RADFORD – Beatrice Mitchell Covington, age 69, of Radford, departed this life on Monday, Mar. 28, 2005. Funeral arrangements are pending at Penn’s Funeral Home.

AUSTINVILLE – Ernest Carl Freeman, age 80, of Austinville, Va. born in Floyd County Oct. 3, 1924, son of the late Alvin and Lillian Underwood Freeman. He was a member of Pickett Chapel Church of God, was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and was retired from Neuhoff Farms.
Surviving are: his wife, Oakie Dalton Freeman; four sons, George Freeman, Carlyle Freeman, Dillard Freeman, Ricky Freeman all of Pulaski; three daughters, Ernestine Dunford, Dublin, Faye Dean, Bland, Arlene Haga, Little Creek; three step-daughters, Myrtle Smith, Max Meadows, Della Mabry, Foster Falls, Kathy Shupe, Hillsville; one step-son, William York, Max Meadows; three half-sisters and two half brothers. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Mar. 29, at 2 p.m. in the Reese Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Stuart officiating Cemetery. Grover King Post #1115, VFW will conduct graveside military rites. The family will receive friends at the Reese Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.

MAMIE ANNE LYONS STONE
STUART - Mamie Anne Lyons Stone, 83, of 149 Landmark Drive, Stuart, VA and formerly of Stones Dairy Road, Bassett, VA, Born July 28, 1921, in Henry County, VA, she was the daughter of Albert Foy Lyons and Delia Harrell Lyons, both deceased. In 1996, she retired from Stanley Furniture after 22 years service and was also of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday, March 29, 2005, one hour prior to the service at McKee-Stone Funeral Services and other times at the home of her son, Lee Stone, 2590 John Baker Road, Fieldale, VA.

ROANOKE - Annie Staton “Rooney” Muire, age 88 of Roanoke, formerly of Pulaski, Born October 25, 1916 in Pulaski, she was the daughter of the late Annie Staton Muire and Mason Edward Muire. She was a retired secretary to the President of Pulaski Furniture Corp., a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church, Pulaski, and was very active in the creation of the C.E. Richardson Foundation. Surviving are his wife Ruth Sifford Gravley, Parrot; two daughters and sons-in law, Joan and Rusty McCoy, Dublin and Mary and Rocky Cullop, Patas Kala, Ohio; four sons, Rickey Gravley and wife Diane of Dublin, Dalvin Gravley, Ken Gravley, and Tony Gravley and his wife Donna of Parrot; one brother, Henry Gravley of Cleveland, Ohio; and three sisters, Hazel Stoots and Mae Cresell of Parrot, and Mildred Palmer of Dublin. Eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at 2 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Thornspring United Methodist Church died Saturday morning, March 26, 2005. She is met in Heaven by family who went before her, her parents, William A. Stoots and Gertrude Worrell Stoots; her son, Billy Cylde Davis, Sr.; grandson Billy Cylde Davis, Jr.; three brothers, Robert, George, and Orel Stoots; five sisters, Hazel Stoots, Laura Duncan, Mamie Simmerman, Dondee Swecker, and Bessie Turner. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she leaves many wonderful and caring friends. “You wait on one Angel to open Heavens door and Eddie was that Angel to many of us.”
She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Robert Lee “Red” - “Shorty” Jones of Pulaski; son and daughter-in-law Jim and Cynthia Davis of Pulaski; daughters and sons-in-law Debbie and Steve Primm of Speedwell, Vickie and Perry Gray of Pulaski, and Cookie and Richard Johnston of Pulaski; brothers Dexter R. Stoots of Pulaski and Coy H. Stoots of barren Springs; sisters Violet Viars of Bassett and Threcia “Dot” Matney of Dublin; and 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

DECATUR – Funeral for Katherine “Kitty” Fisher Terry, 78, of Decatur will be Friday, Mar. 25, 2005, at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Sherry Harris officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn died Wednesday, Mar. 23, 2005, at Decatur Health and Rehabilitation. She was death by her husband, Claude Wallace Terry, Sr.; one brother, Wyse Jimmy Fisher; and one sister, Dawn Cole.
Survivors include her companion, Henry Ford McConnell of Decatur; two sons, C. Wallace “Wally” Terry, Jr. and his wife, Glenn and James Richard “Rick” Terry and his wife, Lisa, all of Decatur; two sisters, Elizabeth Andrews and her husband, Carl of Pulaski, Va., and Becky Dalton of Knoxville, Tenn.; two brothers, Ivan “Doug” Fisher and his wife, Allene, of Decatur, and John Fisher and his wife, Norma, of Pulaski, Va.; and four grandchildren, Jenny Roby and her husband, Whitt, of Decatur, Amanda Faulk and her husband, Andy, of Dothan, and Ross Terry and Patrick Terry, both of Decatur.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the American Legion, VFW and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
