Virginia, U.S., Marriage Records, 1936-2014

Irving Drill
Irving Drill, 77, of Reston died Sept. 17, 2002 at Fairfax Hospital.
Mr. Drill was born in Newark, N.J. on April 11, 1925.
He graduated from New York University with a bachelor of arts degree. Mr. Drill was also an Army serviceman in Europe during World War II.
In 1951 Mr. Drill began his career as an announcer at WVEC radio and television in Hampton, Va. While at WVEC he received a first-place award for news coverage from the Virginia Associated Press Broadcasters Association.
In 1956 Mr. Drill joined ABC Television in New York and became director of traffic operations and worked on satellite communications for coverage of the moon walk and the Olympics.
In 1970, he moved to Northern Virginia to join COMSAT, Communications Satellite Corporation.
Mr. Drill worked in Herndon as vice president of the board of Vecinos Unidos/Neighbors United in Herndon. In his spare time, Mr. Drill also tutored at their after school homework assistance program.
He was also a UNICEF volunteer, member and co-chair of the Civil, Human and Voting Rights Task Force of the Washington Inter-Religious Staff Community.
Most recently, Mr. Drill taught an introduction to jazz course at the Vienna Community Center. Also, he was a founding member and several term president of the Northern Virginia Ethical Society in Vienna.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janet Drill of Reston. He is also survived by four children, Lawrence Michael Drill of Mechanicsville, Md., Steven Charles Drill of Reston, Laura Gayle Williams of Blacksburg, Va. and Sabrina Lynn Drill of Los Angeles, Calif. and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, Sept. 29 at the Northern Virginia Ethical Society in Vienna. Contributions in his name can be made to Vecinos Unidos/Neighbors United for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF.

Georgina Goncalves de Oliveira
Georgina Goncalves de Oliveira, 72, of Reston died Sept, 23, 2002, after a brief illness.
Miss de Oliveira was a naturalized citizen from Brazil who resided in the home of her employers, the late Alfred J. and Mary Jane Bordenlos, located in the Golf Course Square Cluster of Hunters Woods.
Miss de Oliveira never married and spent most of her life as a care giver for Mrs. Bordenlos. She continued to live in the Bordenlos home.
She is survived by a sister, Italina Santo Cantos of Brazil, and several nieces and nephews from Brazil. She is also survived by her close friends and neighboors who looked after her during her brief illness, including Kay Rodgers, Camilla Ann Scott, Hannah Uster and Alice Demichelis.
A memorial service was held on Oct. 2 at 11 a.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Reston.

Patrick Richard Loop Sr.
Patrick Richard Loop Sr., 53, of Sterling died on Sept. 26, 2002.
He was born Nov. 1, 1948 in Muncie, Pa. He spent most of his childhood in Youngstown, Ohio and at age 11 he moved to Daytona Beach, Fla.
In 1969, Mr. Loop moved to Washington, D.C. and married his wife of 33 years, Brenda Moffett Loop.
He was the owner of Basin St. restaurant, located at Regal Plaza in Countryside and was also a real estate broker and owner of Piedmont Real Estate.
Mr. Loop is survived by his wife, two children, Patrick R. Loop Jr. of Sterling and Tara A. Loop of Manassas, six grandchildren and many family members and friends.
Services were held on Oct. 2 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Herndon. Interment was at Marshall Cemetery in Marshall, Va.
Arrangements by Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon.

Robert M. Bowman
Robert M. Bowman, 69, of Satsuma, Fla., and formerly of Sterling died on Nov. 26, 2002, at his residence.
He was born on Feb. 6, 1933, in Herndon and was a graduate of Herndon High School. Mr. Bowman also served in the U.S. Army.
He was the owner and operator of Bowman's Furniture in Herndon. After retiring in 1990, Mr. Bowman moved to Florida and spent most of his time fishing.
Mr. Bowman is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" B. Bowman of Sterling and his parents, Arlis and Dorothy K. Bowman of Sterling, three sons, Robert M. Bowman II and Michael H. Bowman, both of Broad Run and William M. Bowman of Sterling. Mr. Bowman is also survived by six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Dec. 2, 2002, at 11 a.m. Interment was scheduled at Union Cemetery in Leesburg. Arrangements were by Loudoun Funeral Chapels.

Srikanta Amruther
Srikanta Amruther, 50, of Herndon died Nov. 23, 2002. He was the husband of Claudia and father of Iyer.
He is survived by his mother Lakshmi, two brothers, three sisters, three nieces and three nephews.
Services were held on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at Adams-Green Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to UNICEF. Arrangements were by Adams-Green Funeral Home.

David Malcolm Hunsaker
David Malcolm Hunsaker, 58, of Sterling died on Nov. 29, 2002, at the Loudoun Hospital Center in Leesburg.
Mr. Hunsaker was born July 30, 1944, in Riverside, Calif., to the late Perry L. Hunsaker and Lois B. Coogan Hunsaker.
He was an attorney at law for Putbrese, Hunsaker and Trent in Sterling.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Hunsaker of Sterling; his step-mother Helen Hunsaker of Port Orchard, Wash.; three children, Justin Hunsaker of Luray, Va., Jacque Adams of Ridgecrest, Calif., and Deborah Bird of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and his brother, Phillip (Joann) and a niece Sarah Hunsaker, all of San Diego, Calif.
Mr. Hunsaker is also survived by three grandchildren.
A service was held on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at 6 p.m. at the Loudoun Funeral Chapels in Leesburg. Interment was private. Arrangements were by Loudoun Funeral Chapels.

Jo Ann Privott
Jo Ann Privott of Sterling died Nov. 30, 2002 at Loudoun Hospital Center.
Ms. Privott was born Jan. 19, 1953, in Ahsokie, N.C., to John Andrusia and the late Fay Minton Andrusia.
She moved to Herndon in the early 1970s and moved again to Sterling in 1986.
With more than two decades of local real estate experience, Ms. Privott worked for several agencies in Herndon and Eastern Loudoun County, including Hometown Properties in Herndon and the Remax office in CountrySide. In 1990, she joined ERA Teachers in Herndon, where she consistently topped sales and held training sessions for both veteran and new real estate agents.
She is survived by her farther John Andrusia of Ahoskie, N.C., and son David M. Privott of Sterling. She is also survived by one aunt, Alice Andrusia of New Britain, Canada and cousins Lester Andrusia of New Britain, Nancy Patrick of Casselberry, Fla., Brenda Murphy of Asheville, N.C., and Jim Minton of Ahoskie, N.C.
A memorial service will be held Dec. 14 at 1 p.m. at Christian Fellowship Church at 21673 Beaumeade Cir., in Ashburn. Memorials in her name may be made to Christian Fellowship Church.
Interment in Ahoskie, N.C. Arrangements by Adams-Green Funeral Home.

Anne Marie Jay
Anne Marie Jay, 56, of Ashburn died Jan. 28, 2003 at Loudoun Hospital Center.
Mrs. Jay was born Oct. 14, 1946 in Seattle, Wash., to Helen Fieve Bryson of Spokane, Wash., and the late Byron Bryson.
She is survived by her husband H. David Jay of Ashburn, daughters Sara Elisabeth Coplen and Wendy Marie Coplen of San Diego, Calif., and stepsons Joshua, Joseph and Jacob Jay of Sterling. Mrs. Jay is also survived by brother William James Bryson of Portland, Ore.
A memorial service was held Jan. 31 at Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon. Interment private. Memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, Relay LIfe Grateful Living Team, 124 Park St., SE, Vienna, Va., 22180.

Nancy O. Cheslow
Nancy Osgood Cheslow, 71, a former Herndon resident and Herndon Elementary School teacher, died Jan. 23, 2003.
Mrs. Cheslow was born April 15, 1931 in Boston and grew up in Nashua, N.H. Earning her bachelor’s degree in education from Lesley College in Cambridge, Mass., in 1954, she taught elementary school in Chesterfield and Fairfax counties in Virginia, including 20 years at Herndon Elementary School.
A Northern Virginia resident since 1967, Mrs. Cheslow lived in Herndon, Fairfax City and most recently in Vienna. She retired from Fairfax County Public Schools in 1991 and had been a student at the Art League School in Alexandria.
She was a member of Truro Episcopal Church in Fairfax.
Mrs. Cheslow was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Cheslow.
She is survived by her children, Stephen Cheslow of St. Petersburg, Fla., Dianne Miller of Ashland, Va., David Cheslow of Salem, Va., and Mark Cheslow of Blacksburg, Va.; her sister Cheryl Curtin of Arlington, Mass.; and six grandchildren.
The viewing was held at Truro Episcopal Church at 10520 Main St. in Fairfax Jan. 29 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services were held Jan. 30 at 1 p.m. Interment will be private.
Memorials may be sent to NIDCD National Temporal Bone Registry, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, 243 Charles St., Boston, Mass., 02114.

Virginia L. Paige
Virginia Lee "Ginny" Paige, 56, of Centreville and formerly of Loudoun, died Jan. 24, 2003 at Reston Hospital.
Mrs. Paige was born Nov. 26, 1946 in Loudoun County to Hazel Paige Dean of Herndon and the late Thurman Dean. Along with her mother, she is survived by children Adell Norris of Centreville and Alexander Norris of Manassas, along with 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
She is also survived by sisters Hester Dean, Peggy Hogan and Louise White, all of Herndon; brothers Harold Wilkerson of Herndon, Sammy Dean of Manassas, and Jerry Paige of Luray, Va.
Services were held Jan. 30 at Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Ramza Saddic
Ramza (Lena) Saddic, 90, of North Cape May, N.J., and formerly of Philadelphia, Pa., died Jan. 21, 2003 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House, N.J.
She was the grandmother of Jan Cook Tirrell and her husband, Bill Tirrell Sr. of Herndon.
Mrs. Saddic was born in Kousba, Lebanon, on Jan. 17, 1913. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elias Nicholas Saddic, who died in 1977, brothers John and Malad Saddic, and sister Rose Farrell. She was also preceded in death by son Louis Nicholas Saddic who died in 1963, and great-great granddaughter Alexandra Harding Tirrell.
She is survived by daughter Mary Cook and son Frederic Saddic, both of New Jersey; sister Helen Hamaty, and brother Louis Saddic. Mrs. Saddic is also survived by grandchildren Jan Cook Tirrell of Herndon, Dale Cook of Florida, Susan Saddic Tavella of Philadelphia, Carmella Saddic Cummings of Ventnor, N.J., Nancy Saddic Mancuso of Galloway, N.J., and Mark Saddic of Philadelphia, Pa.
She also had 11 great-grandchildren: Janet Tirrell Snellbaker, Bill Tirrell Jr., Michael D. Cook, Elizabeth R. Cook, Christina Cummings, Rachel Cummings, Franca Tavella, Justin Tavella, Salvatore Mancuso, Nicole Mancuso, and Alexa Saddic. Mrs. Saddic is also survived by five great-great-grandchildren: Jeremy W.T. Reynolds, Jacob C. Snellbaker, Joshua B. Snellbaker, Caitlyn N. Coldwell and Bryce W. Tirrell.
A viewing and funeral services were held Jan. 24, 2003 at Evoy Funeral Home in North Cape May, N.J. Interment was at Lawnview Cemetery in Rockledge, Pa., on Jan. 25, 2003. Memorials may be made in her name to her lifelong church, St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church 820 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, Pa., 19082.

Geneva M. Hill
Geneva Mildred Hill, 67, of Reston died Jan. 24, 2003 at Reston Hospital Center.
Mrs. Hill was born March 15, 1935.
She is survived by Sylster Puller of Reston, son Wayne E. Hill and his wife Alice of Reston, son Anthony Alsberry, also of Reston, three sisters, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of nieces nephews, cousins and friends.
Services to be held Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. in the Greater Zion Baptist Church in Ashburn. Arrangements by Sterling Funeral Service in Sterling.

Harold C. Sullivan
Harold Clifton Sullivan, 87, died March 13, 2003, at his residence in Great Falls.
Mr. Sullivan was born Oct. 28, 1915, in Orange, Va., to the late Theodore and Lora Peacher Sullivan and brother of Thelma, Ann, Lorene, Elsie and Dean.
He is survived by his wife, Carmella C. Sullivan of Great Falls; children Thomas B. Sullivan of Blackshear, Ga., Harold A. Sullivan of Palm Bay, Fla., Michael J. Sullivan of Lynchburg, Va., and Carmelita Williams of Herndon; and 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A mass of Christian burial was held March 17, 2003, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment was private. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northern Virginia, "Loudoun Team," 9300 Lee Highway, Fifth Floor, Fairfax, Va., 22031. Arrangements were by Adams-Green Funeral Home.

Joseph F. Dellagiarino
Joseph Francis Dellagiarino, 91, of Reston died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital.
Mr. Dellagiarino was born March 3, 1912, in New York to the late Pio and Angela Castignoli Dellagiarino.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary F. Purpura Dellagiarino, and a son, Nicholas Carlozzi Dellagiarino.
He is survived by his son George Dellagiarino of Reston, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, March 22, 2003, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Interment was private.
Arrangements were by Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon.
