CUMBERLAND, Dec. 23 - Andrew Hall Trent, Sr., 70, of Cumberland, born April 18, 1933 In Buckingham County, a son of the late Robert Lee Trent and Katie Huddleston Trent.
He is survived by a longtime companion, Mollie Fields; children, Andrew Hall Trent, Jr. and his wife, Debbie and Robert Alien Trent all of Cumberland, Rebecca Shumaker and her husband, Raymond of Dillwyn, Eddie Fields and his wife, Linda of Powhatan, Timothy Fields of Powhatan, Teri Dizon of Richmond, Danny Dandridge and his wife. Lisa of Amelia and Richard English of Cumberland; a sister, Ola Huddleston of Cumberland; grandchildren, Melissa Trent, Jennifer Trent, Tiffany Trent, Robert Alien Trent, Jr., Brandon and Kaitlin Shumaker. Savannah Dizon, Kenley and Kiley Fields, Hadley and Harris Cole.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday at Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, with Cemetery.
'Dick' Wimmer, 78
DECEMBER 23 - Richard W. "Dick" Wimmer, 78, of Farmville, born September 18, 1925 in Nason, Illinois, a son of the late Albert and Agnes Penn Wimmer.
Mr. Wimmer was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and served his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked at Alien Industries for 25 years, then he worked for Nottoway Correctional Facility for five years. He drove the Farmville Area Bus when it first started.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ida Mae Wimmer; his children. Warren R. Wimmer and his wife, Laura of Orland Park, Illinois, Jeffrey G. Wimmer of Biloxi, Mississippi, Kathy L. Smith and her husband, Stan of Farmville and Karen L. Camilo of Farmville; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren and his brother, Russell B. Wimmer of Falls Church. He was preceded In died Monday, December 15, 2003.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin M. Thomas; a daughter, Sara Jean Thomas of Spring Lake, NC; her parents, Ralph R. and Shelby J. Ragland of Farmville; a brother, Billy R. Ragland of Richmond and a sister, Cathy Jean Pickett of Fayetteville, NC.
Funeral services were held Friday at Central Baptist Church, Spring Lake, NC. Burial was held Saturday in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice.

Mae Page Wells, 96
DECEMBER 23 - Mae Page Wells, 96, born September 22, 1907 in Appomattox, a daughter of the late Thomas Lee Page and Sally Doss Page. She was the widow of Robert 0. Wells.
Mrs. Wells was a resident of Farmville for 75 years and a member of Farmville Baptist Church. She was a retired foreman for Craddock - Terry Shoe Corporation.
She is survived by two sons, Barry L. Wells and his wife, Elma of Danville and Robert L. Wells and his wife, Suzanne of Madison Heights; five grandchildren; 11 great - grandchildren; a brother, Albert H. Page, Sr. of Farmville and a sister, Virginia Estes of Rice.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of Doyne - Burger - Davis Funeral Home, Farmville, with Cemetery.
Remembrances may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association.
'Mark' Law, 20
DECEMBER 18 - James Marshall "Mark" Law, 20, of Farmville, born March 29, 1983 in Prince Edward County. Everybody loved Mark and Mark loved everybody.
He is survived by his mother, Jennifer Wood of Farmville; his father and stepmother, James and Kathy Law of Disputanta; stepfather, Thomas Hayes of Keysville: sister, Kristen Law of Columbus, GA; stepbrother, Douglas Hayes of Farmville; maternal grandmother, Willa Wood of Farmville; paternal grandmother, Bernice Law of Martinsville and many special family members and friends.
A interment in Westview died Tuesday, December 16, 2003.
She was funeral service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4103 Monument Ave., Richmond. Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening (Thursday) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville.

Beverly Calvin Bass, 93,
born July 24, 1910, and born in Rice, Prince Edward County, VA.
Educated in Prince Edward county schools, he traveled to Maryville, Tennessee in 1928 to attend Maryville College, then earned a Masters Degree in Science from the University of Tennessee. He remained there to teach, coach, and become the assistant principal of Alcoa High School. He death by his wife of 71 years, Beatrice Dreher Bass; parents, May Morton Bass and Beverly Gates Bass; sisters, Anna May B. Garnett, Nina B. Hitt and Marjorie B. Chambers.
He is survived by daughters, Elinor Hopklns and husband, Jim of Lynchburg; Virginia Eaddy and husband, John of Knoxville, TN; Martha Bishop and husband. Skip of Floyd;
Beverly Hines and husband, John of Rice; 12 grandchildren;
15 great - grandchildren; brother, Robert G. Bass and wife, Judy of Richmond and sister, Dorothy B. Alexandra of High Point, NC.
died Monday, December 15, 2003 in Farmville.
He was death by his wife of 56 years, Marie K. Atkins.

George G. Cunningham, 74

WINGINA, Dec. 16 - George Ford Cunningham, Sr., 74, of Buckingham County, Born August 13, 1929 at Norwood (Nelson County), he was a son of the late Frank Cunningham and Carrie Ragland Cunningham.
Mr. Cunningham was a retired foreman with C & 0 Railroad with over 37 years of service.
He is survived by his son, George F. Cunningham, Jr., of Shipman; his daughter, Georgia Ann Taylor of Wingina; his brother, Frank Cunningham, Jr.; his two sisters, Carrie E. Carter of Arrington and Hallie Carter of Gladstone; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Interment will follow in the Scottsville died Friday, December 5, 2003 in The Pavilion Nursing Center in Croasdaile Village.
Mr. Bynum was a native of Farmville. He graduated from Hampden - Sydney College and moved to Durham as a bookkeeper for Baldwin Department Store.
He is survived by his wife, Martha McLennan Bynum; two children, Archibald McDowell Bynum, Jr. and Martha Bynum Brame both of Durham, NC; three grandchildren, Martha Murdaugh Brame, Robert Marshall Brame, Jr. and Alice Bynum Brame and one sister, Mary Bynum Booker of Farmville.
A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
