RICE, March 23 - Amanda Walton, of Rice, born in Prince Edward County on August 17, 1915, a daughter of the late Wathall and Inez Thompson.
She is survived by seven daughters, Mamie Dove, Alice Anderson, Mary Brooks, Marie Jackson, Inez Tucker, Martha Dye and Vera Walton; four sons, Waverly, Clarence, Melvin and Hodges Walton; one son - in - law, John Dye; one daughter - in - law, Beverly Walton; five sisters, lantha Whitaker, Louise Burn - side, Constance Brown, Leanna Norton and Phyllis Calhoun; four brothers, Moses, Samuel, Matthew and Fred Thompson; one brother - in - law; two sisters - in - law; 26 grandchildren; 53 great - grandchildren; 55 great - great - grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at High Bridge Baptist Church, Rice, with cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to High Bridge Baptist Church.

Mrs. Jones was retired from the former Miller & Rhodes Department Store, and a life member of the Seventh Street Christian Church in Richmond. She attended Sunday School at the Chester Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sister, Etta G. Rickman; two brothers, James W. Ayers, Sr. and Warren N. Ayers all of Cumberland; nieces, Mary Fields and Virginia Robinson both of Cumberland and Anne A. Boyer of Richmond; nephews, James W. Ayers, Jr. of Montpelier and Claude Douglas Graves of Cumberland; eight great - nieces; seven great - nephews and eight great - great - nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 10 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home with Pastor Clyde Dalton officiating. died February 24, 2004, after a long illness.

BUENA VISTA, March 16 - William Lee "Billy" Tibbs, 23, of Buena Vista, born May 6, 1980 In Mullens, West Virginia, a son of Gary Lee and Connie Brown Tibbs of Buckingham County.
Mr. Tibbs graduated from Buckingham County High School in 1998. He was a member of Goshen Baptist Church, Buckingham County, and attended the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was employed by Dana Corporation.
In addition to his parents, he Is survived by his wife, Kimberly Cannady Tibbs and his children, Jenisha, Tyreke and Jakia; sisters, Patricia Arline Dale and Ginger Rae Tibbs both of Buckingham County; grandparents, Lester and Arline Brown and the Rev. George and Charlotte Woods all of Buckingham County and great - grandmother, Lonie Brown of Roanoke.
