Reva Leach
Business owner
Reva Lewis Leach, 83, of Colonial Beach died July 6, 1998, at Potomac Hospital in Woodbridge.
Mrs. Leach was born in Marshall on Feb. 23, 1915, the daughter of the late W. Everett and Mary E. Glascock Lewis. She was a graduate of Marshall High School, class of 1933, and the owner and operator of a dry-cleaning business.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia A. McKee of Mount Jackson; a son, Paul A. Leach of Colonial Beach; eight grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean E. Swersky, in 1995.
The Rev. Sid Roden led a funeral service July 11 at Royston Funeral Home in Marshall.
Leo Cronan
Teacher
Leo Joseph Cronan, 91, of Wellesley, Mass., died July 5, 1998, at Oak Springs Comprehensive Care Facility in Warrenton.
Mr. Cronan was born in Haverhill, Mass., on Feb. 2, 1907, the son of the late Daniel and Elizabeth Gibney Cronan. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a school teacher and taught in the public and private sector.
He is survived by a daughter, Marcia Cronan of Marshall; and a granddaughter.
A funeral service will take place at a later date.
Theresa Miller
Nokesville musician
Theresa Payne Miller, 84, of Nokesville died July 14, 1998, at Prince William Hospital in Manassas.
Mrs. Miller was born in Nokesville on Feb. 28, 1914, the daughter of the late James Isaac and Edith Simpson Payne, who owned and managed a 300-acre dairy farm in Nokesville. She began her musical career playing the piano in the fifth grade and continued playing for more than 50 years. A member of the Nokesville Church of the Brethren, Mrs. Miller played for most church functions, including weddings, funerals and with the choir.
She recently won the 1998 Nokesville Senior Citizen of the Year Award.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Harry M. Miller Sr., who died in 1996.
She is survived by a son, Harry M. Miller Jr. of Nokesville; a sister, Elizabeth Payne Hale of Farnhum; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at Price Funeral Home in Manassas. Pastor Thomas L. Bowser and Pastor Warren E. Eshbach will lead a funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, July 17, at the Nokesville Church of the Brethren. Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery in Nokesville.

James "Jay" William Young, 19, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998, at Fauquier Hospital.
Mr. Young was born in Warrenton on Oct. 4, 1978.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce C. Young of Remington; his father, James Walter Young of Dumfries; two sons, James and Jared Young, both of Alabama; two sisters, Dawn Jernigan of Remington and Regina Gonzalez of Culpeper; his grandmother, Myrtle Hitt of Remington; and his stepfather, Allen Campbell of Remington.
The Rev. Peyton Embrey led a funeral service Sept. 2 at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. Interment was in Remington Cemetery.

Robert Blassic
Retired Navy commander
Robert S. Blassic, 72, of Bealeton died Aug. 29, 1998.
Mr. Blassic was born in Luzerne, Pa., on Jan. 22, 1926, the son of the late Jacob C. Blassic and Caroline Blassic. He joined the Navy in 1943, graduated from Brown University in 1947, and began active duty. He was a 30-year veteran of the Navy and retired from the Naval Audit Office in 1973. He then followed his lifelong love of aviation and taught flying for the next 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Kay B. Blassic of Bealeton; three sons: R. Chris Blassic of Mineral, David N. Blassic of Arlington and James F. Blassic of Richmond; a stepson, Jay W. Thomas of Warrenton; a stepdaughter, Catherine L. Thomas of Front Royal; three sisters, Delores Yakus, Jean Leandri and Carolyn Glaser, all of Luzerne, Pa., and a grandson.
A funeral service will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at the Marine Corp Memorial Chapel.

James Weaver
Excavator
James W. "Jimmy" Weaver, 49, of Hume died of cancer Aug. 21, 1998, at Fair Oaks Hospital.
Mr. Weaver was born in Gordonsville, a son of Peggy Good Johnson of Orange and the late Elyse James Weaver Jr. He served in the Army and was stationed in Germany and Vietnam. He was president of Weaver Excavation Inc. and a longtime resident of Hume. Mr. Weaver was employed by William A. Hazel Inc. for many years before starting his own excavation company.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a member of Ducks Unlimited and a founding member of "Mosby's Rangers Club."
He is survived by his wife, Sheilah Montgomery Weaver of Hume; two brothers, Randy Weaver of Culpeper and Johnny Weaver of Madison; a sister, Connie Harris of Orange, and two stepsons, Merv and Ian Marks of Hume.
A memorial service took place Aug. 25 at Leeds Episcopal Church in Hume.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross either in monetary custom or a unit of blood.

Raymonito Lee Jones of Bealeton died Aug. 28, 1998, at Fauquier Hospital.
He was born Aug. 20, 1998.
He is survived by his parents, Margaret and John Jones of Bealeton; a sister, Jameisa Jones of Bealeton; maternal grandmother Patty Carr of Maysville, W.Va.; paternal grandmother Mary Jones of Bealeton, and paternal grandfather Ernest Gibson of Bealeton.
The Rev. Andrew Fields led a graveside service Sept. 2 at St. James Baptist Church Cemetery in Bealeton.
Harry Rutherford
Castleton farmer
Harry Kackson Rutherford, 89, of Castleton died Sept. 1, 1998, at Oak Springs Nursing Home in Fauquier County.
Mr. Rutherford was born April 29, 1909, in Rappahannock County, a son of the late William Jackson Rutherford and Alice Cora Yancey Rutherford. He was a farmer and a member of Beach Springs Baptist Church for many years.
He is survived by his wife of many years, Esther Cora Dodson Rutherford; two daughters, Esther Rebecca Starner of Woodbridge, and Betty Lou Bruce of Luray; six sons: Bobby Jackson Rutherford, Jackie Thorene Rutherford, Donald Dunn Rutherford and Glenn William Rutherford, all of Rixeyville, Roger Lee Rutherford of Springfield and Joseph Louis Rutherford of Culpeper; a sister, Ella May Atkins of Front Royal; 13 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, seven sisters and a grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at Found and Sons Funeral Home, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. The Rev. Carl Menefee will lead a funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at Found and Sons Chapel. Interment will follow in Amissville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Marvin Jenkins

Marvin E. Jenkins, 77, of Arlington, died Aug. 28, 1998, at Arlington Hospital.
Mr. Jenkins was born Aug. 17, 1921, in Rappahannock County, the son of the late Elmer Thomas Jenkins and Claudia Jane Burke Jenkins. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy in which he served many years.
He is survived by three sisters: Pauline J. Latham of Viewtown, Audrey J. Jenkins and Peggy J. May, both of Culpeper. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rudy A. Jenkins.
The Rev. John S. Farrar will lead a funeral service Thursday, Sept. 3, at Found and Sons Chapel in Culpeper. Interment will be private.

Daniela Irene Wine of Marshall died Aug. 26, 1998 at Johns Hopkins University Medical Center in Baltimore.
She is survived by her parents, Jeffrey M. and France Wine of Marshall; paternal grandfather Doug Wine of Bridgewater; paternal grandmother, Darlene Carter Wine of Bayse; maternal grandparents Alexander H. and Francine ter Weele of Warrenton; maternal great-grandparents Albert and Simonne Grenade of Belgium; maternal great-grandmother Margery ter Weele of New Hampshire; and paternal great-grandparents Charles and Dorothy Wine of Marshall.
The Rev. Tuck Knupp led a funeral service Aug. 30 at Marshall United Methodist Church. Interment was in Marshall Cemetery.
