LYNCHBURG, May 6 - Richard Payne dark Born August 16, 1921 in Prince Edward County at "Ingleside", the ancestral Watkins Home, he was a son of the late John Alexander and Susie Evans Watkins Clark.
He was a graduate of Black - stone Military Academy and was a US Air Force Veteran, having served in the CBI Theater during World War II. He was retired from Campbell Insurance Agency and a member of Rivermont Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday In Spring Hill died Sunday, May 2, 2004 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC.
Mrs. Trunko retired from Longwood College.
She is survived by her husband, Edward A. Trunko, Sr. of Meherrin; two daughters, Deborah Scott of Monroe Top, NJ and Pamela Trunko of Charlotte, NC; three sons, Joseph Trunko of Riverside, CA, Edward A. Trunko, Jr. of Meherrin and John Trunko of Riverside, CA and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 8 at 9:30 a.m. at Kurzawa Funeral Home, South Amboy, NJ. A local memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Dies Sunday
MAY 4 - Kenneth Joseph Barton, 58, of Farmville, born September 7, 1945 in New York, a son of William and Ethel Schroeder Barton.
Mr. Barton was a teacher at Piedmont Regional Juvenile Detention Center and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Jo - Ann Potts Barton; two daughters, Kyle B. Vatalaro of Queens, NY and Amanda Barton of Long Island, NY; a son, Christopher Barton of Farmville and a brother, William Barton of New York.
The family will receive friends this evening (Tuesday) from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Doyne - Burger - Davis Funeral Home, Farmville, followed by a Wake service at 7:30 p.m. died Tuesday, April 27, 2004. She was the widow of Stokley Talbott.
She is survived by her daughters, Sue Taylor Shifflett and husband. Ray of Chester, Ruby Taylor Call and husband, David of Dillwyn and Wanda Michelle (Missy) Talbott of Dillwyn; five grandchildren, Rebecca Ashby and Ferrin Christine Shifflett of Chester, Christopher Wayne, Stephen Lee and Julie Suzanne Call all of Dillwyn; three sisters, Doris Bulheller of Richmond, Shirley Godsey of Dillwyn and Jerrie Shumaker of Maryland: brothers, Bobby Agee, Jeff Agee and Charles Agee all of Richmond and lots more nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in interment in the Family died Wednesday, April 28,2004.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Toney Sharpe; two sons, Wayne Sharpe and his wife, Brenda of Powhatan and Michael Sharpe and his wife, Linda of Arvonia; two sisters, Marie Barker of New Canton and Gladys Wharam of Arvonia; a brother, William Howard Sharpe, Jr., of Georgia and a granddaughter, Ashley Sharpe.

She was death by her brothers, William C. Gaines and John C. Gaines, Jr. and sisters, Susie Holloway, Elizabeth Pollok and Florence R. Gaines.

She was a native of Charlotte County, death by a grandson, William Howard Ervin, III.

APRIL 27 - Robert E. Abington, 72, of Farmville, born April 15, 1932 In Missouri, a son of the late Oliver Butler and Manilla Middieton Abington.
Mr. Abington served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War veteran. He was a retired machinist from Phillip Morris, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Abington; two daughters, Donna Hensley and her husband, Jerry and Geneva John - son and her husband, Jimmie; grandsons, Lee Hensley and Keith Johnson; brother, Ramon Abington; sister, Marion Abington and a host of other relatives and many caring and loving friends.
