Higgins, George V., 59, the prosecutor-turned-novelist whose 1972
best seller "The Friends of Eddie Coyle," was made into a movie starring Robert Mitchum and Peter Boyle, was found dead, apparently of natural causes, Saturday at him home in Milton, Mass. He wrote 14 novels before the first one was published. Eventually, he published 25 novels. He drew his characters from the organized crime figures he prosecuted as a U.S. attorney.
