Helen D. Taylor, 75, of Stanardsville, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at her home in Stanardsville.

David E. Watson
David Edward Watson, 53, passed away Monday, March 15, 2004, at his home, in Charlottesville.
Born Nov. 1, 1950, in Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich., he was the son of Loren E. and Phyllis J. Watson. He was a dedicated father and is survived by his son, Aaron J. Watson.
He graduated from the University of Virginia with a Masters in Landscape Architecture. He loved to garden, and loved to share his skills with others.
David was an active troop leader with Boy Scout Troop 119. He loved to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with all interested Scouters.
A memorial service will be held in his honor at Aldersgate Methodist Church on Rio Road at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 19, 2004.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions to Boy Scout Troop 119, 1500 Rio Rd. E., Charlottesville, VA 22911.

Charles A. Wood Sr.
Charles A. Wood Sr., 86, of Bremo Bluff, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at his home.
Born Oct. 17, 1917, in Fluvanna County, he was a son of the late Finley B. and Nettie Glass Wood. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, and a son, Charles A. Wood Jr.
Charlie was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army in the Pacific Theatre and was a survivor of the Japaneese attack on Pearl Harbor. He was also the rural mail carrier in the Bremo Bluff and Fork Union areas for 46 years.
He is survived by a son, James C. Wood and his wife, Betty, of Charlottesville; a daughter, Jean W. Burnett and her husband, Brad, of Richmond; a daughter-in-law, marian Wood of Woodbridge; a brother, Henry E. Wood of New Canton; and two sisters, Sarah Rebecca Vines of Kents Store and Nettie Lillian Wood of Bremo Bluff.
A memorial funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Fork Union Baptist Church, Fork Union, Va. with interment in the church cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Fluvanna County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 96, Palmyra, VA 22963.

Irvin V. Brooks
Irvin Victor "Brooksie" Brooks, 97, of Charlottesville, went home to be with the Lord on March 14, 2004.
Born March 26, 1906, in Goochland County, he was the son of the late John H. Brooks and Amelia Haden Brooks. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Annie Cubbage, Virginia Brooks, Mae Kardas and Louise Hutchins; five brothers, Wirt, Wilbur, James, John and Edward; and his precious stepson, Wayne R. "Dickey" Smith.
Irvin was a retired meat cutter for 40 years in Charlottesville and was a member of First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 40 years, Helen S. Brooks; a sister, Jane B. Creasy of Richmond and sister-in-law, Helen P. DePriest of Charlottesville.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2004, at First Baptist Church on Park Street with Dr. Joel Jenkins officiating. Interment
will follow at Riverview cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Azlee K. Hickman
Azlee Keller Hickman died Saturday, March 13, 2004, in her home in Charlottesville, Va.
Born May 8, 1985, in Charlottesville, she leaves her parents, Henry B. Hickman of Charlottesville, Rena’ M. Petty Hickman Giesselman of Canton, Conn., and stepfather, David A. Giesselman. She was the stepdaughter of the late Sarah Joy Hickman.
She will be missed by her cherished daughter, Angel-Marie Sarah, her sister Emily Hickman, and her brothers, Jack and Christopher Giesselman. She leaves grandparents, Patricia Hickman Periolat and John Periolat, Billie Petty Wolfinger and The Rev. John Wolfinger; aunts, Keller Hickman Shinholser, Letitia Hickman Green, and Vanassa Petty Fultz; her uncles, Thomas Hickman and The Rev. Michael Petty, and 17 cousins.
Azlee Hickman was a wonderful and loving mother to her daughter, Angel-Marie. She was gifted with a talent for music, played the piano beautifully, and composed music as well. Her love for small children and animals was endearing. She was employed by CVS Pharmacy in Charlottesville.
Azlee attended The Covenant School and Monticello High School in Charlottesville. She also attended Canton High School in Canton. Azlee was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Charlottesville and Trinity Episcopal Church in Canton.
Azlee will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at the Teague Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2004.

Harold J. Lincks
Harold Joseph Lincks of Keswick, died Monday, March 15, 2004, in a local nursing home.
Born in New Jersey, he was the son of the late William Lincks and Ellen Smith Lincks.
Mr. Lincks retired as Controller of Ashland Chemical Company of Dublin, Ohio. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joan Lincks of Keswick; and his son, Kevin Peter Lincks and his wife, Joyce, of San Francisco, Calif.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2004, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Brian Mulcahy celebrating. Burial will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Hill & Wood Funeral Home.

Arlene H. Peebles
Arlene Harlow "Shorty" Peebles of Charlottesville, Va. passed away Monday, March 15, 2004, after a short battle with cancer.
Born March 21, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Bernice E. Harlow and Lula R. Johnson Harlow and was also preceded in death by her sister, Pearl Sandy Peebles of Charlottesville and her daughter, Brenda H. Wilkerson of Burkeville, Va.
"Shorty" was a member of First Baptist Church of Charlottesville and a member of the Detamore Class. She was a former employee of J.D. Wiley’s, a long time employee of Miller & Rhoads, Crestar Bank, and First Federal Saving’s and Loan in Charlottesville.
Surviving her are two sons, William D. "Billy" Peebles Jr. and his wife, Edna, of Troy, Va., and Robert A. "Bobby" Peebles and his wife, Linda, of Mechanicsville, Va.; four granddaughters, Trudy L. Peebles of Charlottesville, Dana R. Peebles of Luray, Va. Suzanne Peebles Trimble and her husband, Chris, of Richmond, and Elizabeth H. Peebles of Richmond; one great-grandson, Justin R. Trimble; and many other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2004, at Hill & Wood Funeral Home, with Dr. Joel P. Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Final disposition will be private.

Edward A. Plunkett Sr.
The Rev. Edward Adolphus Plunkett Sr., 84, of Swananoah Drive, passed away Monday, March 15, 2004.
Rev. Plunkett was born Jan. 11, 1920, in Lynchburg, the son of the late Robert McDearmon Plunkett and Jane Warren Lee Plunkett.
He attended Main Street United Methodist Church in Waynesboro and retired as a juvenile court probation counselor in Tappahanock, Va. He was a retired Methodist Minister serving various communities throughout Virginia including Charlottesville, Staunton, Norfolk, Arlington, and Chesapeake. He was an artist, pilot, self-taught computer programmer, and enjoyed woodworking. He featured his research on the history of Augusta County on his website www.agustahistory.org. He served on the Augusta County Library Board having developed the libraries first computer system.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Jane Plunkett and one great-grandson Marc Edward Loiseau.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Louise Harvill Plunkett of Waynesboro; two sons, Edward A. Plunkett Jr. and his wife, Charlene, of Waynesboro and Joseph L. Plunkett of Church Road, Va.; two daughters, Karen Thrasher Papa and her husband, Kenneth, of Perkasie, Penn., and Janet Warren Plunkett of the home; two brothers, Charles C. Plunkett of Southport, N.C., and Robert L. Plunkett of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; two sisters, Frances P. Harvey of Appomattox, Va. and Katie Beaver of Roanoke, Va.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Plunkett Loiseau of Burlington, Vt., Kathryn L. Plunkett of Jackson, Tenn., and Edward Leonard of Barstow, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Corinne and Shannon Loiseau.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday March 19, 2004, at Main St. United Methodist Church by the Rev. Gary Milstead. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service.

Beatrice A. Walls
Beatrice Grindle Atwood Walls, born in 1914 to the late Nathan Grindle of Blue Hill, Maine, and Georgia Varnum Grindle of Seal Harbor, Maine, passed away Monday, March 15, 2004.
Bea survived her first husband of 24 years, Francis J. Atwood of Seal Harbor, and Reginald Walls of 12 years, Otter Creek, Maine.
Bea, as she preferred to be called, was born in Seal Harbor, Maine, on March 4, 1914. She attended school at Northfield, Mass., and resided in Seal Harbor for 81 years. While residing in Seal Harbor, Bea raised her family, worked at the Miller Gardens, was a librarian for many years and postmistress for 13 years. Bea was also an active member of St. Mary’s-St. Jude’s Episcopal Church.
In 1999, Bea moved with her son’s family to Ruckersville, where she joined Grace Episcopal Church, Stanardsville.
Bea is survived by her two children, Joel T. Atwood of Ruckersville and Suzanne Atwood Burch of Central Falls, R.I. Additionally, she is survived by 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Bea had one goal and that was to celebrate her 90th birthday and then move on to a better place. Everyone who knew her will remember her sense of humor. She succeeded in this objective going to be with the Lord. May the Lord bless and keep her.

Margaret B. Jones
Margaret Bailey Jones, 88, of Orange, died Monday, March 15, 2004, at the Orange County Nursing Home.
She was born July 14, 1915, in Orange County. Her parents were the late Norman Calvin and Martha Garrett Bailey. She was a retired librarian at the Orange County Library and a member of Mitchell’s Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by one son, David Garrett Jones and his wife, Martha, of Middleburg, Conn.; four sisters, Dorothy Brockman of Orange, Bruce Radney of Orange, Jean Ristine and her husband, Robert, of Baltimore, Md., and Martha Slacum of Damascus, Md.; and a grandson, Michael David Jones of Middleburg, Conn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kirwan "Jack" Jones; a son, John Kirwan Jones II; and a daughter, Ann Maclay Jones.
