Mitchell R. Clements
Mitchell R. Clements, a resident of Montgomery, Ala., died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, of complications following heart surgery.
He was born March 3, 1931, in Afton, the son of the late T.R. and Alma Clements.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Hampton Clements.
He is survived by three sons, Mitchell R. Jr., Mark and Teddy Clements, all of Alabama; one daughter, Pattie Clements of Chicago; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Shirley Giles and her husband, Ray, of Charlottesville, Dora Clements and her husband, Lem, of Afton.
He was a 20 year veteran of the A.S.A.F. having seen duty in Europe, the far east, and the U.S. After retiring from the military, he was the assistant manager of Super Foods on McGhee Road in Montgomery, Ala.
Visitation was held from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, with a graveside service immediately after the visitation in the Greenwood cemetery, with his son, the Rev. Mark Clements officiating.
Nancy A. Drysdale
A memorial service for Nancy A. Drysdale will be held at noon Friday at the Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Universalist Church, 717 Rugby Road. A reception will follow at the University of Virginia Art Museum in the Baily Building, 155 Rugby Road.
Polly R. Graham
Polly Rittenhouse Graham of Fort Belvoir, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, at the home of her daughter, Katherine Turner, in Alexandria.
Born Dec. 28, 1907, at "Glen Thorne, " Wintergreen, Nelson County, she was the eldest child of the late William Emmett Rittenhouse and Daisy Hughes Rittenhouse.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. Graham; a son Richard M. Graham; and two siblings.
During her early years, Mrs. Graham lived in Charlottesville and attended Saint Ann School.
She moved with her family to Washington, D.C., in the early 1920s where she graduated from Eastern High School. She was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church where she met her husband, Rev. Richard M. graham. They were married
in July 1926, by the late Rev. Dr. Ball. It was a union that lasted 68 years until Rev. Grahams Death in 1994.
During her husbands civilian ministry she accompanied him to pastorates in Madison, Taylorsville, and Manassas. During World War II, her husband served as a military chaplain. Air Force assignments led she and her family to stations throughout the south as well as Panama and Okinawa. She was an avid reader, gardener, cook and seamstress. She loved all of nature but was especially fond of cats.
Upon her retirement, she helped restore an old house in the valley where she had been born while her husband served as pastor of Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church of Faber. Years later they retired to Charlottesville. Upon her husbands death she moved to Alexandria and for the past six years she had at the Fiarfax Retirement Center of Fort Belvoir.
Polly is survived by her daughters, Katherine G. Turner and Martha G. Turner, both of Alexandria; one sibling, Cary Boyd Rittenhouse of Gaithersburg, Md.; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; as well as her cat, Boots.

Funeral services for Isaac Nixon "Sonny" King will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Preddy Funeral Chapel in Orange, with the Rev. Darnell Lundy officiating. Interment
will be held in Westview cemetery in Orange.
Elder H. Madison
Funeral services for Elder Hinman Strange Madison Sr., will be held at noon Friday at Orange Assembly of God Church in Orange, with interment in Culpeper National cemetery with full military honors. Elder Percy E. Hughes Jr. will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville.
Isaac P. Perkins
Mr. Isaac Paul Perkins, 94, of Charlottesville, died Dec. 28, 2002.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. at the Fork Union Memorial cemetery in Fork Union.

Marion D. Rhoads
Marion D. Rhoads, 81, of Charlottesville, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at a local nursing home.
Born Sept. 12, 1921, in West Palm Beach, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Howard C. and Helen Steele Douglas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Dillon Rhoads.
She is survived by a son, R. Douglas Rhoads of Charlottesville; a daughter, Marianne R. Fuehr of Centralia, Wash.; two brothers, Howard Douglas and William Douglas, both of West Palm Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Hill & Wood Chapel, with the Rev. Edward A. Hopkins officiating. Interment
will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens.

Molly Bell Sisk
Molly Bell Sisk, 82, of Madison, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at the Culpeper Regional Hospital.
Born Aug. 21, 1920, in Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Eddie Nicholson and Ina Smith Nicholson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Oscar Smith; and a daughter, Virginia Kathleen Nichols.
Mrs. Sisk was retired from Orange County Nursing Home and was a member of Madison Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Anna Jenkins and her husband James, and Linda Mae Nichols and her husband, James, all of Madison; a son-in-law, Clyde Nichols of Culpeper; two brothers, Winfrey Nicholson of Orange and Carlton Nicholson of Spotsylvania; two sisters, Maggie Nicholson of Madison, and Liza Brown of Culpeper; five grandchildren, Stephen Jenkins of Roanoke, Troy Jenkins, and Terry Jenkins, Both of Orange, Christina Marks of Culpeper, and Eddie Nichols of Madison; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with interment in Etlan cemetery. The Pastor Jeff Shifflett will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Eleanor K. "Polly" Spaar, 81, of Charlottesville, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at the Martha Jefferson Hospital.

Henry Louis Walker Sr., 79, of Charlottesville, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Friday at Oak Union Baptist Church, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, and at other times at 232 Hartman's Mill Road.

Bernard Woodson Sr.
Bernard "Lee" Woodson Sr., 69, of Schuyler, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Alma Woodson; two brothers; and one sister.
He is survived by six children, donna Proffitt and her husband, Frank of Cartersville, Alma Napier and her husband, Wilbur, Bernard L. Woodson Jr., and his wife, Virginia, Thomas Woodson and his wife, Sue, all of Scottsville, Wanda Floyd and her husband, Steve, of Concord, and Faith Hammer and her husband, Eric of Amherst; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one niece; and his very faithful dogs, Ben and Jake.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home, Scottsville, with Chaplain Ronald Baker officiating. Interment
will follow in Alberene cemetery, Alberene.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home.

Walter Chambers Jr.
Walter B. Chambers Jr., 22, of Rahway, N.J., departed this life Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, in Roselle, N.J.
Born Jan. 3, 1981, he was the son of Anna M. George Turner of Esmont, and the late Walter B. Chambers Sr.
He was educated in the Roselle Public School System and graduated from Abraham Clark High School, class of 1998. He was attending Capri Institute in Kenilworth.
Walter was employed as a customer service representative in the men's department of Macy's Department Store. He was a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church in Roselle, N.J., and also a member of the Sunday School, the Junior Usher Board and the Youth Department of the church.
In addition to his mother, he leaves to cherish his memories a stepfather, Gary B. Turner of Esmont; two sisters, Pamela J. Henderson and Megan O. Merine; a stepbrother, DeGary Turner; a stepsister, Cumi Turner; grandparents, Willie B. and Robert L. George; three uncles, Toby George, Roy George and James Chambers; three aunts, Barbara Manning, Edith Ayers and Diane Chambers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at noon Saturday at Spreading Oak Baptist Church in Arvonia. Interment
will be in the church cemetery.
Walter will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.

Margaret M. Clifton
Margaret M. Clifton, 76, of Columbia, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, in a Charlottesville Hospital.
Born May 13, 1926, in Augusta Spring, she was the wife of the late John Rodney Clifton.
She is survived by five sons, John P., Rodney J. and his wife, Linda, Phillip P. and his wife, Susan, Timothy L. and George F. Clifton; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Connie Huck. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Baptist Church cemetery, conducted by the Rev. William Bess.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Sheridan Funeral Home, Kents Store.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fluvanna County Fire Department or the Fluvanna County Rescue Squad.
Jacqueline D. Cody
Jacqueline Davis Cody, 86, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.
Mrs. Cody was the daughter of the late James L. and Elizabeth Crittenden Davis.
She was a public educator for many years having taught in Orange County. Her passion for teaching was shared only by her passion for world travel.
Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline C. Cody; and two sisters, Dorothy Mattocks and Frances Knight.
Services will be private.
