RADFORD – Odell “Bo” Bond, age 84 born June 4, 1920 in Bedford County and as an adult, moved to Radford, Va. He retired from Lynchburg Foundry with 16 years of service. He was a member of the New Mount Olive United Methodist Church in Radford and a member of the Pride of Radford Lodge #281 until his illness prevented participation. He had a loving heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. Also survived by four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 26, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Shoenenman officiating. passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2005 in the New River Valley Medical Center. She was preceded in Cemetery.
Sharon will be taken to the Riverview Church of God where the family will receive friends Monday from 5:30 p.m. until service time.

ORANGE CITY, FLA. - Gladys McNew Lyons, age 76 of Orange City, Florida, formerly of Pulaski Co., Born September 29, 1928 in Pulaski, she was the daughter of the late Irene Poole McNew and Maynard McNew. She was a member of the Newbern United Methodist Church and an Eastern Star Member. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Truman was a supervisor for Burlington Industries for 47 years and past superintendent of Calvary Baptist Church. He loved hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren, and above all, he loved "his church". She was passed away Friday, February 4, 2005 peacefully at home on the farm where he was Born June 6, 1935 to the late Roscoe Vanover and Ruby Shelburne Shanklin, Jim graduated from Auburn High School and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a line foreman for RAAP and was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a daughter, Jennifer, wives Peggy and Frances, and a sister, Betty Sue. Left to cherish his memory are one son, Gregory Shanklin of Snowville; two daughters, Katie Mitchell of Salem and Tina Shanklin of Hampstead, NC; four grandchildren, Mrs. Franklin (Tori) Holt of Hampstead, NC, Mathew Lancaster of Galveston, TX, Taylor Mitchell of Salem, and Dylan Shanklin of Hampstead, NC; on great-granddaughter, Julia Holt of Hampstead, NC; two sisters and one brother; and a host of other family and friends. The family would like to thank all the relatives and friends and Gentle Sheppard Hospice for their help during Jim’s illness.
