Aubrey Gibson
BASSETT - Aubrey Ford Gibson, 63, 450 Valley View Drive, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 1997, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, N.C.
Born May 11, 1934, in Callands, he was a son of Ford Gibson and Rosie Gibson.
He was married
to Evelyn Gibson, who survives.
He was a retired automobile mechanic, and was a member of Greenwood Church in Axton.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include five stepdaughters, Dora Belcher, Lucille Nowlin and Sherry Cox, all of Bassett, Ellen Trent of Spencer and Ramona Cannaday of Martinsville; a stepson, Larry Hagee of Bassett; three brothers, Ervin Gibson of Cascade, Robert Gibson of Danville and Neil Gibson of Rocky Mount; four sisters, Esse Bryant, Lizzie Kendrick, Vera Collins and Catherine Hopkins, all of Danville; and 24 stepgrandchildren.
He was predeceased by two stepsons, Ralph C. Hagee and Randolph A. Hagee; and four brothers, Lee Gibson, Edward Gibson, Russell Gibson and Lenwood Gibson.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Norris Funeral Services Chapel by the Rev. Mike Spencer. Burial will be in County Line Christian Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home, and other times at the residence of his stepdaughter, Dora Belcher, 76 Bryant Lane, Bassett.
Leroy Hall Sr.
HURT - Leroy Hall Sr., 57, 1121 Spaniel Road, died Sunday evening, Oct. 26, 1997, at his residence.
Born July 21, 1940, in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of Fred Gilbert and Catherine Hall, who survives.
He was married
to Dewilla Hall, who also survives.
Prior to his disability, he was employed by Dawson Construction Co., and was a member of Level Run Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother of Gretna and his wife of the residence, survivors include a son, Leroy Hall Jr. of the residence; a daughter, Marilyn Gilbert of the residence; seven brothers, Claude Stone, John Stone and Tom Stone, all of Gretna, Bobby Garvin and Shirley Stone, both of Hurt, George Stone of Java and James Stone of Danville; three sisters, Beatrice Farmer and Goldie Monroe, both of Gretna, and Patricia Farmer of Danville; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday at Level Run Baptist Church in Hurt by the Rev. H.E. Braxton. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church, and other times at the residence.

James Hall
James Burton Hall, formerly of 417 Third Ave., died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 1997, at Piney Forest Health Care.
Born Nov. 28, 1908, he was a son of William Thomas Hall and Emma Riddle Hall.
He was married
to Eva Doss Hall, who died Dec. 2, 1996.
He was retired from Pet Dairy Inc. and had worked for 43 years in the funeral home business.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of American Legion Post 325 and a former member of the Moose Lodge.
He was also a member of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, James T. Hall of Danville; a brother, Nolan Hall of Danville; two sisters, Irene Major and Lovey Burnett, both of Danville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday in Highland Burial Park by the Rev. Billy Scearce.
The family will receive friends at the residence of his granddaughter, 133 Greenwood Lane.

Ruby L. Sparks
NEWPORT NEWS - Mrs. Ruby Lamb Sparks, 87, died Monday, Oct. 27, 1997, in Newport News.
A native of Danville, she had been a Peninsula resident for 10 years.
Mrs. Sparks was a homemaker and a member of West Main Baptist Church in Danville.
She was also a member of the Wednesday Club and the Mary Summers Garden Club, both of Danville.
Mrs. Sparks was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Edward Sparks; her parents, William V. and Rebecca Burton Lamb; five sisters, Miss Dora E. Lamb, Mrs. Floyd B. Clapp, Mrs. W. Raymond Hogan, Mrs. Jerome L. Owens and Mrs. Thomas E. Drumwright; and two brothers, Freddie L. Lamb and Joseph W. Lamb.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Lamb Sparks Whittenburg and James Penn Whittenburg of Williamsburg; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Penn Whittenburg of Williamsburg and Catherine Anne Sparks Whittenburg of Alexandria.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday in Highland Burial Park, Danville.

Naomi Worley
DRY FORK - Naomi Collins Worley, 90, 1841 Dry Fork Road, died Tuesday morning, Oct. 28, 1997, in Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 23, 1907, in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of William "Camm" Collins and Eliza Elizabeth Mills Collins.
She was married
to Archie Whitt Worley, who predeceased her.
She was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
Survivors include two sons, John W. Worley of the residence and A. Wayne Worley of Reidsville, N.C.; three daughters, Mildred W. Martin of Dry Fork, Dorothy W. Hubbard of Chatham and Linda W. Turner of Danville; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Oakland United Methodist Church by the Rev. Louis Martin and the Rev. R. Fletcher Hardy III. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-9 tonight at the church, and other times at the residence.

Grace Bebeau
BEAUMONT, Texas - Grace Marie Bebeau, 67, 2495 Crestwood Drive, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 1997, at her residence.
She was a native of South Point, Ohio.
In 1953, she was married
to Dr. Russell Bebeau from Danville, Va.
She had nine children and 19 grandchildren.
A funeral mass was held at St. Anne's Catholic Church followed by burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park cemetery, Beaumont, Texas, on Oct. 22.
Delphia R. Bullock
HAMPTON - Delphia Reaves Bullock, 80, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 1997.
A native of Danville, she had been a Peninsula resident since 1954.
Mrs. Bullock was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a former member of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church in Danville.
Mrs. Bullock was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Bullock Sr., and her grandson, Kyle Bullock.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Shortridge of Georgia and Martha Finchem of Matthews; her son, William P. Bullock Jr. of Carrollton; her brother, Beverly W. Reaves of Danville; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday in Highland Burial Park in Danville by the Rev. Lee Ellison.

Mary Dora Earles
Mary Dora Pergerson Earles, 64, 2125 Lick Fork Creek Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 1997, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, N.C.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ruffin Stacey Baptist Church in Ruffin, N.C.
She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
A native of Rockingham County, N.C., she was a life-long member of Ruffin Stacey Baptist Church.
She retired from Vanier Graphics in Eden, N.C.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Terresia and Jim Scoble of Queensland, Australia, Dale and Jay Jones of Ruffin, Penny and Michael Ferguson of Eden; her grandson, Nicholas Chapmon of Eden; her mother, Annie M. Pergerson of Ruffin; and her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Marilyn Pergerson of Ruffin.
She is also survived by her best friend, Hank Hazelwood of Ruffin, her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Doug and Lorene Land of Reidsville, N.C., Magdalene Arrington of Elon College, N.C., and Shelby and Rogers Paschal of Reidsville, as well as many special nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Clayton Pergerson.
The family will receive friends at her home, 2125 Lick Fork Creek Road, Ruffin, on Friday from 7-9 p.m.

Margaret Ferguson
RINGGOLD - Margaret Luck Ferguson, 64, 2748 Kentuck Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 1997, at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born March 16, 1933, in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of Judge Luck and Katie Motley Luck.
She was married
to Amos L. Ferguson, who survives.
She was a life-long member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She was also a member of the Senior Usher Board, Missionary Society, Deaconess Board, Program Committee and Scholarship Committee.
For more than 20 years, she was employed by Richmond Cedar Works.
In addition to her husband of Ringgold, survivors include three sons, Richard G. Ferguson of Danville, Kenneth R. Ferguson of Medira, Maine, and Donald R. Ferguson of Richmond; a daughter, Sharon M. Ferguson of Glenarden, Md.; six sisters, Dorothy Wilson and Geneva Osborne, both of Philadelphia, Captolia Fallen of Danville, Louise Wilson of Queen Village, N.Y., Mildred Ferguson Ringgold and Elsie Davis of Phoenix; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday at Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. Thomas Johnson Sr. Interment
will be in Highland Burial Park.
The family will receive friends 6-9 tonight at the residence.
