George Robert Embrey, 42, of Amissville died July 5, 1998, at his home.
Mr. Embrey was born in Washington, D.C., on July 26, 1955, the son of the late Francis Scott Embrey and Suzanne Lea Embrey. He worked as a plant manager for Virginia Concrete.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lee Embrey of Amissville; three sons: George R. Embrey Jr., Justin C. Embrey and Cody L. Embrey, all of Amissville; and a sister, Frances Mitchell of Fairfax.
The Rev. Marshall Braylo will lead a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 9, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. Interment will be in Jeffersonton Baptist Church Cemetery.
William Smoot
Construction foreman
William Randolph Smoot, 61, of Washington, D.C., formerly of Warrenton, died July 5, 1998, at Washington Hospital Center.
Mr. Smoot was born May 11, 1937. He was a retired foreman for a construction company.
He is survived by his mother, Lucy Smoot Sartor of Washington, D.C.; and a sister, June Jones of Washington, D.C.
Visitation will take place from 10:30 a.m. until noon Friday, July 10, at First Baptist Church in Waterloo. The Rev. James Little will lead a funeral service at noon Friday, July 10, at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
James White
Retired printer
James Francis White, 90, of Warrenton died June 27, 1998, in Warrenton Overlook Care Center.
Mr. White was born in New Windsor, N.Y., on July 29, 1907, the son of the late Felix Leonard White and Margaret Ryan White. He was a graduate of Newburgh Academy and National Printing Institute. He worked in New York City for the Kelly Printing Corp. for many years until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Florence Marie Johnston.
He is survived by two daughters, Joan W. Goodenough and Jeanneane W. Benfer, both of Warrenton; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Father Michael Bazan led a Memorial Mass July 2 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Warrenton. Interment was in Bright View Cemetery.
John Williams
Jeffersonton resident
John Henry Williams, 77, of Jeffersonton, died July 6, 1998, at Culpeper Hospital.
Mr. Williams was born Jan. 9, 1921.
He is survived by a daughter, Priscilla Thornton of Bristow; three sisters: Ruth Terrell of Rochester, N.Y., Dorothy Carpenter of Fairfax, and Julia Johnson of Washington, D.C.; two brothers, Herbert Williams of Rixeyville and Charlie Williams of Culpeper, and two grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. until noon Saturday, July 11, at Upper Zion Baptist Church in Jeffersonton. The Rev. Harrison Williams will lead a funeral service at the church at noon. Interment will be in the Morton Family Cemetery in Jeffersonton.
Patricia Brander
Air traffic controller
Patricia Lynn Brander, 40, of Warrenton, died June 23, 1998, at her home.
Mrs. Brander was born in Miami Springs, Fla., on Dec. 31, 1957. She was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and worked as an air traffic controller with the Federal Aviation Administration. She was an active member of the Professional Women Controllers and a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Warrenton.
She is survived by her husband, Norman C. Brander of Warrenton; two daughters, Ann Louise Brander and Christina Lynn Brander, both of Warrenton; her father, Robert C. Rohrborn of Gilford, N.H.; her mother, Barbara P. Snell of Pompano Beach, Fla., and two brothers, Robert C. Rohrborn, Jr. of Salisbury, N.H., and Richard C. Rohrborn of Laconia, N.H.
The Rev. James Chipps will lead a memorial service at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at St. James Episcopal Church in Warrenton.

Andre Mack Thomas, 10, of Warrenton, died June 20, 1998, in Remington.
Andre was a student at Central Elementary School in Warrenton and a member of the Bridgett Carolers at St. James Baptist Church in Bealeton.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Thomas of Warrenton; his father, Larry Kenny Jr. of Fredericksburg; five sisters: Lauvita Thomas, Maxine Kenny and Monica Taylor, all of Warrenton, Tina Kenny of Centreville, and Aminta Kenny of Gainesville; two brothers, Shabua Kenny and John Morton of Warrenton; his grandmother, Gladys Thomas of Warrenton; and two grandfathers, Robert Thomas of Opal, and Larry Kenny Sr. of Bethel.
The Rev. Reese Washington will lead a funeral service at noon Thursday, June 25, at St. James Baptist Church in Bealeton. Visitation will take place at the church one hour before the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Ruby F. Thompson, 89, of Remington, died June 22, 1998, at Oak Springs Comprehensive Care Facility in Warrenton.
She is survived by a son, Andrew A. Thompson of Woodbridge; two daughters, Ruth Barros of Holbrook, Mass., and Audrey T. Jones of Remington; seven grandsons; five great-grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew H. Thompson, and a son, John H. Thompson.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at Providence Baptist Church in Remington. The Rev. Earl W. McKenzie will lead a funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, June 26, at the church. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery.
Henry Abaunza
Army veteran
Henry Villalobos, 81, of Fauquier County, died of cancer on June 17, 1998.
Born in Leon, Nicaragua, to Gen. Gustavo Abaunza and Angelina Villalobos, Mr. Abaunza came to the United States and volunteered for service in the U.S. Army during World War II. Sent to the Pacific, he fought in New Guinea. He became a U.S. citizen and met and married (after 11 days) Sheilagh Anne Twist.
Mr. Abaunza is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sheilagh Anne Twist Abaunza; a son, John Thomas Abaunza; a daughter, Barbara Anne Abaunza; and a granddaughter.

Charles Edward Pullen, 80, of Fairfax, died June 21, 1998, at INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital.
Mr. Pullen was born in Rappahannock County on Jan. 2, 1918, the son of the late Thomas and Bertha Tharpe Pullen. He had been a professional truck driver for 40 years. He was a member of First Bible Baptist Church in Manassas Park.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle L. "Dolly" Pullen of Fairfax; three sons: Charles Edward Pullen Jr. of Culpeper, Larry Russell Pullen of Winchester and Thomas Lee Pullen of Fredericksburg; a daughter, Judy Darlene Pullen of Modesto, Calif.; two sisters, Lona Dowell of Culpeper and Martha Garrison of Amissville; five brothers: Benjamin Pullen of Goldvein, Jim Pullen of Shenandoah, Wilbur Pullen of Manassas, Presley Pullen of Criglersville, and William Pullen of Collins, Colo., and 13 grandchildren.
The Rev. Denver Turner led a funeral service June 24 at Moser Chapel in Warrenton. Interment was in Amissville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
James Tines Sr.

James David Tines Sr. of Rectortown, died June 17, 1998, at Fauquier Hospital.
Mr. Tines was born on Oct. 7, 1938. He was a retired meat cutter.
He is survived by his mother, Elsie Tines of Rectortown; five daughters: Donna Dukes and Dena Denny, both of Manassas, Trina Carter of Washington, D.C., Dana Tines of Alexandria, and Devan Tines of Rectortown; four sons: Randy Harris of Clinton, Md., James Tines Jr. of Rectortown, Eric Jackson of Lake Ridge, and Joseph Tines of Annandale; six sisters: Blanche Grant of Rectortown, Mattie Yates of Midland, Frances Compton of Woodbridge, Shirley Hawkins of Bryan's Road, Md., Vivian McQueen of Detroit, and Thelma Mitchell of Clarington, Pa.; four brothers: Reginald Tines of Warrenton, William Tines of Marshall, Lusby Tines of Thoroughfare and John Hilton Tines of Orlean; 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Pastor Norman Smith led a funeral service June 22 at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Rectortown. Interment was in the Tines Family Cemetery in Rectortown.
Howard Monroe
Carpenter
Howard Keith Monroe, 46, of Warrenton, died June 21, 1998, at Fauquier Hospital.
Mr. Monroe was born in China Lake, Calif., on Aug. 25, 1951. He was a carpenter and a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast.
He is survived by his wife, Donna May Smith of Falls Church; his mother, Beverly Evans Monroe of Warrenton; two sons, Jonathan Michael Monroe of Orlando, Fla., and Keith Edwards Monroe of Falls Church; a daughter, Cara May Monroe of Falls Church; two sisters, Karen Jean Oldaker of Winchester and Cheryl Kathleen McClaugherty of Jacksonville, Fla., and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Forrest Keith Monroe.
A funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, June 26, at Moser Chapel in Warrenton. Interment will be in Bright View Cemetery.
