ODELL “BO” BOND
RADFORD – Odell “Bo” Bond, age 84 born June 4, 1920 in Bedford County and as an adult, moved to Radford, Va. He retired from Lynchburg Foundry with 16 years of service. He was a member of the New Mount Olive United Methodist Church in Radford and a member of the Pride of Radford Lodge #281 until his illness prevented participation. He had a loving heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. Mr. Bond was preceded in Interment will follow at the Sunrise died Friday evening January 21, 2005 in Orange City Florida. death by her husband, Sherman Clinton Lyons. She is survived by one son; Richard C. Lyons of Orange City, Florida: one daughter; Lisa Thompson and her husband Bruce of Nashville, TN: three brothers; Denny Edwards and his wife Charlene of Knoxville, TN, Hensel McNew and his wife Pauline of Dublin, and David McNew of Radford: five sisters; Betty Farmer and her husband Frank of Dublin, Dorothy Weller of Dublin, Cozene Martin of Roanoke, Sandra Armbrister and her husband Terry of Louisville, KY, and Sharon Reed and her husband Ricky of Christiansburg. Also survived by four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 26, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Shoenenman officiating. passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2005 in the New River Valley Medical Center. She was preceded in Cemetery.

Sharon will be taken to the Riverview Church of God where the family will receive friends Monday from 5:30 p.m. until service time.

The family suggests that those who prefer may make memorial contributions to the Riverview Church of God.

Reese Funeral Home, Austinville, Va. is in charge of arrangements.

GLADYS McNEW LYONS
ORANGE CITY, FLA. - Gladys McNew Lyons, age 76 of Orange City, Florida, formerly of Pulaski Co., Born September 29, 1928 in Pulaski, she was the daughter of the late Irene Poole McNew and Maynard McNew. She was a member of the Newbern United Methodist Church and an Eastern Star Member. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visiting will be anytime Tuesday after 4:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted, but for those who wish they may make memorial contributions to the Greater Pulaski Alliance 20 South Washington Avenue, Pulaski, Virginia 24301 or to any local charity.

PULASKI - Martin Mack Dutton, age 87 formerly of 1501 Grove Drive, Pulaski passed away Thursday, January 20, 2005 at the Pulaski Health Care Center.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Francis Phillips McCraw; three children, Pat King of Claytor Lake, Shirley Morgan of Radford, and Jack McCraw of Claytor Lake; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Truman was a supervisor for Burlington Industries for 47 years and past superintendent of Calvary Baptist Church. He loved hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren, and above all, he loved "his church". Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. O. D. Morgan and Rev. D. O. Weaver officiating. died on Friday, February 4, 2005. She was passed away Friday, February 4, 2005 peacefully at home on the farm where he was Born June 6, 1935 to the late Roscoe Vanover and Ruby Shelburne Shanklin, Jim graduated from Auburn High School and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a line foreman for RAAP and was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a daughter, Jennifer, wives Peggy and Frances, and a sister, Betty Sue. Left to cherish his memory are one son, Gregory Shanklin of Snowville; two daughters, Katie Mitchell of Salem and Tina Shanklin of Hampstead, NC; four grandchildren, Mrs. Franklin (Tori) Holt of Hampstead, NC, Mathew Lancaster of Galveston, TX, Taylor Mitchell of Salem, and Dylan Shanklin of Hampstead, NC; on great-granddaughter, Julia Holt of Hampstead, NC; two sisters and one brother; and a host of other family and friends. The family would like to thank all the relatives and friends and Gentle Sheppard Hospice for their help during Jim’s illness. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 6, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Snowville Baptist Church with Rev. Neil Wood officiating. Cemetery in Hiwassee. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Snowville Baptist Church Building Fund. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.

BEULAH WADE WALKER
RADFORD - Beulah Wade Walker, 90, of Radford, death by her husband, Clyde H. Walker. Survivors include a son, Charles R. Walker of Penhook; and a special nephew, Edgar Akers of Radford. Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rockford passed away Saturday, January 29, 2005 in Northridge Hospital in California. She was preceded in Interment will follow in West View passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2005. He leaves behind his wife, Nancy M. Cassell; three children Crystal L. Dalton, Joseph C. Cassell and Lucy A. Cassell; his mother, Lola Cassell; two brothers, Arthur S. Cassell and Daniel G. Cassell; two sisters, Julia Duncan and Annie P. Gravely. Memorial services will be held at the home, 136 West Avenue, Dublin on Friday, February 4, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. He will be greatly missed. Arrangements by Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory.

May, Craigsville, Va., Wayland T. May, Miller’s Creek, Va., Ricky D. and Maria Pruitt, Sylvatus, Va.; brothers, Henry and Ollie May, Hurley, Va., Troy May, Sylvatus, Va., Alfred May, Michigan, Harless and Grace May, Jacksonville, Fla., Jimmy May, Mitchell’s Crossroads, Va., LeRoy and Karen May, Dugspur, Va.; sisters, Edna Hurley, Dugspur, Va., Ethel Hurley, Hurley, Va., Shirley Burridge, Ohio; grandchildren, Tonya and Mitch McGee, Ryan H. Funeral services will be held Friday 2 p.m. at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Rev. Dale Akers officiating. Cemetery, Sylvatus.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bobwhite Blvd., and Pulaski.
