Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 28, at 11 a.m. in the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel in Richmond, Va. Interment will be in Maury Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Kitty M. Atkins; his son, Chuck G. Atkins Jr.; his mother, Frances S. Atkins; his sister and brother-in-law, Jenny and John Weaver; and his grandson, Tyler.

Ella Carolyn Hendricks Hayes, 77, of Macon, Ga., died Tuesday, March 26, 2002.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 30, at 1 p.m. at the St. John's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Leland Smith and the Rev. Dr. Donald E. Stansell officiating. Inurnment will follow in the West End Cemetery.
She was born in Glade Springs, Va., a daughter of the late John Rolson and Ella Gilmer Hendricks. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, the Wytheville Golf Club and several bridge clubs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren G. Hayes.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Robert Cleveland of Macon, Ga.; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Christina Hayes of Vinita, Okla.; three grandchildren and their spouses, Scott and Emily Robbins of Providence, R.I., Ross Robbins of Athens, Ga., and Nathan Hayes of Vinita, Okla.; a sister, Rolsie Dalton of Ashtabula, Ohio; and a niece, Linda Dalton Friddle of Washington, D.C.

Ella "Ruth" McKinnon, 75, died on Tuesday, March 26, 2002, in the Wythe County Community Hospital in Wytheville, Va.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 28, at 2 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Funeral Service Chapel in Marion, Va., with the Rev. Fred Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery in Marion, Va.
She was born Nov. 19, 1926, in Smyth County, Va. She was a retired food service employee of Southwestern State Hospital in Marion, Va. She lived at Asbury Center at Birdmont in Wytheville, Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Click McKinnon; and her parents, Steve C. and Sallie Marie Poole Hash.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ernest David and Arlene K. Brewer of Bland, Va.; two grandsons, Chad David Brewer and Curtis John Brewer, both of Bland, Va.; a special friend, Roy Trail of Marion, Va.; one sister, Euna Lundy of Marion, Va.; one brother and sister-in-law, Fred A. Major Michael Carl Schweighart, 41, of Rural Retreat, Va., died Friday, March 22, 2002, in Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.

He was a major in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a member of the All Nations Church. He was a graduate of East Tennessee State University.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Koster Schweighart.

Adam Wayne Renfroe, 24, of Bastian, Va., died Sunday, April 21, 2002, in an automobile accident in Bluefield, Va.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 25, at the Dudley Memorial Chapel in Bluefield, Va., with the Rev. Phil Parker officiating. Burial followed in the Grandview Memory Gardens.
He was born in Guntersville, Ala. He attended Graham High School and was of the Protestant faith.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Harris.
He is survived by his mother, Teresa Lynn Harris Puckett of Bastian, Va.; a sister, Keishia Nicole Renfroe of Bastian, Va.; his grandmother, Bonnie Michael of Albertsville, Ala.; great-grandmother, Lorraine Harris of Falls Mills, Va.; an aunt, Tammy Veasy of Boaz, Ala.; an uncle, William E. Harris Jr. of Falls Mills, Va.; and several great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.

William David Sarver, 80, of Pulaski, Va., and Dade City, Fla., died Sunday, April 14, 2002, in Dublin, Va.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 20, at 11 a.m. at the Dade City Church of God. Burial followed at the Chapel Hill Gardens.
He was born March 9, 1922, in Bland, Va. He attended the Dade City Church of God and was a member of the D.A.V. He worked for D&K Transport in Dade City Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie M. Sarver; his parents, Clarence Edward and Dora Mae Sarver; one brother, Charlie Sarver; and a grandchild, William Wesley Rogers.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Roy Rogers of Dade City, Fla., Kay and Nelvin Harrell of Eagle Lake, Fla., Charlotte and Tom Kemp of Lakeland, Fla., Ranay and Randy Williams of Jasper, Fla.; one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Celine Sarver of Oceanside, Calif.; one sister, Elizabeth Alexander of Bland, Va.; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a special niece and nephew, Melvin and Nona Sarver; and several other nieces and nephews.

Helen Blanche Coburn, 89, of Bastian, Va., died Monday, May 13, 2002, in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, N.C.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 17, at 11 a.m. at the Bastian Union Church, Bastian, Va., with the Rev. Lee McIntosh officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield, Va.
Born in the Round Bottom section of Bland County, Va., she was a daughter of the late Charles and Dora Walker Morehead. She was a member of the Bastian Union Church, Bastian, Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Claude Coburn; one sister, Leona Neal; and three brothers, Gilbert Morehead, Byron Morehead and Emory Morehead.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Roberta Coburn of Greensboro, N.C., Vernon and Connie Coburn of Bastian, Va., and Warren and Donna Coburn of Roanoke, Va.; two brothers, Jay Howard Morehead of Petersburg, W.Va., and C.L. Morehead of Millville, Del.; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Emory Junior Hill, 76, of Austinville, Va., died Monday, May 13, 2002, in the Columbia Pulaski Community Hospital, Pulaski, Va.

He was born in Carroll County, Va., a son of the late Sanders and Lillie Dale Hill. He was a member of Beulah United Methodist Church for more than 30 years, a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and retired from the New Jersey Zinc Company. He was a charter member of the Lead Mines Rescue Squad and a member of the Believers Quartet.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Treva Porter Hill; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Debra Hill of Galax, Va., Gary and Dinah Hill of Chester, Va., and Jeff and Jodi Hill of Salem, Va.; four grandchildren, Crystal Hill, Eric Hill, G.L. Hill and Shannon Hill; and one sister, Alice Riggins of Greensboro, N.C.

He was born in Bland County, Va., on May 1, 1938. He was a United Methodist minister.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Herman and Loma Atwell Tibbs; and two brothers, Kenneth Layman Tibbs and Adrian Tibbs.
Survivors include his wife, Frieda Hess Tibbs of Dungannon, Va.; son, John Trevor Kleindl of Manassas, Va.; sister, Erma Smith of Charlotte, N.C.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Troy Wayne and Peggy Tibbs of Bluefield, W.Va., Warren Nelson and Diane Tibbs of Bland, Va., Nicholas and Velata Tibbs of Topeka, Kan., and Betty Tibbs of Hardeeville, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

James Eugene Britt Sr., 62, of Darien, Ga., died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at his home.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 24, at 3:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Darien, Ga., with the Rev. Danny Grace officiating. Burial followed in St. Andrew¹s Cemetery.
He was a life-long resident of McIntosh County, Ga. He was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 177. He also was a member of Brunswick Masonic Lodge No. 717, A.F.M., Alee Shrine Temple and First Presbyterian Church were he was a past elder.
He is survived by a wife, Betty McGee Britt of Darien, Ga.; three sons, James E. Britt Jr., Brunswick and Jesse McGee Britt Sr., and Robert Clark Britt, all of Darien, Ga.; one daughter, Angela E. Porter of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; three sisters, Barbara Hunnicutt of Metter, Ga., Sandra Giles of Macon, Ga., and Margie Crosby of Pooler, Ga.; six grandchildren.
