CHESTER - Randel H. Martin, 77, of Chester, formerly of Dublin, Va. born in Pulaski, Va. and was the son of the late Posey and Pearl Goad Martin. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was retired from Allied Chemical. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn W. Martin; three daughters, Vickie M. Jones of Chester, Mary Mathis of Wytheville, Va. and Deborah M. Babukovic of Enon; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Lee Martin of Tampa, Fla. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Mar. 16 at 2 p.m. in the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Everett Holloway and Rev. J. R. DeHart officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park.

RADFORD – Betty Palmer Hall wife of Dr. Glenn C. Hall, Jr. born Oct. 16, 1926 in Fayetteville, N.C. and was the daughter of W. S. Palmer and Frances Wilkins Palmer. Betty spent her early life in South Hill, Va. where she graduated from South Hill High School. She attended James Madison University for two years before transferring to the University of Virginia. She graduated from the University of Virginia School of Nursing in 1949. She was a head nurse at the University of Virginia Medical Center. In 1949 she Cemetery in Pulaski, Va. ANSEL DEAN SHUFFLEBARGER
PULASKI – Ansel Dean Shufflebarger, 76, of Pulaski, Va. born in Pulaski, Va. on Jan. 16, 1929 and was the son of the late Clarence Shufflebarger and Enola Dawson Shufflebarger. Mr. Shufflebarger was a retired CPA and a veteran of the Armed Services.
Surviving are: three nieces, Diane Hunter, Madison, Ala., Kim Polly, Rancho Cordova, Calif., Sherri Langelier, Pulaski, Va.
Mr. Shufflebarger will be cremated. There will be no service. Burial will be private and at a later date.

BARREN SPRINGS – India Jane Martin McNeely, age 92, of Barren Springs, Va. born in Carroll County June 18, 1912, daughter of the late Isaiah and June Vass Martin. She was of the Missionary Baptist Faith and attended Glenwood UMC. Mrs. McNeely retired from Park-Belk with 25 years service and was preceded in interment will follow in the Webb died Saturday evening March 19, 2005 at her daughter’s home in Draper, Va. She was interment will be held in Oakwood born in Wilder, Virginia on October 4, 1918. Earl was well known for his strong dedication to his family. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, was a lieutenant on the Security Police Department with the Radford Arsenal for 38 years and retired on disability in 1980. He was also an ex-prizefighter and won 130 bouts out of 140, and fought under the name of "Kid Hatcher" from 1934 to 1946. He was a columnist writer with the Radford News Journal in Radford for over five years and the Southwest Times in Pulaski for six years. He had a book published in 1993 called the "Memories Of An Old West Virginia Hillbilly". He was preceded in Interment will follow in the Sunrise Burial Park in Radford. DUBLIN - Deborah Gene McDaniel, 47, death by her father, Wiley Eugene Neighbors and her step-father, Benny Simpkins. Survivors include her husband, Charles T. McDaniel; three daughters, Kim Allen, Kari McDaniel and Whitney McDaniel, all of Dublin; a son, Kody McDaniel of Dublin; her mother, Janet Linkous Simpkins; two grandsons; two brothers, Roger Simpkins, and Benny W. Simpkins, both of Radford; two sisters, Vonda Griffitts of Radford, and Wanda Holifield of Roanoke. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 8, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Pastor J. P. Hale officiating. Cemetery in Radford. DRAPER – Harry Thomas Nester, Sr. age 80 of Draper Born June 18, 1924 in Roanoke, Virginia he was the son of the late Frank and Lucy McGlothlin Nester. Four brothers, Paul Nester, Carl Nester and twin-brothers, Benny and Billy Nester also preceded him in funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Sayers-Oglesby died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at his home. He was death by his wife of 50 years, Lois Hoback. Mr. Hoback was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict.

BARREN SPRINGS – Vivian Elwood Landreth, age 67, of Barren Springs, Va. born April 29, 1937 in Pulaski, Va. He was a charter member of Fort Chiswell Church of God. He was preceded in Interment will follow in Landreth Family passed away Mar. 31, 2005 at her home in Pulaski. Oreta was death by her husband of 52 years, John W. Hill, Jr. She is survived by her brother, Larry Stuart, a daughter, Joy Heighes; a son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Kiki Hill; a grandson and his wife, Michael and Deanna Hill; a great-granddaughter, Ashley Hill and longtime devoted friends Jimmy and Marie Babb, and Donnie and Barbara Nixon.
According to her wishes, no memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family request expressions of sympathy be a kind deed for someone you love.
