Ida O. Haase, 86, of Amelia, died on June 10, 2001.
She is survived by her sons, William Haase of Glen Allen, and Gary Haase of Powhatan; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will take place Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visiting will take place at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home from 7-8:30 p.m. on Monday.
Nannie J. Williams
Nannie J. Williams, 92, of Powhatan, widow of F. E. Williams Sr., died June 11, 2001.
She is survived by her daughter, Mildred W. Frady of Powhatan; one brother, Walter M. Jackson; one sister, Dorothy J. Rudd, both of Chesterfield; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by one son, F. E. Williams Jr.
The family will receive friends Tuesday night at the Bennett and Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Highway in Powhatan, where services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday with interment in the Old Powhatan Baptist Church Cemetery.
Margaret Edwards Smith
Margaret Edwards Smith, 76, of Colonial Heights, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001.
She is survived by her husband, Emmett H. Smith Sr.; a son, Emmett H. Jr. of Powhatan; two sisters, Pauline Culver of Richmond and Lottie Deuble of Dover, Del.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 15, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Colonial Heights. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg.
Alberta A. Booth
Alberta A. Booth, 73, of Amelia, entered eternal rest Wednesday, June 13, 2001.
She is survived by her three daughters, Marion Banks, Audrey Booth and Gwenlyn Carter; two sons, Lonnie Booth Sr. and Kenneth Booth; 12 grandchildren, one great-grandson; and three brothers.
Remains rest at Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home, Route 360, Amelia. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 17, at 2 p.m. from Chester Grove Baptist Church in Amelia, with interment in the church cemetery.
Sallie Carter Trent
Sallie Carter Trent, 78, of Cumberland, departed this life on Wednesday, June 13, 2001.
She is survived by her husband, Harvey J. Trent; three sons, Lee R., Jessie Jr., and James Trent; three daughters, Kathlene Jackson, Sallie Lewis, and Helen Brooks; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; six brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Cumberland.
Janet Miller Little
Janet Miller Little, 60, of Crewe, formerly of Amelia, died on Saturday, June 16, 2001, at her home.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie; daughter, Rhonda L. Hodge of Crewe; and granddaughter; brothers, Al Miller of Fredericksburg, Willie Miller of Mechanicsville; sisters, Nancy Byrd of Amelia, Etta Blonsick of Washington, and Margaret Weston of Florida.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting will take place at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday. Contributions may be made to the Crewe Church of the Nazarene Building Fund.
Oma Lee Hall
Oma Lee Hall, 91, of Powhatan, widow of Everett S. Hall, died Monday, June 18, 2001.
She is survived by two sons and their families.
The funeral service will take place in McLean, Texas. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Powhatan Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Eliza Cornelia Knott Allen, 87, widow of John Pitkin Allen Sr., died June 21, 2001.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Allen Wright and Nancy Allen Perrow of Richmond; her son, John Pitkin Allen Jr. of Powhatan; grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and her brother, Sidney Minor Knott Jr. of Raleigh, N.C.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 12291 River Road. James Joshua Booker, 63, departed this life suddenly at his Amelia residence.
He is survived by his wife, Mary B. Booker; daughter, Lt. Col. Dianne Booker Watkins of Woodbridge; sons, James Joshua Booker Jr. of Midlothian and Daniel Booker of Raleigh, N.C.; brothers, George Booker, William Ward, Clinton Booker, and James Lee; and sisters, Rosa Mary Booker, Shirley Booker and Irene Robinson.
Services will take place Saturday, June 23, at 2 p.m. at Promise Land Baptist Church in Amelia, with burial in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being made by V.Y. Scott Funeral Home on 360 East, Amelia.
Frances Coleman Melvin
Frances Coleman Melvin, 75, of Petersburg, died Saturday, June 23, 2001.
She was a native of Amelia County, born the daughter of the late Lewis Aston Coleman and Elizabeth Blanton Coleman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Council Melvin Jr., and is survived by one son, Robert Walter Melvin of Chester; one daughter, Barbara "Betty" Melvin Keith of Sutherland; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Walter Emerson Coleman of Chester.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Blandford Cemetery. Pearl Barley Farrar of New York City, formerly of Amelia County, died at her New York residence on Tuesday, June 26, 2001.
She is survived by her sister, Josephine Jeter of Amelia; godson, Roscoe Trotman of New Jersey; nine nieces, six nephews; sister-in-law, Martha Barley of Amelia; devoted friend, Eva Blair of New York; many other relatives and friends. Leonard S. Ferrara
Lt. Col. Leonard S. Ferrara (retired U.S. Army), 69, of Chester, died Monday, June 25, 2001.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rosemarie Ferrara. He is survived by two sons, James L. Ferrara of Amelia and Leonard J. Ferrara of Winfield, Ill.; two daughters, Lynn M. Tetreault of Chesterfield and Jane C. Ferrara-Foulis of Richmond; and eight grandchildren.
A Mass of the Eucharist will be celebrated Thursday, June 28, 2001 at 7 p.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 17111 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, with Father James Cowles officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Interment with full military honors will be Friday morning in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George at 10:30 a.m. The procession will leave the church at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Cancer Institute. Arrangements are being handled by E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights.

Billy Ray Capps Sr., 66, of Jetersville, died Wednesday, June 27, 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene Capps, two sons, Billy Jr. and Bobby Hayes; two daughters, Vickie Chapman and Shannon Anderson; two stepsons, Mike and Greg McDowell; one stepdaughter, Delores Soth; eight grandchildren; five brothers and two sisters.
His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Road, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and where services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday. Interment will take place at the Virginia Veteran's Cemetery in Amelia.

Thomas L. Golding, 87, of Amelia, died June 27, 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Clarice L. Golding; six sons, Ralph and Arvil, both of Mechanicsville, James and Jimmy, both of Chester, Jerry of Richmond and Billy Golding of Keysville; five daughters, Shirley Smith of Marion, Linda Stepp of Issaquah, Wash., Betty Hodge of Powhatan, Janice Dailey of Manassas, and Becky Moore of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two sisters, Ruth Hammock and Ruby Mighosian; 40 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday night from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy., (Rt. 60), Powhatan and where services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. Interment Pine Grove Community Cemetery, Amelia.

Charles Edwin "Ed" Easter, 69, of Amelia, died on June 29, 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; sons, Jimmy and Charles of Amelia, and Larry of Jacksonville Fla.; daughter, Janet E. Poore of Amelia; sisters, Beulah Wilson and Ruby Nelson, both of Crewe, and Ila Nolan of Norfolk, Va.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place Monday at 2 p.m. at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home with burial in Little Flock Cemetery. Contributions may be made to either the Amelia Rescue Squad or the American Cancer Society.

Henry C. Sapp, 76, of Chesterfield, died June 30, 2001.
He is survived by one son, Henry "Hank" Sapp Jr. of Chesapeake; one brother, Hubert Sapp of Powhatan; three sisters, Zora Sapp of Powhatan, Dora Payne of Richmond and Belle MacMillan of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Maria and Douglas Sapp; and devoted friends, Jim and Lorraine Jones and Michelle Chapin.
