Broakes, Sir Nigel, 65, a prominent property developer who headed the property and construction conglomerate Trafalgar House, which owned London's Ritz Hotel and the Cunard shipping line, died Sept. 28 after a short illness.
Shoen, Leonard, 83, founder of U-Haul International Inc., the nation's largest truck rental company, died in a traffic accident Monday in Las Vegas, where he lived. With an initial investment of $5,000, Mr. Shoen founded U-Haul in 1945 to provide an inexpensive means of moving a post-World War II American population that had become migratory.
Turner, Francis, 90, a one-time federal highway administrator who advised President Eisenhower on the national interstate system and was considered its chief architect, died Oct 2.
