Betty Nancy Lee, 72, of Upperville died May 26, 1999.
Mrs. Lee was born in England, the daughter of the late Arthur Henry and Alice Elizabeth Mooreman Holder. She was retired as general manager of Springfield Farm. She was a member of Upperville Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Frederick William Lee; a daughter, Bonnie Elizabeth Singhas of Berryville and a grandson.
The Rev. Gary Chiles led a memorial service May 28 at Upperville Baptist Church.

Leroy Fewell

Leroy Townsend "Roy" Fewell, 68, of Stephens City died June 5, 1999, at his home.
Mr. Fewell was born in Delaplane on April 1, 1931, the son of the late Charles Wesley and Mary Etta Wright Fewell. He was a self-employed carpeting contractor, retiring after 30 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Mountain View and was a former social member of American Legion Post 21.
He is survived by two daughters, Joyce Strosnider of Winchester and Melinda Curtis of Great Falls; two sons, David Fewell of Arlington and Ronnie Darnell of Manassas; a sister, Betty L. Legg of Manassas; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his former wife, Valley Virginia Fewell.
He was preceded in death by two children, Thomas "Tommy" Fewell and Virginia Louise Fewell.
Evangelists Charles Doughty and Doug Hardman led a funeral service June 9 at Omps Funeral Home. Interment was in Ivy Hill Cemetery in Upperville.

Paulette Hodgson

Paulette Hunsberger Hodgson, 49, of Glenmont, N.Y., died May 26, 1999, at Hospice Inn in Albany, N.Y., following a battle with breast cancer.
Mrs. Hodgson was born in Warrenton on March 20, 1950, and lived in Midland until she married Joe Hodgson in 1969. She attended Radford College, Montgomery Community College and completed her degree in English at the University of Maryland in 1974.
After moving to New Jersey in 1988, she completed a degree in legal technology in 1990 and became employed as a paralegal with the law firm of Katz, Ettin, Levine and Kurzweil in Cherry Hill, N.J., until 1997.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Hodgson; a son, Michael Hodgson of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; her mother, Pauline Hunsberger of Midland; two brothers, Leon Hunsberger of Sumerduck, and Samuel Hunsberger of Amissville; and three half-sisters: Mary Webb of Colonial Beach, Jeannie Jacobs of Bealeton and Betty Hunsberger of Stafford.
A funeral service took place May 31 at Midland United Methodist Church. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Ollie Colvin

Ollie M. Colvin, 86, of Warrenton, died May 20, 1998, at her home.
Mrs. Colvin was born in Virginia on Sept. 27, 1911, the daughter of the late Frank and Bessie Meehan. She was a registered practical nurse at Fauquier Hospital for many years. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Warrenton and active in civic organizations. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Russell Colvin, and a brother, Frank Meehan.
She is survived by three brothers: Melvin Meehan of Broomall, Pa., John Meehan of Luray, and Rufus W. Meehan of Winchester; and two sisters, Nina Nichols of Winchester and Ethel Payne of Newtown Square, Pa.
The Rev. Larry Murphy led a funeral service May 23 at St. James Episcopal Church. Interment was in Warrenton Cemetery.
Lucille Anton

Lucille S. Anton, 87, of Falls Church died May 22, 1998, at her home.
Ms. Anton was born in Fauquier County on Nov. 10, 1910, the daughter of the late Vass Edward Strickler and Ethelinda Ann Strickler. She was a retired clerk with the federal government.
She is survived by her brother, Edward L. Strickler of Warrenton, and a devoted friend, Robert Deblin of Falls Church.
A graveside service took place May 27 at Warrenton Cemetery.

Dorothy Moore

Dorothy Cordelia Moore, 83, of Aldie died May 21, 1998, at her home.
Mrs. Moore was born in Virginia on Nov. 27, 1914, the daughter of the late Frank and Octavia Dennis. She was the widow of the late Lewis "Webb" Moore.
She is survived by four daughters: Betty J. Appling of Madison, Ala., Patricia Monger of Barboursville, Marjorie C. Moore and Hope M. Morison, both of Aldie; three sons: Russell W. Moore and Prew T. Moore, both of Warrenton, and Dennis J. Moore of Upperville; 16 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. J. Richard Winter led a funeral service May 23 at Warrenton Presbyterian Church. Interment was in Warrenton Cemetery.

Allan McDonald Sr.

Allan Raymond McDonald Sr., 82, of Fredericksburg died June 1, 1998, at his home.
Mr. McDonald was born in Cincinnati on Aug. 15, 1915, son of the late Elmer Charles McDonald and Mayme McDonald. He was a World War II veteran and retired from the CIA after 35 years of service. He was an avid world traveler and a wildlife enthusiast.
He is survived by his son, Allan R. McDonald Jr. of Midland; a daughter, Regina M. Saunders of Hampton; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Barbara Minter will lead a funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at Moser Funeral Home. Interment will be in Fairfax Memorial Park.

Ruth Hollar

Ruth L. Hollar, 93, of Warrenton died June 1, 1998, at Warrenton Overlook Care Center.
Mrs. Hollar was born in Olean, Mo., on June 28, 1904, the daughter of the late James Monroe Gilleland and Jenny Miller Gilleland. A former resident of Colorado, she was a longtime resident of Belleville, Mo., where she taught school for more than 20 years. She moved to Warrenton in 1989. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Hollar.
She is survived by a son, Don Hollar of Warrenton, and two grandsons.
A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, June 5, at David C. Brown Funeral Home in Belleville. Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Belleville.

Mattie Creel

Mattie Spitler Creel, 85, of The Plains died May 27, 1998, at Warrenton Overlook Care Center.
Miss Creel was born in Hopewell on Aug. 11, 1912, a daughter of the late Horace S. and Mary Griffith Creel. She was a store clerk for 25 years and worked for the Turner Oil Co. in The Plains for 10 years.
She is survived by two brothers, Elias E. Creel and Marvin M. Creel, both of The Plains.
The Rev. Jack Rudy led a funeral service May 30 at Royston Funeral Home in Marshall. Interment was in Marshall Cemetery.
