Donald Harris
DRY FORK - Donald Wayne Harris, 38, 14136 Franklin Turnpike, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 1997, at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 26, 1959, in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of Sam Harris and Nannie Morton Harris.
He was married
to Carolyn Adkins Harris, who survives.
He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include a daughter, Donna Adkins Harris of the residence; two brothers, Michael Harris of Chatham and Raymond Harris of Washington, D.C.; six sisters, Patricia Harris of Danville, Vera Jones of Callands, Odessa Gill of Martinsville, Queenie Womack of Chatham, Kitty Kelly of Rockville, Md., and Josie Myers of Washington, D.C.
The funeral will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church by the Rev. Robert Deering. Burial will be held in Schoolfield Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.

Marie Main
Marie Hardy Main, 56, 860 Mill Creek Road, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 1997, at Danville Regional Medical Center following a two day stay in the hospital.
Born Nov. 4, 1940, in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of William Eddie Hardy and Lessie Mae McKinney Hardy.
On April 8, 1966, she was married
to Fred A. Main, who survives.
She was of the Baptist faith, and lived most of her life in Pittsylvania County.
She worked at Value City as a sales associate.
In addition to her husband of the residence, survivors include a son, Kenneth L. Main of Dry Fork; a daughter, Shirley H. Evans of Safford, Ariz; a grandson, Joshua Wilborne of Dry Fork; and a granddaughter, Jessica Wilborne of Dry Fork.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete with Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Home, North Main Chapel.
The family will receive friends at the residence of her son, Kenneth L. Main, 685 Tunstall High Road, Dry Fork.
Dorothy McCoy
EVERETT, Wash. - Dorothy Worsham McCoy, 74, of 932 Hoyt St., died Saturday, Aug. 9, 1997, at her residence after a two year decline in health.
Born May 20, 1923, in Pittsylvania County, Va., she was the daughter of Zebedee Worsham Sr. and Lottie Shelton Worsham.
She was married
to Robert McCoy, who survives.
In addition to her husband of the residence, survivors include a son, Robert McCoy II of Everett; two sisters, Pearline W. Shelton of Danville and Hilda W. Parker of Danville; three brothers, Martin Worsham of Danville, Earl Worsham of Dry Fork and Chief Master Sgt. Zebedee Worsham Jr. (U.S. Air Force, retired) of Hampton; and two grandsons.
She was predeceased by a brother, Odell Worsham.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at Open Bible Baptist Church by the Rev. Dean Lamphere.
Carroll McGregor
Ralph Carroll McGregor, 47, 220 Sharon Lane, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 1997, at his residence.
Born Aug. 21, 1949, in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of Arthur Thomas McGregor and Doris Jones McGregor Steele, who survives.
He was married
to Judy Moore McGregor, who survives.
He was a member of Shermont Baptist Church, American Legion Memorial Post No. 325, Elks Club and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 19.
Until his disability retirement, he was employed as lead HVAC mechanic at Danville Regional Medical Center.
In addition to his wife of the residence and his mother of Danville, survivors include two daughters, Len McGregor and Christy McGregor, both of Burlington, N.C.; a son, Max McGregor of the residence; a sister, Joan Blalock of Danville; a half sister, Angie Conner of Danville; two half brothers, Jeff McGregor and Tim McGregor, both of Danville; a stepfather, Bobby Gene Steele; and a granddaughter.
He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Wayne McGregor.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at Shermont Baptist Church by the Rev. Bill Soyars and the Rev. Gilmore Hundley. Interment
will be held in Highland Burial Park, where military honors will be performed by American Legion Memorial Post No. 325.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 tonight at Barker Funeral Home Chapel, and other times at the residence.
The Rev. Thomas Ninnis
The Rev. Thomas George J. Ninnis, 67, of 907 Colquhoun St., died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 1997, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
He was born Jan. 17, 1930, in Serifos Cyclades, Greece.
He was the priest of Saint Peters Greek Orthodox for 17 years, and had served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a brother, Savos Ninnis of Greece; and a sister, Margarita Chryssolora of Greece.
A divine liturgy will be conducted at 9 a.m. Monday followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Peters Greek Orthodox Church by the Rev. Nicholas Spirakis, the Rev. Nicholas G. Bacalis, the Rev. George Chioros and the Rev. John Panagiotou.
Burial will be held in Mountain View cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday with a 7:30 p.m. trisagion service at the church.

Benjamin Wilson Sr.
Benjamin S. Wilson Sr., 81, 9950 Mt. Cross Road, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 1997, at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 17, 1915, in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of Benjamin Wilson and Kate Walton Wilson.
He was married
to Myrtle Graves Wilson, who survives.
He was a farmer.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include three sons, Homer Wilson of the residence and John Wayne Wilson and Odell Wilson, both of Danville; three daughters, Shirley Clark of Danville and Catherine Peatross and Odessa Martin, both of Cascade; two sisters, Lucinda Williams and Helen Peatross, both of Cascade; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral wil be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at Cunningham & Hughes Memorial Chapel by the Rev. John Tinsley. Burial will be held in the Wilson Family cemetery in Cascade.
The remains mey be viewed 4-8 today at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends at the Clark residence on Mount Cross Road.
Melba Brummitt
Melba Jean Lewis Brummitt, 600 Main St., Apt. 509, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 1997, at her residence.
Born in Danville, she was a daughter of Edward Randolf Lewis and Nina Ethel Stewart Lewis.
She was a member of Christians United Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Janice Marie Ashby of Schroon, N.Y., and Evelyn Fox of Boca Raton, Fla.; and a brother, William R. Lewis of Danville.
Friends are invited to the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday at Christians United Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Hill. Visitations will be before the service and preceding the 2 p.m. funeral service.
Interment will be held in Highland Burial Park.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 tonight at the residence of her brother, 291 Luna Lake Road.

Catherine Cline
CHATHAM - Catherine Sykes Cline, 80, died Friday, Aug. 15, 1997, in Gretna Health Care Center.
Born Oct. 8, 1916, in Norristown, Pa., she was the daughter of Harry Sykes and Bess Oberholtzer Sykes.
She was married
to Joseph F. Cline, who predeceased her.
She was a member of Watson Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Harry S. Cline of Clearwater, Fla., and Rick Cline of Chatham; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Hillcrest Burial Park by the Rev. William C. Thomas.
The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Sunday at Scott Funeral Home, and other times at the residence of her son, Rick Cline, Cherrystone Creek Road.
Robert Fitzgerald
Robert Lee Fitzgerald, 82, 895 Pine St., died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 1997, at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born April 20, 1915, in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of George Warner Fitzgerald and Carrie Price Fitzgerald.
He was a former employee of Dan River, Inc.
Survivors include three daughters, Gertrude Turner, Juanita Cherry and Dorothy Jones, all of Atlantic City, N.J.; a son, Robert L. Fitzgerald of Cherry Hill, N.J.; two sisters, Katherine Holt and Bessie Bailey, both of Danville; 13 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. today at Mill Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Anthony Noble. Burial will be held at Cunningham and Hughes cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence of his sister, Bessie Bailey, 1849 Mill Creek Road.
