Margaret Alene Mann, age 71, of Amelia, died on Saturday November 3, 2001.
She is survived by her husband, James T. Mann, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A chapel service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 5, at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St, with interment to follow at Sandy Creek Baptist Church.

Carl J. Taylor, age 94, of North Tazewell, Va., passed away Saturday, November 3, 2001 in Tazewell, Va.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Evaline A. Taylor; four sons, Joseph Taylor of Richmond, Va., Eddie Taylor of Powhatan, Va., Carl Taylor of Midlothian, Va., and Barry Taylor of Tazewell, Va.; four daughters, Mary Ritger of Richmond, Va., Ruby Gittman of Ashland, Va., Annette Friedhoff of Mechanicsville, Va., and Sue Clary of Hartfield, Va.; one brother, Sherman Taylor of Dry Fork, Va.; 18 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2001 at Peery and St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, Va. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2001.
Maree C. Muzzy
Maree C. Muzzy, 79, of Richmond, passed away November 4, 2001.
She was the widow of Donald W. Muzzy. She is survived by two sisters, Annie C. Wally of Amelia and Laura E. Crostic of Richmond; also nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Signal Hill Memorial Park. Arrangements with Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel.
Timothy K. Conley
Timothy K. Conley, age 38, of Amelia, passed away Monday, November 5, 2001.
He is survived by his parents, Bobby and Dixie Conley of Richmond; a sister, Cindy Spera and her husband, Ken of Detroit, Mich.; a nephew, Matthew Spera. Mr. Conley was employed by Signtek of Richmond.
Family will receive friends at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10), 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, November 8. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment Dale Memorial Park.
Martha Tilman Boelt
Martha Tilman Boelt died November 8, 2001 after a long illness.
She was married to the late Clemens E. Boelt Sr. and she was registrar at the Valentine Museum in Richmond for 14 years before her retirement in 1975. Family and friends are invited to visit the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, November 9.
A graveside service will be held at Powhatan Community Center, Powhatan, Va., Saturday, November 10 at 11 a.m. She is survived by her daughter, Diana Boelt Challis; her son, Clemens E. Boelt Jr., two grandchildren, Lauren Clemens Challis and Riiste Shannon Challis; a great-grandson, Harmon Kent Challis; two sisters, Courtney Tilman Chandler and Jane Tilman Brown; a brother, Samuel Cole Tilman; and an aunt, Marion Reynolds Lawton. George Ben Lush
George Ben Lush, an Amelia County dairyman, died November 9, 2001 at age 93.
Raised in Chesterfield, Va., he later bought a dairy farm in Amelia where he was active in community affairs. He helped to bring the telephone to the county, build the War Memorial Building and served as president of Ruritans and Young Farmers. He was active in Mount Herman Baptist Church in Chesterfield and later in Piedmont Baptist Church in Amelia where he was a deacon for over 50 years until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Brooks Lush; daughters, Gail Powell of New Zealand and Bonnie Yospin of Amelia; son, Sandy R. Lush of Amelia; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Piedmont Baptist Church, 17801 Genito Road, Amelia, on Sunday, November 11 at 4 p.m., followed by fellowship. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Piedmont Baptist Church Building Fund or the James L. Hamner Library.
Jacqueline Faye McMinn
Jacqueline Faye McMinn (1943-2001) our loving wife, daughter, mother and sister has gone home to be with our Lord. Jackie Moody McMinn has gone to her heavenly home after a long battle with cancer.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Wayne McMinn; and treasured parents, Garland and Mary Moody; daughter, Jo Carroll Fields and her husband, Dale; son, Brian Dean and his wife, Sharon; son, Richard McMinn and his wife, Lynn; grandchildren, Lauren, Bobbie Sue, Shelly and Billy; along with four great-grandchildren and others on the way. Jackie loved her two sisters, Brenda Moody Hart and Rhonda Moody Long; as well as her three brothers, Garland Moody Jr. (Cooky), Gary Steve Moody Sr. and Robert Michael Moody; her grandmother, Lelia Westmoreland. Along with her loving family, she leaves cherished friends, Terry Fields, Tom and Faye Ricola, as well as all of those she worshiped with at Red Lane Church in Powhatan and Pine Grove Church in Dinwiddie.
A visitation will be held at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Chester, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Pine Grove Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 14, at 2 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Southlawn Memorial Park. Dennis Odell Dalton
Dennis Odell Dalton, age 49, of Amelia, Va., died Saturday, November 10, 2001.
He is survived by his parents, Odell and Mary Dalton; three sons, Jason Christopher, Chad Odell, D.J. Dalton; and three grandchildren; two sisters, Kristi Dalton Taylor of Richmond and Candace Dalton of Atlanta, Ga. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jacquelin R. Dalton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, in the Arbor Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hamner-McMillian Funeral Home, Blackstone, Va.

A. Richard "Dick" Savage Sr., 75, of Powhatan, went to be with our Lord Saturday, November 10, 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth T. Savage; daughter, Deborah S. Williamson and her husband, Steve; son, Alvin Richard Savage Jr. of Detroit, Mich.; sister, Jean S. Chitwood of Gainesville, Ga.; brothers, Cecil Savage of Geneva, Ala., and Phillip Savage of Gainesville, Ga.; and a granddaughter, Sierra Savage. Mr. Savage was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving our country during WWII. He was vice president of the former Barker Construction Co.
His family will receive friends Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Road (Rt. 10). Funeral service for Mr. Savage will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Branch's Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. John Moncure Waller Jr.
John Moncure Waller Jr., 77, formerly of 3321 Grove Ave., died November 13, 2001 in Jetersville after declining in health for two years.
He was the only child of the late John M. Waller and Marie Koiner Waller. Jack was one of the boys who grew up on West Avenue in the 1930's. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School, Virginia Tech, and the University of Virginia and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was employed by Lithoplate, Inc., Jones Motor Car Co., and Sears Roebuck. He was a member of The Country Club of Virginia, Sons of the Revolution, and St. James's Episcopal Church.
Survivors are cousins, William K. Goolrick of New York City, William A. Waller of Nantucket and Edward Waller of Danville. A graveside service will be held in Hollywood Cemetery on Friday, November 16 at 2 p.m.

Edna E. Heath, age 94, of Amelia, died on Wednesday, November 14, 2001.
She was preceded in death by her husband, B.L. Heath, and her son, Wesley C. Wilkinson. She is survived by her son, Dewey Lee Wilkinson of Moseley; two daughters, Rachel Virginia Pollard of Tucker, GA, and Rose Koch of Amelia; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St., with interment to follow at Union Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Amelia Rescue Squad.

Gay Eva Rose, age 82, of Powhatan, Va., departed this life on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 in Richmond, Va.
She is survived by two sisters, Jola Roy of Hampton, Va. and Gwendolyn Booker of Powhatan, Va.; a devoted niece and nephew, Gail and William Jasper of Powhatan, Va.; seven sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews; cousins, one devoted, Belle Matthews; other relatives and friends. She is also survived by her extended family, Ellyn, Jack (Valerie), Corey (Ranko) Schwartzman and Beth (John) Beiers and children, all of California.
Her remains rest at Marian Gray Thomas Funeral Home of Cumberland. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. at Greenbrier Baptist Church, Powhatan, Va., Rev. Douglas Ross, pastor, officiating, Rev. Howard C. Cooper Sr., eulogist.
Irene Elizabeth Martin Hazelwood
Irene Elizabeth Martin Hazelwood, 98, of Richmond, originally of Lanexa, died Thursday, November 15, 2001.
She was the widow of William Hazelwood and was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Ann Hazelwood Smith. She is survived by her granddaughter, Jayne Irene Smith Holcomb and her husband, Michael W. Holcomb of Powhatan; nieces and nephew, Lynn Robinson, Nancy Drue Hoffman, Martin Green and Gwen Marks. Mrs. Hazelwood was a faithful and active member of Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church and retired from Thalhimer's and Stanley Home Products.
Remains rest at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday and where funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, November 18. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Oakwood Cemetery.

Betty Pouliot Metz, 88, of Ridgefield, Conn., wife of the late George E. Metz, died Friday in the Danbury Hospital.
Survivors include three sons, J. Raymond Metz of Ridgefield, Conn., Donald Metz of Danbury, Conn. and Henry Metz of Wells, Maine; one daughter, Lily White of Powhatan, Va.; one brother, John Pouliot of Edison, N.J.; one sister, Arlene O'Sullivan of Bethel, Conn.; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass and burial took place in Norwalk, Conn. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

Fred R. Pearce Sr. of Powhatan passed away Friday, November 16, 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Waymack Pearce; daughter, Shelby Hulslander of Mingus, Texas; son, Fred Pearce Jr. of Powhatan; brother, Bobby Lee Pearce of Richmond; sisters, Shirley Dekle of Deltona, Fla. and Sandra Bradley of Newport News; five granddaughters, and his nieces and nephews.
Mr. Pearce was the owner of Fred's Wrecker & Repair Shop and Chesterfield Upholstery. She is survived by her daughter, Bernice; sons, William and Percy; devoted granddaughters, Linda Taylor and Iris Taylor her caregiver; a brother, Robert Harris; five sisters, Minnie Clark, Ruth Witter, Alma Morris, Blanche Jones and Eunice Stout; sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and devoted friends.
