MARCH 9 - Grace Goin Taylor, 88, of Farmville, born January 23, 1916, a daughter of the late James Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Davis Brown.
She is survived by her husband, Lacy Taylor; her children, Gene Goin of Susan. Evelyn G. McCormick of Forest and Inez G. Bowls of Salem; her brother, Beauty Brown of Norfolk; nine grandchildren; 11 great - grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A interment in the church died Thursday, March 4, 2004 at the home of her daughter. Ruby Fumes.
A daughter of the late James Lewis and Bell Loveday Lewis, she was death by her first husband, Clifford Leatherwood; second husband, John Johnson; grandson, Donald Goforth; great - grandson, Harry Carnahan, Jr.; brothers, Floyd, Leonard and Boyd and sisters, Frankie Parton and Leona Dunn.
A funeral service was held this morning (Tuesday) at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville, with died Sunday, March 7, 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Christian Garrett; a son, William Garrett and wife, Ada; a daughter, Linda G. Crews and husband, Johnny all of Dillwyn; three sisters, Melissa Peters of Farmville, Frances Taylor of Maryland and Grace Mottley of Richmond; two brothers. Earnest Garrett of Dillwyn and Roy Garrett of Farmville; four grandchildren, TSGT John (Robbie) Crews, Jr. and wife, Frieda of Langley A.F.B., Vanessa G. Sharpe and husband, Blake, Edie Crews Eubank, Christy G. Wharam and husband, Justin all of Dillwyn; eight great grandchildren, Chasity Darnell, Brandie Crews, Ryan Sharpe, Ashley Crews, Dylan Eubank, Brookelyn Wharam, Sierra Wharam and John R. Crews, HI.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Baptist Church with cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening (Tuesday) from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn.

MARCH 4 - Edna C. Calderwood, of Esmont and Farmville, born December 10, 1911 in South Carolina. She was the widow of Benjamin Frank Calderwood.
She is survived by two children, Gall C. Thompson and her husband. Major and John D. Calderwood and his wife, Dianne; six grandchildren and 16 great - grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Piedmont Church of Christ, Farmville.

WORSHAM. March 4 - Jessie Wood Southall, 91, of Worsham, born July 11, 1912 in Prince Edward County, a daughter of the late Jesse and Frances Garland Wood.
She is survived by a daughter, Peggy S. Dinelli; a nephew, Hugh Cabell Garland; a daughter - in - law, Mary Virginia Southall; grandchildren, Jo Anne Nolte, Carol Lynn Lewis, Keith Lewis, Michael Dinelli, Hope Wallin, Mark Southall, Donna Neese and Janet Southall; 11 great grandchildren and four great - great - grandchildren. She was preceded in died Wednesday, March 3, 2004.
