Dominic David Derby, infant son of Michael Bryan and Angela Loree Duff Derby of Broad Run, was born and died March 27, 1998, at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, D.C.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Bryan Derby, and a sister, Alexandria Derby; his maternal grandparents, Royle and Judith Duff of Brevard, N.C.; his paternal grandparents, James and Dorothy Derby of Ellenwood, Ga.; and great-grandmothers LaVerne Duff of Decatur, Ga., and Lillie Thompson of Hendersonville, N.C.

Lewis Myers
Bealeton farmer
Lewis Edward Myers, 91, of Bealeton, died March 27, 1998, at his home.
Mr. Myers was born in Franklin Grove, Ill., on Feb. 15, 1907, a son of the late Daniel Jacob and Etta K. Sandy Myers. He was a farmer and a member of the Midland Church of the Brethren. He also had worked for 10 years at the FMC plant in Fredericksburg. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace M. Myers.
He is survived by three sons: Leroy Myers, William Myers and Lawrence Myers, all of Bealeton; four daughters: June Grimes of Bealeton, Alice Will of Orange, Gloria Sheppard of Mollusk and Peggy Lee of Deltona, Fla.; a sister, Birdie Weimer of Cocoa, Fla.; a brother, Ernest Myers of Warrenton; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Kendall Elmore led a funeral service March 30, at Midland Church of the Brethren. Interment was in the Midland Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

Arthur Charbonneau
Air Force veteran
Arthur John Charbonneau, 38, of Warrenton died March 27, 1998, at his home.
Mr. Charbonneau was born in Ticonderoga, N.Y., on July 19, 1959. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served from 1978 to 1982. He was a stay-at-home dad who helped raise his sons. He was a member of the former Vint Hill Farms Catholic community and a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Warrenton. He was a member of the Oblates of Mary Magdelene Mission Support Group. The avid Yankees fan enjoyed baseball.
He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Morris Charbonneau.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Charbonneau and two sons, David Anthony Charbonneau and John Arthur Charbonneau, all of Warrenton; his mother, Katherine N. Charbonneau of Ticonderoga, N.Y.; four brothers: Paul Melvin Charbonneau of Memphis, Tenn., Kevin Charbonneau of Ticonderoga, N.Y., Peter Charbonneau of Oceanside, Calif., and Melvin Charbonneau of North Springfield, Vt.; and three sisters: Phyllis Mitchell of Oceanside, Calif., and Mary Cavitt and Angela Macalpine, both of Ticonderoga, N.Y..
A funeral service took place March 31 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Warrenton. Interment was private.

Harvey King Jr.
Merchant Marine
Harvey Edgebert King Jr., 48, of El Paso, Texas, died March 27, 1998, at his home.
Mr. King was born Feb. 13, 1950. He was a retired Merchant Marine.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Taylor King of El Paso, Texas; a son, Harvey E. Johnson of Washington, D.C.; four daughters: Kamara King of Pasadina, Calif., Melba and Taylor King, both of El Paso, Texas, and Kelly Rogers of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Karen King-Ibrahim of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Alfred "Rocky" King of Fort Knox, Ky., and Michael King Sr. of Rochester, N.Y.; his mother, Bessie Miles of Washington, D.C.
Pastor Frances Belle and the Rev. Phil Reller will lead a funeral service at 2 p.m. Friday, April 3, at Mount Nebo Baptist Church in Marshall. Visitation will take place at the church one hour before the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Theodore Burke
The Plains farmer
Theodore Franklin Burke, 84, of The Plains died March 23, 1998, at Oak Springs Comprehensive Care Center in Warrenton.
Mr. Burke was born in Rappahannock County on Dec. 14, 1913, the son of the late William M. and Alice Burke. He was a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia M. Burke of The Plains; two daughters, Jean Alice Robinson of Remington and Anna Mae Bragg of Culpeper; a son, Theodore F. Burke Jr. of The Plains; two sisters, Juanita Burke and Gertha Grigsby, both of Castleton; a brother, James Burke of Baltimore; a half-brother, Earl Nicholson of Culpeper; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26, at Amissville Baptist Church Cemetery.
Charles Young
Space analyst
Charles Edward Young, 83, of Marshall, died March 23, 1998, at Fauquier Hospital.
Mr. Young was born in Altoona, Pa., on Aug. 21, 1914, the son of the late George Blaine Young and Anne Henrietta Ermine Young. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, having served in World War II. He was a retired space analyst for the federal government.
Mr. Young was active with the 1st Virginia Regiment of the Continental Line, Revolutionary War re-enactors. As the regimental surgeon, for more than 20 years he volunteered, giving talks on 18th century medicine at historic sites. He was a longtime member of the National Capital Model Soldiers Society. As a member of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club he maintained a two-mile stretch of the trail near Big Meadows. He also was active with the Piedmont Railroaders.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Shirley Young.
He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Young of Marshall; a son, Karl Young of Front Royal; and a sister, Dorothy H. Young of Altoona, Pa.
Funeral services were private.

Betty Lewis
Former Flint Hill resident
Betty B. Lewis, 79, of Washington, D.C., formerly of Flint Hill, died March 21, 1998, at her home.
Mrs. Lewis was born Dec. 30, 1918.
She is survived by a son, Lester H. Bridgett of Fort Washington, Md.; a daughter, Dolores B. Sturdivant of Washington, D.C.; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
The Rev. James Price will lead a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Flint Hill. Interment will be in the Macedonia Odd Fellows Cemetery in Flint Hill.
Russell Deavers
Midland mechanic
Russell G. Deavers, 52, of Midland died March 22, 1998, at Fauquier Hospital.
Mr. Deavers was born May 9, 1945, in Alexandria. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was a hunter, marksman and known as an "ace mechanic."
He is survived by his son, Andrew Jason Deavers of Nokesville; a daughter, Gina Ann Deavers of Washington, D.C.; his parents, Grover C. and Nettie C. Deavers of Nokesville; a sister, Phyllis Ryder of Calverton and one granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. A memorial gathering will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at the Deaver residence in Midland.
Susan McCormack
Bank employee
Susan Lynn McCormack, 36, of Spotsylvania, died March 22, 1998, at home, following a long illness.
Mrs. McCormack was born Oct. 30, 1961, in Arlington. She graduated from Fauquier High School in 1980 and went to work for Fauquier National Bank.
In 1987 she was diagnosed with leukemia and underwent a successful bone marrow transplant. A community fund-raising event was held to assists her family which was supported by many family members and devoted friends in the Warrenton area.
Mrs. McCormack was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg.
She is survived by her husband, Luke J. McCormack; two young sons, Luke Joshua McCormack and Joseph Alexander McCormack; her mother, Carroll A. Daymude of Spotsylvania; her father, Robert W. Morgan of Winchester; and paternal grandmother and bone marrow donor, Mrs. J.R. Morgan of Waynesville, N.C.
A funeral service took place March 25 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Fredericksburg.

Milton Gulick
Aldie farmer
Milton Hutchison Gulick, 85, of Aldie died March 18, 1998.
Mr. Gulick was a farmer all his life.
He is survived by his wife, Asenath Ayers Gulick of Aldie; his children, Milton Ayers and Sanford Hawkes Gulick, and Mary Trone beach, all of Aldie; a brother, Beverly Gary Gulick of Cleveland; 12 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Jane Barr led a graveside service March 21 at Sudley Cemetery in Manassas.
