PULASKI – Hope Ramsey Hudson, 31, of 35 Pine Hill Trailer Park, Pulaski born in Radford on Dec. 8, 1973 and was the daughter of the late Jefferson Lee Ramsey and Shirley Lucille Wall Ramsey.
Surviving are: her husband, Jeffrey Dean Hudson, Pulaski; sister and brother-in-law, Rebekah R. and Donald Taylor, Pulaski; step-mother, Frances Ramsey, Pulaski; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Melvin and Glenna Hudson, Snowville; four nephews; one sister-in-law; three brothers-in-law.
There will be a visitation at Stevens Funeral Home Tuesday where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
Following the visitation Mrs. Hudson will be cremated. There will be a memorial service at a later date.

PULASKI - Eddie Randolph Horton, age 71, of Pulaski, Born March 27, 1933 in Pulaski, he was the son of the late Gilbert Horton and Margaret Reed Horton. Three brothers, Raymond Horton, June Horton and Clarence Horton, also preceded him in Interment will follow at Hufford passed away Saturday, January 15, 2005 at his home.

PULASKI - Norma Louise Dawson, age 83 of 314 Carriage Hill Drive Pulaski, Born July 11, 1921 in Livingston County, IL, she was the daughter of the late Clara Henning Lommatzsch and Elmer Lommatzsch. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Blacksburg, Va. (Matthew) Brown of Christianburg, Va; surviving siblings, Nathaniel Slaughter of Pulaski, VA, Douglas T. (Mary) Slaughter of Draper, VA, Joyce S. (Ronald) Thompson of Dale City, Va and Joseph M. (Tokey) Slaughter of Pulaski, Va. Funeral services will be Noon Monday, January 31, 2005 at Church of God, Bob White Blvd., Pulaski, Va with Rev. Two granddaughters, Lauren McPeake and Erin McPeake. Former husband and children's father, William "Bill" Mabe, Sr. of Dublin. Sisters and brother-in-law, Geraldine "Jerry" Russell of Christiansburg and Daphine and Mike McPeak of Hiwassee. Brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny Shelton, Jr. and Brenda Shelton of Pulaski; J.B. Shelton and Shirley Shelton of Christiansburg; Leslie Shelton and Jeanie Shelton of Pulaski.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 7 p.m. at the Pulaski Church of God with Pastor Jerry Collins officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 p.m. until time of service at the church.

DUBLIN – Imogene Shelton Mabe, age 67 of 5453 Mitchell Drive, Dublin born Sept. 25, 1945 in Washington, D.C., the son of the late James W. Bruce and Mary E. Bruce. He attended the public schools of Pulaski, Va. He was a retired employee of the Lynchburg Foundry in Radford, with over thirty years of service. He was preceded in Cemetery. Penn’s Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

HIWASSEE - Gladys Cox Phillips, 88, death by her parents, Walker and Lacona Cox and her husband of 69 years, Herman G. Phillips. Survivors include a daughter, Eldean Thornton Burke of Christiansburg; four sisters, Alma Neece of Radford, Sylvia Minnick of Hampton, June Franklin of Radford, and Clestoria Adams of Blacksburg; 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cornersview Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Frankie Graham officiating. Cemetery in Dublin. DR. E. K. LANDIS
FORT SMITH, AR – Dr. E. K. Landis, 74, of Fort Smith, born June 17, 1930 in Pulaski, VA.
He graduated from Hampton-Sydney College, Virginia Polytechnic Institute, and earned his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Tech in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Dr. Landis was an Emeritus Professor at the University of Alabama where he held teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities during his 35 year tenure there. He worked with the Redstone Arsenal in development of solid rocket fuel used for the Space Program and was a consultant with the U. S. Bureau of Mines in Tuscaloosa, AL for many years before his retirement.
He was a quiet, unassuming man with a quick wit and engaging sense of humor. Devoted to his family, he was a much loved husband, father and grandfather and he will be sorely missed.
He was a member of the Fianna Hills Baptist Church and valued the Christian fellowship there. A member of the noon Exchange Club, he enjoyed meeting with friends each week. Dr. Landis was an organ donor with the ARORA Program.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dr. B. J. Landis of Fort Smith, three sons; Scott Landis and his wife Dana of Houston, Texas; Dr. Doug Landis of Baltimore, Md., and Andy Landis of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren of Houston; two sisters; Ruth Rhea Legard of Abingdon, VA and Helen Hutton of Waynesboro, VA.
A Memorial Service Celebrating the life of Dr. Landis will be held at the Fianna Hills Baptist Church on Friday, Jan. 28 at 10 a.m. with the Reverend Ken Stadler officiating under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Burial will be at the College Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Oxford, MS on Saturday, Jan. 29 at noon under the direction of the Waller Funeral Home of Oxford, MS.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.
