HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ, March 4 - Charles L. Kidd, 82, Born in Appomattox County on July 15, 1921, he had resided in the area for more than 60 years. He was a retired employee of the State of New Jersey.
Mr. Kidd was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in Okinawa. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was the son of the late William Jurdon and Annie Ballowe Kidd and brother of the late William E. Kidd and Edith Kidd Truslow.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Matera Kidd; six sisters, Virginia Kidd Hicks, Annie Mae Kidd Jones, Emma Sue Kidd Boutchyard, Louise Kitty Cox and Ruth Kidd Gamer all of Fredericksburg and Mary Kidd Senger of Farmville and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 25 at the Mullen Funeral Home, Trenton, NJ. Burial was in Our Lady of Lourdes died Tuesday, March 2, 2004 in Farmville. She was the widow of W. Clyde Pitts.
She is survived by her daughter, Glenda P. Stimpson of Farmville; her son, Larry C. Pitts of Greenville, SC; her four grandchildren, Jeff Stimpson, Wade Stimpson, Jr., Brian Pitts and Sean Pitts and her great - grandchildren, Reeve Stimpson, Halley Stimpson, Jessee Stimpson, Riley Stimpson, Lauren Stimpson, Trey Stimpson, III, Bailey Pitts and Ellis Pitts.
Graveside services were held 1 p.m. today (Thursday) in The Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, SC.

Dies Tuesday
PAMPLIN, March 4 - Rachel Inge Ranson, 87, of Pamplin, Born in Appomattox County on March 14, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Mary Hamilton Inge and Holmesy Inge, Sr. She was the widow of Harry Wilson Ranson.
Mrs. Ranson was a faithful and dedicated member of Rocks Baptist Church and her community. She retired from Amelia Dress Company.
She is survived by three sons, Harry E. Ranson and wife, Joan, Frank Roy Ranson and Mike Ranson and wife, Betty; three daughters, Louise Roach and husband, Aulden, Mary Edith Morris and husband, Glenn and Ruth Caldwell and husband, Bill all of Pamplin; ten grandchildren, Cindy Shorter, Debbie Lakes, Ken Caldwell, Susan Smith, Patty Rimbey, Billy Caldwell, Amy Martin, Jennifer Walton, Otis Ranson and Amanda Ranson; 17 great grandchildren, Angela, Beverly, William, Kathryn and Rebekah Shorter, Jeremy and Rachel Lakes, Earl and Grayson Rimbey, Josey and Ethan Walton, Jordan Martin, Hannah, Harry, Colleen, Kendall and Leah Caldwell and three caregivers, Esther Braxton, Nancy Woody and Zandra Elder. One brother and sister - in - law, Alice and Holmesy Inge, Jr. preceded her in cemetery.

RICE, March 2 - Beatrice Newman Stoner, 87, of Rice, born September 20, 1916 in Danville, a daughter of the late Annie and Nathan Newman. She was raised by her mother's sister. Aunt Mamie, who became her stepmother. Her mother funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Temple Beth Shalom with Cemetery.

FEBRUARY 24 - Anna P. Dickhoff, 93, of Farmville, born April 23, 1910 In Prince Edward County, a daughter of the late Carl William and Pauline Semrock Dickhoff.
She was the secretary for the treasurer of Hampden - Sydney College for over 40 years. She served as president of the Woman's Club, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church and served on many other organizations. She collected donations for many charities including the American Cancer Society and the United Way Fund.
She is survived by her sisters, Ella Nolde of Richmond and Helen Rose Dickhoff of Farmville; one brother, John Henry Dickhoff and his wife, Bertha of Farmville and several nieces and nephews.
A Interment In Westview Cemetery.
