Alexander P. Goetz
Alexander Philip Goetz, 20, died Sunday, June 16, 2002, in Bach, Austria, while climbing the Sonnenkogel Mountain.
Alex’s accident has stunned his family and friends. As his absence becomes steadily more real, those who knew him well remember his nature was to be genuinely concerned for the feelings of those around him. He would do everything in his power to make it better for any friend who suffered. He would want us to remember his joy in the good things and that young men climb mountains.
He would want those who now grieve for him to be assured of his faith. Many heard him speak of his experiences that led to his commitment of faith in the Loving God, often in the joyful days of travel with his mother before the accident. Alex would want all to know he was prepared for the unexpected.
Alexander Philip Goetz was born Oct. 12, 1981, in Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro.

Goetz, and his stepmother, Jana Campbell, of Afton; his paternal grandmother, Claudine McHenry of Manhattan, N.Y.; his special cousin, Michelle and Jeff Banks, of Carrolton; and by his many friends in the Charlottesville area.
