Harper Pridgen
Harper Pridgen, 80, of Richmond, formerly of Blackstone, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, October 24, 2004. He was death by his granddaughter, Lydia Grace Elder.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Minnie D. Pridgen; two daughters, Brenda P. Boggs and her husband, Jimmy, and Sudie P. Elder and her husband, Rudy; and one son, James L. Pridgen and his wife, Carol. He dearly loved his grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Papa". They include James Loften Pridgen Jr. and his wife, Shelley, Todd Harper Pridgen and his wife, Jennifer, Rebecca P. Reitz and her husband. Mark, Christopher Pridgen, Ann Marie and Frankie Robinson, Corey Boggs and his wife. Amber, Jeremy Boggs, Ryan Boggs, Rudy Elder III, Quincy Harper Elder, Isaac Reed Elder, Little Emma Joy Elder and one more due in March. He was blessed with three precious great - grandchildren, Kelsey Ann Reitz, Mark G. Reitz III, Isabella Pridgen and one more due in May. He is also survived by his sister, Sudie P. Hawks of Colonial Heights; and two brothers, George Ray Pridgen and his wife, Doris of Blackstone, and Isaac Ernest "Ike" Pridgen of Crewe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a proud Army veteran of World War II, who participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He retired in 1997 after 35 years of faithful service from Shoosmith Brothers, Inc.
His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Homes' Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends .Monday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and where services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday. died October 25, 2004. Mrs. Robertson was death by her husband, Wilson J. Robertson and two sons, Russell E. and Thomas J. Robertson, both of Charlottesville. She is survived by two sons, John A. Robertson, of Green County and Frank G. Robertson, of Charlottesville; a daughter, Lucille Lang of Winston - Salem, N.C.; a sister, Ora Glover, of Appomattox; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Buckingham Community died on Sunday, October 24, 2004 at his home.
He was married the former Nancy Ethel Morris, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Thomas Gerald Farrar of Harrisonburg and Stephen Morris Farrar of Waco, Texas. He was preceded in funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at West Side Baptist Church by the Revs. Paul White, Charles Anderson and George Fletcher.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Spring Creek Baptist Church died Monday, October 25, 2004 in Farmville.
He was the son of the late Bernard and Bertha Jenkins.
He is survived by two sisters, Yvanne Webb and her husband, Boyd of Colonial Heights and Shirley Blankenship of Chester; three nephews, Boyd Alton Webb, Jr. of Petersburg, Scott Webb of Richmond and Bruce Jenkins Webb of Chesterfield and a niece, Tracy Lynn McKnown.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Trinity Memorial Gardens.

Dies Thursday
BUCKINGHAM, Oct. 26 - Odelle Llewellyn Steger, 92, of Buckingham, born April 3, 1912 in Buckingham County, the daughter of the late William Addison Llewellyn and Nannie Crews Llewellyn. She was the widow of Andrew J. Steger.
Mrs. Steger was a lifelong member of Mulberry Grove Baptist Church where she served as clerk for many years.
She is survived by a son, A. J. Steger, Jr. and his wife, Marlene of Great Falls; a daughter, Gloria Steger Wood and her husband, Roland of Buckingham: two sisters, Virginia Llewellyn Pritchett of Bracey and Celia Llewellyn Epperson of Buckingham; four grandchildren, Kristy S. Rumbaugh and her husband. Matt of Fairfax, Craig A. Steger and his wife, Lori of Herndon, Courtney W. Whitt and her husband, Billy of Manassas and R. Carter Wood, III of Arlington and three great - grandchildren. She was preceded in interment in Buckingham Community interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens.

BUCKINGHAM, Oct. 26 - Ray Wallace Lann, 61, of Buckingham, born March 24, 1943, a son of the late Nick M. Lann, Sr. and Ruby W. Lann.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Lann; his children and their spouses, Ray Wallace Lann, Jr. and Chrissy, Mary Jane Elder and Randy, Steve Miller Lann and Lisa, Rodney Wayne Lann and Crystal Renae Lann; four stepchildren, Leslie Wade Fitzgerald, Susan Day Rodgers, Jenny and Lisa Stinson; six grandchildren, Jennifer Lann, Brandon Elder, Ashley Elder. R. J. Lann, Anita Lann and Kali Ann Lann; a brother, Herbert Lann of Dillwyn and two sisters. Ruby L. Bryant of Altavista and Elizabeth Plunkett of Indiana. He was preceded in interment in Buckingham Community died Thursday, October 21, 2004.
She was death by a brother, William G. Llewellyn.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mulberry Grove Baptist Church with Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn.

Died Sunday, October 17, 2004. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday in Virginia Veterans passed away at his home Wednesday, October 20, 2004.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Shirley Astroth Hackett; three children, Marcella Johnson and her husband, Eddie, Angela Davis and her husband, David and Otis Lee Hackett, Jr. all of Scottsvllle; two sisters, Lillian Ragland of Scottsvllle and Katherine Pace of Richmond; four grandchildren Kristen and Brandon Johnson, Nikki Hackett and Dylan Davis and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a member of the Glenmore Volunteer Fire Department, the Lean N Pine Hunt Club and had retired from Uniroyal - Goodrich, Scottsvllle, with 32 - 1/2 years of service.
Mr. Hackett was also a member of Glenmore United Methodist Church where a Interment will follow in the church died Sunday, October 17, 2004, surrounded and comforted by the love of his immediate and extended family. He was known from early childhood as "Baldy", a nickname given him by his older brothers because of his white - blonde hair.
Law enforcement was his life and he served 42 years with the Farmville Police Department, retiring In 1999 as a Sergeant.
