Edmond Wayne Peery, 67, of Bastian, Va., died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at the New River Valley Medical Center, Radford, Va.
There will be no services.
He was born March 26, 1935, in Johnson City, Tenn., a son of the late Troy and Hazel Burchfield Peery.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Pennington Peery of Bastian, Va.; and one daughter, Melanie Peery of Bastian, Va.

Elmer Wayne Tickle, 75, of Bland, Va., died Friday, May 30, 2003, in a Bluefield hospital.
Funeral service was held Sunday, June 1, at 2 p.m. at Newberry Funeral Home in Bland, Va., with the Rev. Lee McIntosh and the Rev. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Burial was in the Bland Cemetery, Bland, Va.
Born April 15, 1928, in Bland County, Va., he was a lifelong resident of Bland, Va. He retired from the Tazewell County Correctional Department. He was a member of the Bastian Union Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lemuel Hezekiah and Ida Louise Blankenship Tickle; three brothers, Fred Tickle, Jesse Tickle and Everett Tickle; three sisters, Mary Lou Tickle, Josephine Pauley and Mildred Green.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie R. Tickle; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Mary Lee Tickle of Rocky Mount, Va., and Barry and Lisa Tickle of Bland, Va.; one brother and sister-in-law, Kent and Margaret Tickle of Bland, Va.; one sister, Mable Tickle of Bland, Va.; and four grandchildren, April Tickle, Ashley Tickle, Elizabeth Tickle and Alisha Tickle, all of Bland, Va.

Roger Lee Radford, 56, of Narrows, Va., died Tuesday, March 18, 2003.

He was born in Giles County, Va.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall Radford.
Survivors include his mother, Alma F. Radford of the home; one brother, Robert F. Radford of Rocky Gap, Va.; one sister, Betty Meadows of Rocky Gap, Va.; two nephews, three nieces, four great-nephews and three great-nieces.

Linda Clay Burton, 44, of Broken Arrow, Okla., died Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, at St. John’s Hospital, Broken Arrow, Okla., after three months of declining health.
Graveside services were held Friday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m. at Danville Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Neal Isom and David Bivens officiating.
She was born Dec. 16, 1957, in Danville, Va. She lived most of her life in Danville, Va., and had resided in Oklahoma for the past 10 years. She was a member of RHEMA Bible Church and was employed at RHEMA Bible Institute.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Glenn Burton on May 12, 2002; her parents, Charlie H. Clay and Dora Wyatt Clay; and a brother, Carrington Clay.
Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Whitehead and Sandra Burton, both of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a son, Joshua Burton of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a brother, Charlie Clay of Danville, Va.; a sister, Edna Cundiff of Danville, Va.; and two grandchildren.

Lida Elsie Havens, 92, of Bland, Va., died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at St. Luke's Hospital, Bluefield, W.Va.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m. at the A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, Va., with the Rev. Donald White and the Rev. Timmy Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery.
She was born March 13, 1910, at Oakvale, W.Va. She was a member of the Shady Grove United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus William Havens; parents, James and Betty Blankenship Hughes; and two grandchildren.

Cora Viola Hatfield Morgan, 99, of Bastian, Va., died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. at the Bastian Church of God with the Rev. David Webb officiating. Interment will follow in the Musick Cemetery in Bastian, Va.
She was a member of Big Cub Missionary Baptist Church in West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Susan Davis Hatfield; one daughter, Eunice Toler; and two sons, Robert Wendell Morgan and Jeanna Eli Morgan.

Charles Eugene "Charlie Bug" Stowers, 28, of Pearisburg, Va., died Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at Wythe County Community Hospital in Wytheville, Va., from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle incident on Interstate 77.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 13, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows, Va., with the Rev. Bill Sleasman officiating. Burial will follow in Sunny Point Cemetery in the Clearfork section of Bland County, Va., near Rocky Gap, Va.
Born March 28, 1975, he was employed as a laborer with a flooring company.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James Allen Shrader; and his paternal grandfather, Charles Bernard Stowers.

The Rev. Fred Jackson Saunders, 92, of Rocky Gap, Va., died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002, in the Bluefield Regional Medical Center, Bluefield, W.Va.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 26, at 11 a.m. at Tynes Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church with the Rev. Andrew Montgomery, assisted by Brother Todd Frence officiating. Interment will follow in the Hoagans Family Cemetery.
He was born in Bland County, Va., a son of the late Lee P. and Linnie Price Saunders. He was a lifelong member of Tynes Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Rocky Gap, Va. He was a retired minister from Kyle Chapel in Gary, W.Va., and Porter's Memorial in Anawalt, W.Va. He was a retired coal miner from Algoma Coal and Coke Company in Algoma, W.Va. He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Estellia Saunders of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Powell and Jewell Saunders of Bluefield, W.Va.; two daughters and son-in-law, Deloris and William Harris of Rocky Gap, Va., and Christine McClanahan of Temple Hill, Md.; two sisters and brother-in-law, Martha and Jimmie Cobbs of Rocky Gap, Va., and Freda Scruggs of Rocky Gap, Va.; 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Charles E. "Eddie" Hubble, 72, of Lorton Lick Road, Bluewell, W.Va., died Monday, March 24, 2003, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 27, at 1 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, W.Va., with the Rev. Omar Burns officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Courthouse Road, Princeton, W.Va.
Born Jan. 31, 1931, in Ceres, Va., he had been a resident of Bluewell, W.Va., for 42 years and was the owner of Hubble Grading and Lumber Company for 21 years. At the time of his death, he was retired from Swope Construction Company because of his health. He had worked on several highway construction sites in West Virginia and Virginia and strip mining sites of Jr. Pocahontas Coal Company, Joe Turley Coal Company, Anderson and Anderson Coal Company, and Tom Seay Construction Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, member of the Ceres Alumni Association and attended the Wilderness Creek Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Andrew Hubble and Mary Virginia Umbarger Hubble; an infant daughter; and two brothers, W.A. Hubble Jr. and Warren Calvin Hubble.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ann Hodges Hubble of Lorton Lick Road, Bluewell, W.Va.; a son, Calvin Edward Hubble of the home; a sister, Virgil Ann Britton of Route 1, Ceres, Va.; and a special friend, Kelly Hubbard.

He was born April 13, 1913, in Bluefield, W.Va. He was an avid golfer, learning as a young boy caddying at Bluefield Country Club. He was a charter member of Blue Hills Golf Club in Roanoke, Va., and retired as golf pro from Naval Surface Weapons Center at Dahlgren, Va.
He was preceded in death his wife of 65 years, Virginia Neel Kitts, on March 16, 2002; his parents, Jerome Blair and Lucy Ella Humphries Kitts.; and five brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include one son, William Keith Kitts of Ventura, Calif.; one daughter, Nancy Kitts Hoge of Bland, Va.; one granddaughter and her spouse, Rebecca Hoge and David Bane of Bland, Va.; two grandsons and their spouses, James Meek and Barbara Hoge of Tobaccoville, N.C., and Edward Todd and Sherry Hoge of Bland, Va.; one great-granddaughter, Morgan Marie Hoge of Bland, Va.; one sister, Lillian Spurgeon of Heritage Hall of Tazewell, Va.; two stepgrandchildren, Eden Bane and Brent Bane of Bluefield, W.Va.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
