HELEN BURCHETT WALLER
PULASKI - Helen Burchett Waller, age 80 of 4513 Old Stage Road, Pulaski passed away Friday, August 19, 2005. He was a member of the West Radford Church of God and was employed at Therma Steel. He was also a U. S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Dreama Robins Christian of Radford; a son, David Hassell Christian of Portsmouth; two grandchildren; four brothers, Ralph Christian of Draper, Roger Christian of Tazewell, Carson Hilton of Alabama, and Ray Hilton of Dublin; four sisters, Gertrude Carter of Dublin, Dorothy Hardy of War, WV, Drema Charron of Stephensville, MD, and Charlotte Christian of Tazewell; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 22, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the West Radford Church of God with Rev. Arthur Harris officiating. Cemetery in Radford where members of V. F. W. Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the West Radford Church of God.

Arrangements are in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.

RONALD J. 'DADDY RON' HARRISON
ST. PETERSBURG, FL - Ronald J. "Daddy Ron" Harrison, 70 of St. Petersburg, Florida Born to the late Friel Harrison and Thelma Scott Harrison both of Radford, Virginia. He was Christian by faith and served honorably in the U.S. Army. He retired after 40 years as a Floor Covering Installer and worked for Wholesale Carpets in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was an avid N.A.S.C.A.R. fan and enjoyed building race cars driven at the Sunshine Speedway in Florida.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Shirley Harrison of St. Petersburg, Florida; one daughter, Sandy Baptist-Burris of St. Petersburg, Florida; one son, Ronnie Harrison, Jr. of St. Petersburg, Florida; two sisters, Ellen Southern of Radford, Virginia and Shirley Minnick of Evington, Virginia and two grandsons.

Funeral Services were Tuesday, August 16, 2005 with Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Florida. Services entrusted to Gee & Sorensen Funeral Home, St. Petersburg, Florida.

EDGAR MAURICE 'BUTCHIE' TURMAN
HIWASSEE - Edgar Maurice "Butchie" Turman, age 68 of 1556 Allisonia Road, Hiwassee Born May 17, 1937 in Pulaski he was the son of the late Edgar Lemon and Ruth Allison Turman. A retired employee of VDOT, Edgar had 42 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Turman of Hiwassee; sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Tina Turman of Allisonia and Brian and Angie Turman of Floyd; one daughter, Misty Turman of Allisonia; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Diana Turman of Dublin; one sister and brother-in-law, Judy and David Coffman of Bridgewater, VA; eight grandchildren, Rusty, Brandi, Cody, Candi, Haley, Briana, Christian and Noel; several nieces, nephews and close friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. Granville Bishop and David Shumate officiating. passed away Friday, August 19, 2005 at her home. death by her husband, Harry Albert Lawson; Son, Mitch Lawson; Sisters, Maycle Gulley and Brenda Minton; Brothers, Dennis Maddy, Horace Oliver "Sonny Boy" Maddy, Harold Maddy, James Maddy, Ronnie Maddy, and Horace Oliver "Skeeter" Maddy; Brothers-in-law, Jim Effler, Pete Gulley and one Sister-in-law, Donna Maddy.
Survivors include one daughter, Teresa Lawson Denny of Pulaski; one granddaughter, Hope Denny of Knoxville, TN; three grandsons, Gabriel Denny of Knoxville, TN, Philip Denny of Richmond and Christopher Denny of Pulaski; two brothers, David Maddy of Taylorsville, NC and Donald Maddy of Granite Falls, NC; three sisters, Patricia Effler of Nebo, NC, Barbara Carol Shivley of Atlanta, GA, and Linda Trivett of Hudson, NC; three sisters-in-law, Sally Maddy of Hudson, NC, Beulah Rupe of Pulaski and Mrs. Morris (Joanne) Lawson of Pulaski; one brother-in-law, Darrell Minton of Hudson, NC; several nieces and nephews; and a special pet, "Sugar."

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the River of Life Pentecostal Church, Dublin with the Rev. Philip Denny officiating. Cemetery, Pulaski. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday evening at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bobwhite Blvd., Pulaski.

JIMMIE REGINALD CLARK, SR.
BARREN SPRINGS - Jimmie Reginald Clark, Sr., age 67, of Barren Springs, Va., born July 29, 1938 in West Virginia, son of the late Emmett Troy, Sr. and Nollie Helen Perdue Clark.

He is survived by four children, Earl Allen Clark of Newport News, Regina Lynn Cobb, Lisa Ann Clark, and Jimmie Reginald Clark, Jr., all of Chesapeake; four grandchildren; one sister, Peggy Jo Hardin of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Emmett Troy Clark, Jr. of Farmville and Herman K. Clark of Wythe County.

Services and burial will be private. Arrangements by Reese Funeral Home,

GLENN THOMAS CROWDER
PULASKI – Glenn Thomas Crowder, 56, 4658 Davis Hollow Road, Pulaski born in Pulaski on Mar. 24, 1948 and he was the son of the late Garnett Fields Crowder, Sr. and Virginia Beatrice Neece Crowder. He was also preceded in Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Thornspring passed away Monday, December 13, 2004 at the New River Valley Medical Center. She was preceded in Interment will follow in Palatka Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Joy Ranch, P. O. Box 727, Hillsville, VA 24343. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Masters Funeral Home and also from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford, VA.

RAYMOND CLIFFORD MOORE
RADFORD - Raymond Clifford Moore, 81 of Radford, Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin, where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.

LILLIE SHOCKLEY ALDERMAN
PULASKI – Lillie Shockley Alderman, 89, of Pulaski and formerly of Draper born in Carroll County on July 27, 1915 and was the daughter of the late John M. Shockley and Blanche Dalton Shockley. She was also preceded in Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jim Linkous officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Friday evening from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. The family wishes that memorials be made to the Faith Bible Church, 110 Lagrange Street, Pulaski, Va. 24301.

AGNES RUPE GLEASON
DRAPER – Agnes Rupe Gleason, age 88 of 4167 Old Route 100, Draper passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2004. He was preceded in Cemetery in Greensboro, NC. Arrangements by Lambeth Troxler Funeral Home in Greensboro, NC.

EDYTHE ALEXANDER JEWELL
CHRISTIANSBURG - Edythe Alexander Jewell, age 97, of Christiansburg fell asleep in Jesus, Wednesday, December 29th at the Pulaski Health Care Center. She was Interment will follow in the Appalachian Pentecostal Holiness funeral service, Christiansburg (382-2612).

PETER ROBERT SLAUGHTER
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Peter Robert Slaughter formerly of Draper, Va. and son of the late James Albert and Juanita Stigger Slaughter departed this life on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004 at his home in South Orange, N.J. He was Funeral service will be Monday, Jan. 3 at the New Hope Baptist Church, South Orange, N.J.

RADFORD - Cynthia Rose Austin Goad, 30 of Radford, went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 27, 2004. She was a member of Fairlawn Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband, Michael C. Goad of Radford; a son, Tyler Darin Goad of Radford; her father and step-mother, Jerry and Betty Austin of Blacksburg; her mother and step-father, Sarah and Garland Campbell of Dublin; a sister, Sherrie Austin of Maui, Hawaii. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 30, 2004 at 8:00 p.m. at the Fairlawn Presbyterian Church with Rev. Terry Woodard officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday evening at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Fairlawn Presbyterian Church or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. NEWBERN - George Thomas Harman, 69 of Newbern, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2004. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran and was employed at Lynchburg Foundry. Survivors include two daughters, Susie Jarrells of Dublin and Mary Ann Dowdy of Christiansburg; two sons, Thomas Harman of Newbern and Henry Hopkins, Jr. of Pearisburg; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Alice Kinder of Tazewell. Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 30, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin with Rev. James "Beaver" Terry, Jr. officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
