Surviving children include a son and two daughters, Roger Walker and Judy P. Stephens of Richmond, and Ellen S. Mitchell of Charlotte, NC and Alice S. and Henry M. Burgess of Farmington Hills, MI; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Lockerby officiating. passed away Saturday, September 17, 2005 at his home.

Mr. Porterfield was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He was retired from the Town of Pulaski with 33 years of service where he was the superintendent over the water filtration plant for the town.
Surviving are: his wife of 58 years, Lorene Jones Porterfield, Pulaski; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Wayne and Betty Jo Porterfield, Pulaski, Harrison Thomas and Eva L. Porterfield, Pulaski; two special grandsons, Eric Lee Porterfield, Douglas Beverly; brother, John Peyton Porterfield, Dublin; sister and brother-in-law, Marnie and Garnett Fagg, Pulaski.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday 11 a. m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Rev. Dale Akers officiating. died Monday, September 12th, 2005 at Brier Oak On Sunset, in Los Angeles, following a brief illness.
Mr. Smith was death by a brother, Bobby Smith; two sisters, Evelyn Quesenberry and Lillian Thompson.
A memorial service will be conducted at the at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21.

NEWBERN - Berman Junior East, age 84 of 4870 Towes Ferry Road, Newbern Born April 21, 1921 in Pulaski County he was the son of the late Harvey P. and Viola Mae Thornton East. His wife Clarice Mildred Graham East, two sisters; Virginia East and an infant sister, and one brother, Sherman East also preceded him in Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin where the VFW Post #1184 will conduct full military honors. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bobwhite Blvd., Pulaski.

GRETNA, VA. – Phillmon Mark Covey, age 64 of Gretna, Va. and formerly of Hiwassee Born June 25, 1941 in Hiwassee, he was the son of the late James Harvey Covey and Lou O’Dell Covey. His brothers, Landon Covey, Early Covey, Joseph Covey and James Covey also preceded him in Interment will follow in the Homeplace Family died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005 in the Pulaski Community Hospital. He was death by his wife, Shirley Bishop Williams and brothers, Charles Allen Williams and James Howard “Jim” Williams. He was a retired employee of Pulaski Furniture.
Surviving are: his children, Pamela “Sissy” Clark, N.C. and fiancé David Shelton, Edgar Lee Williams, Jr., (Fat Rat), Pulaski, Tammy Williams and fiancé Ed Edwards and his daughter Emily Edwards, Max Meadows; brothers and their families, Frank and Martha Jean Williams, Pulaski, Ray Rosevelt and June Williams, S.C., Marvin Wayne and Betty Williams, Tampa, Fla., Billy Gene Williams, Pulaski, Donald Earl Williams, Bristol, Tenn.; sisters, Charlotte Cross, Pulaski, Ruby Worley, Bristol, Tenn.; special sisters-in-law, Marlene Williams, Jean Williams; very special friend, Donald Clark; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Yoder and his staff for their special care of Mr. Williams.

Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin with military honors at the graveside. The family will receive friends Friday from 1 p.m. until time of the service.
