective Service Local Draft Board #101. Mrs. Cox worked in her post retirement years with Dr. James Hylton.
Mrs. Cox had a green thumb and was an avid gardner and she appreciated a well-mown lawn. She spent many happy hours cleaning and grooming the grounds around her home of 52 years. Mrs. Cox and her husband Jeff enjoyed fishing and entertaining friends. She was a member of the Newbern Methodist Church and was the Treasurer and Communion Steward. Mrs. Cox was a faithful worker at the Newbern Fall Festival and devoted her fall season to the event.
The family will receive friends Thursday Dec. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Stevens Funeral Home of Pulaski. Funeral services will take place Friday, Dec. 3 at 11 a.m. at the Newbern Methodist Church. Cemetery.

CLYDE CLEVELAND BRUCE
RADFORD - Clyde Cleveland Bruce, age 89 of 6990 Belspring Road, Radford Born November 1, 1915 in Pearisburg, Va., he was the son of the late Nellie Rowe Bruce and George Cleveland Bruce. He was a long-time member of the Belspring United Methodist Church where he was an active participant in all ministries of the church. He was a retired employee of Radford Army Ammunition Plant where he served in the sprinkler dept., as well as a very active member of the union having served as past president, and many terms as vice-president. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of the Virginia May Masonic Lodge #38 A.F.& A.M., where he recently received his sixty-year pin, and a member of the Pulaski Royal Arch Chapter. He served as Chairman of the Advisory Council for the Agency on Aging for many years until his recent illness, and had served on the New River Valley Planning District Commission. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin where the Virginia May Masonic Lodge will conduct graveside rites. Visiting will be held Thursday at the Belspring United Methodist Church from 6 until 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted, but for those who wish, they may make memorials to the Belspring United Methodist Church P.O. WILLIAM RAY EDMONDS, SR.
MAX MEADOWS – William Ray Edmonds, Sr., also lovingly known to many as “Preacher Bill” of Max Meadows, Va. born on Dec. 24, 1948 in Wythe County and he was the son of the late R. Burial will follow in the West End died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004 at Fork Mountain Rest Home, Rocky Mount. death by her husband, Charles Buford Thompson, Sr.; brother, Lawrence Hagee; half sister, Laura Creger LaBrecque; half brother, DeWitt Creger; and one great-grandson. She is survived by sons, Charles B. Thompson, Jr., (Joan) Coatsville, PA, and Stephen K. Thompson, Dallas, Texas; daughters Gerri T. Andrews, Roanoke, Eleanor T. Meredith (Charles), Rocky Mount, Yvonne T. Grey (Delton), Florence, SC, Susan T. Chumbley (Boyd), Summerfield, NC; one half brother, Claude Hurley Creger (Jackie), Narrows; she is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Thompson was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and was instrumental in the establishment of both Trinity Baptist Church and New Hope Baptist Church, all of Pulaski. She served God faithfully for over 70 years and her life was a testament for her family and friends. She will be remembered by the following scripture passages; Psalms 121:1, Romans 8:28, and Proverbs 31:27-30. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Memorial Fund of New Hope Baptist Church, c/o Louise Rutherford, Treas. 5684 Alum Spring Road, Pulaski, VA 24301. A memorial service will be conducted from New Hope Baptist Church 2 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2005. Arrangements by Florapassed away Monday, Dec. 19, 2004 at his home. He was preceded in Interment will follow in the Pentecostal Conference born July 15, 1940 in Snowville, Virginia, a son of the late Herman Edward Elkins and Daisy Pearl Owens Elkins. Mr. Elkins was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and was a retired owner of The Hair Porte Barber Shop.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years; two daughters, Rebekah Sato and Angela Freeman both of Goose Creek; a son, Brian Elkins of Jedberg, SC; a sister, Louise Gilly of Dublin, VA; two brothers, Curtis Elkins of Dublin, VA and Billy Elkins of Pulaski, VA. Mr. Elkins is also survived by eight grandchildren.
ELOISE BINDSCHADLER SEAGLE
PULASKI - Eloise Bindschadler Seagle, of Pulaski Born in Cordelle, GA she was the daughter of the late Jean Smithheart Bindschadler and Jacob Bindschadler. She was a retired employee at Radford Army Ammunition Plant. She was a member of the First Christian Church, C.W.F., Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #113, Womans Club, Volunteer work at Pulaski Hospital, bloodmobile, Chamber of Commerce, Fine Arts Center, Pulaski Senior Center, and the Extention Office. She was preceded in Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Winn officiating. The family will briefly receive friends at the born in Carroll County on May 30, 1904 and he was the son of the late Sterling Hanks and Lula Alderman Hanks. he was also preceded in Funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church, Pulaski with Dr. Randy Frye officiating. She was death by her husband of 51 years, George Taylor and by a son, Donald Taylor. She was a charter member of the St. Edwards Catholic Church, Pulaski.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Nancy Taylor of Dublin and John and Joyce Taylor of Max Meadows; sisters Margaret and Carol Komar of New Windsor, New York; brother Frank Komar of New Windsor, New York; grandchildren Donna Roe, Angie Hill, Sarah Taylor, Paul Taylor, Ellie Taylor, J.D. Taylor, Mary Taylor, and Grayce Taylor; and great-grandchildren Pyper Roe, Peyton Hill, and Tyler Hill.
A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. from the Saint Edwards Catholic Church with Father Charles Faul officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 6 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. Tuesday evening. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.

CHERYLDINE SUE “CHERIE” YOCUM
MONTICELLO, IN - Cheryldine Sue “Cherie” Yocum born on February 17, 1949, the daughter of the late Norman L. Maret and Peggy Lorraine Mark.

PULASKI – Clyde Lester Hanks, 100, of Pulaski passed away Sunday, December 12, 2004 in Hampton, VA. She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church and was a retired public school teacher with 37 years of service in Montgomery County and Bedford County. She was preceded in Interment will follow in the Sunrise Burial Park in Radford. Mrs. Hopkins will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. HIWASSEE - Everett Johnson Dalton, age 66 of 3780 Lead Mine Road, Hiwassee Born Dec. 10, 1938 in Draper, Virginia he was the son of the late Garfield Dalton. A son, Larry Dalton, also preceded him in Interment will follow at the Dishon Family Cemetery (Snowville). The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bobwhite Blvd., Pulaski.
