BURLINGTON, N.C. - Bernice Mae Fuller Davidson, of 205 East 6th St., died Monday, July 8, 2002, at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington.
Born June 22, 1926, in Caswell County, she was the daughter of Randolph Fuller and Lillie Pearl Willis Fuller.
She was married to Edgar Davidson Sr., who predeceased her. She was a member of Graves Chapel Baptist Church where she was a member of the usher board. She was also a member of the Pride of Locust Hill Order of Easter Star #624. She was an employee of Caswell County School System in the food service department prior to her retirement.
Survivors include two sons, Edgar Davidson Jr. and Henry Davidson, both of Yanceyville; three daughters, Annie M. Hubbard of Blairs, Odessa D. Gwynn of Yanceyville, and D. Abigail D. Lewis of Omaha, Neb.; six brothers, Hubert Fuller, Willie L. Graves, and Henry C. Graves, all of Yanceyville, Hilton Graves of Raleigh, Lenard S. Graves of Greensboro, and Flex Graves of Maryland; one sister, Edna Richmond of Burlington; two stepsisters, Bernice Mebane and Chattye Brown, both of Burlington; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased, in addition to her husband and parents, by one brother, Herbert Fuller.
The funeral will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Graves Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Walker officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Fulton Funeral Home Chapel and other times will be at the residence of Edgar Davidson, 5261 Badgett Sister Parkway, Yanceyville.

Mary Waller
CHATHAM, Va. - Elder Mary Waller, 78, of 781 Callands Road, died Sunday night, July 7, 2002, at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 24, 1924, in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of Essie Bell Thompson.
She was married to Eugene Waller, who predeceased her. She was a homemaker and member of Higher Heights Cathedral of Deliverance in Lynchburg.
Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Waller of the residence, Debra Beard of Danville, and Belle Tucker of Chatham; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home chapel with Bishop Motley G. Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Thompson Family cemetery in Chatham.
The viewing will be held 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and other times the family will be at the residence.

Pauline Willis
YANCEYVILLE, N.C. - Pauline Bushnell Willis, of 4476 U.S. Highway 158 West, died Saturday, July 6, 2002, at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington.
Born Oct. 19, 1919, in Caswell County, she was the daughter of William B. Bushnell and Lena Redd Bushnell.
She was married to Percy W. Willis Jr., who predeceased her. She was a member of Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the usher board.
Survivors include one daughter, Sadie W. Wheeler of Yanceyville; one son, Vernell Willis of the residence; one brother, William Percy Bushnell of Greensboro; one sister, Bernice Gwynn of Greensboro; one grandson.
She was predeceased, in addition to her parents and husband, by two sons, Raylee Willis and Bernard Willis; two brothers, Travis Bushnell and Norman Bushnell; and four sisters, Florence Kelly, Newland Graves, Mary Javis and Sweet Olivia Bushnell.
The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Blackwell Baptist Church with the Rev. Everett Dickerson officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Rev. Donald Edward Arthur
FORT WORTH, Texas - The Rev. Donald Edward Arthur, 41, of 521 West Road Two Six Flags, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at the Medical Center of Plano.
Born Dec. 12, 1960, in Leonardtown, Md., he was the son of Anderson Arthur and Pauline Tharpe Arthur.
He worked in construction.
In addition to his parents of South Boston, Va., he is survived by a wife, Melinda Cox Arthur of Fort Worth; and two sisters, Vicky Arthur Lowery of South Boston, Va. and Sharon Arthur of Suffield, Conn.
He was predeceased by one sister, Renee Arthur Franklin.
The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Fritz officiating. Interment will be in Halifax Memorial Gardens.

Carrie Compton Brown
CENTREVILLE, Va. - Carrie Compton Brown, 86, of 14600 Jenn Court, died Tuesday, October 1, 2002, at Inova Fair Oakes Hospital in Fairfax, Va.
Born October 12, 1915, in Gretna, she was the daughter of George Compton and Annie Brumfield Compton.
Mrs. Brown lived most of her life in Danville where she was employed as bookkeeper for Stinson Tire Company. She had resided with her daughter since 1992, Centreville, Va. She was a charter member of Forest Lawn Baptist Church where she was a choir member and served on various committees.
She was married to John D. Brown Jr. who predeceased her October 7, 1991.
She is survived by a daughter, Lynda B. Dallas of Centreville, Va.; a sister, Lois Pendergrass of Lynchburg, Va., two grandchildren, Charles E. Dallas Jr. of Miami, Fla. and Sheri Ayoub of Leesburg, Va.; and one great-grandchild, Brianna Ayoub of Leesburg, Va.
The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Swicegood Chapel with The Rev. John Etcher officiating. Interment will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.

William Robert Moss Jr.
DANVILLE, Va. - William Robert Moss Jr., 57, of 435 Conifer Drive, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002, at his residence.
Born Nov. 23, 1944, in Danville, he was the son of William Robert Moss Sr., who predeceased him and Margaret Sue Midkiff Moss, who survives.
He lived most of his life in Danville and had lived in Martinsville prior to returning to Danville. He was a graduate of George Washington High School and Averett University. He was owner and operator of Dairy Queen in Martinsville and was the General Manager of Dairy Queen in Danville. He was a Free Mason and was a member of Rivermont Baptist Church.
He married Susan Carter Moss on Oct. 14, 1989.
In addition to his mother of Danville and his wife of the residence, he is survived by a son, Robert S. "Rob" Moss of Climax; a daughter, Kristy Moss Sutton of Mechanicsville; and a sister, Susan Moss Stevens of Danville.
The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with the Rev. A. Kyle Flora officiating.

Willie Catherine Robertson
MILTON, N.C. - Willie Catherine Robertson, 47, of 1571 Hwy. 57 North, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002 at Duke University Medical Center.
Born Aug. 11, 1955, in Caswell County, she was the daughter of Madison Wade, who predeceased her and Margaret Lovelace Wade, who survives.
She attended the public schools of Caswell County and was a graduate of Danville Community College. She was employed as an LPN for Danville Regional Medical Center.
In addition to her mother of the residence, she is survived by her husband, Jerry Wayne Robertson; a son, Jerry Lamont Robertson; a daughter, Tonya Marie Robertson, both of Milton; three sisters, Shirley Annette Wade of Danville, Va., Marilyn Wade of Milton and Brenda Wade of Durham; four brothers, Barry L. Wade, Robert Edward Lovelace, both of Milton, Madison Earl Wade and Marvin Wade, both of Danville, Va.; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be held 1 p.m. Friday at New Haven Baptist Church with the Rev. Troy Beasley officiating. Interment will be at Floral Hill Memory Gardens in Danville, Va.
A viewing was held 1-8 p.m. Thursday at Plenty Funeral Home Chapel.

Louizetta Hall Scales
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Louizetta Hall Scales, 90, formerly of 801 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, No. 5A, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, at the Winston-Salem Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
She was born Feb. 5, 1912 in Danville, Va. and later moved to Winston-Salem.
She is survived by a son, James Edward Hall; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral was held Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. L.S. Werts officiated.
Lena Jordan Wallace
DANVILLE, Va. - Lena Jordan Wallace, 84, of 156 Forestdale Drive, Apt. 312, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002, at Danville Regional Medical Center after six months of declining health and a week in the hospital.
Born April 14, 1918, in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of Glenn C. Jordan and Mamie Gilliland Jordan.
She lived her life in the Danville area where prior to her retirement, she was employed at Cranes Cleaners and was a member of the Hill Toppers. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was married to Clarence Hill, who predeceased her in 1950. She later married Linwood Lawrence Wallace, who also predeceased her on May 25, 1992.
She is survived by a daughter, Frances L. Engen of Roxboro, N.C.; a sister, Nancy Loftis of Danville; two step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by two brothers, Irvin and James Jordan.
The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel with Duane Allmond officiating. Interment will be in Highland Burial Park.

RICHMOND, Va. - Michael Farmer, infant, of 9513 Lockberry Ridge Loop, died at birth July 22, 2002, at Johnston Willis Hospital.
He was the son of Anthony Lee Farmer and Laura Allgood Farmer.
Survivors include his parents; maternal grandparents, Sid and Betty Allgood of Danville; paternal grandparents, Walter and Kathy Farmer of Lynchburg; maternal great grandparents, Tom and Elizabeth Allgood of Danville, and one paternal great-grandmother, Mary C. Holder of Danville.
A private graveside service will be held Friday at Highland Burial Park with Rev. A.C. Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends at the maternal grandparents' residence, 1271 Raven Hollow Road, Ringgold.

BLAIRS, Va. - Hedley W. Glass, 84, of 773 Pritchett Lane, died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born August 16, 1917, in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of Charlie and Millie Anderson Glass.
He was married to Virginia D. Glass.
Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Geraldine Williams of Blairs, Clara Richardson and Reba Griffin, both of Danville, Ola Gunn of Richmond, Elayne Glass of Raleigh, N.C., and Linda Price of Accokeek, Md.; and two sons, Woody Glass and Michael Glass, both of Raleigh, N.C.
He was predeceased by his parents.
The funeral will be held at noon Friday at Laurel Grove Baptist Church with Dr. James Cabell officiating. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

William Beverly Hughes
HALIFAX, Va. - William Beverly Hughes, 69, of 2147 Love Shop Road, died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at Halifax Regional Hospital.
Born January 21, 1933, in Halifax County, he was the son of Woodson Hughes and Ruth Nichols Hughes.
He was married to Eleanor Ford Hughes. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was also a retired cattleman and member of the Halifax County Saddle Club.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Woodson Hughes; one daughter, Sara Hughes Ware of South Boston; four sisters, Eva Hagood, Lucille Brandon and Kathryne Foster, all of South Boston, and Virginia Palmer of Onalaska, Tx. He was predeceased in addition to his parents, by two sisters, Rebecca Hughes and Frances Ramsey.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2002, at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Russell Lee and Elder Doug Stacey officiating.

MILTON, N.C. - Jim Henry Jeffers, 73, of 2234 Yarborough Mill Road, died Monday, July 22, 2002, in Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born November 13, 1928, in Caswell County, he was the son of Issac Jeffers Sr. and Victoria Brandon Jeffers.
He was married to Inez Smith Jeffers. He was a member of River Zion Baptist Church. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a custodian with the Caswell County Public School System.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Anthony Jeffers of Raleigh and Olanda Jeffers of Roxboro; three daughters, Acquilla Nicholson of Raleigh, Linda Harrison of Jamestowne, and Victoria Jeffers; two brothers, Elisha Jeffers of Joplin, Mo., and Enoch Jeffers of Newwark, N.J.; one sister, Mary J. Graves of Blanch; seven stepchildren; and six grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at River Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Cephus Lea officiating. Interment will follow in River Zion Baptist Church cemetery.
