Margaret Hodnett
A graveside service for Margaret Wilson Hodnett, 87, will be conducted 11 a.m. today in Mt. View cemetery by the Rev. Paul M. Ray.
She died Monday, June 16, 1997, in Roman Eagle Memorial Home, where she had been a patient since April.
Born Aug. 4, 1909, in Danville, she was a daughter of William Wilson and Sue Yeatts Wilson.
She was married
to Luther G. Hodnett, who died March 24, 1995.
She spent most of her life in Danville, where she was a homemaker.
She had been a patient at Blue Ridge Nursing Home in Martinsville for two years before entering Roman Eagle Memorial Home.
She was a member of Longview Friends Church.
She is survived by a brother, Bruce Wilson of Danville; and a sister, Mary Sue Hodnett of Danville.

Katie Hooper
Katie Ensley Hooper, 90, formerly of 46 Milton Ave., died Tuesday, June 17, 1997, in Roman Eagle Memorial Home, where she had been a patient for two months. She had been in declining health for the past four years.
Born Oct. 4, 1906, in Columbus, Ga., she was a daughter of Harley Fletcher Easley and Mary Sue Manley Ensley.
She was married
to Herman Hooper, who died Sept. 22, 1993.
She spent most of her life in Danville, where she was a homemaker.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Sue Hooper Kidd and Betty Ann Hooper, both of Danville; two brothers, Lawrence Ensley of Greensboro, N.C., and Fletcher Ensley of Winston-Salem, N.C.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday in Schoolfield cemetery by the Rev. W. Cleo Hunley.
The family will receive friends at the home of a daughter, Karen Sue Hooper Kidd, 788 Martin Road, Danville.

Andrew Hopkins
The funeral for Andrew Thomas Hopkins, 77, will be conducted 2 p.m. today from Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel by Ruth Warren. Interment
will be in Highland Burial Park.
He died Monday, June 16, 1997, in Roman Eagle Memorial Home, where he had been a patient since 1978.
Born July 21, 1919, in Danville, he was a son of John W. Hopkins and Henritta Morrison Hopkins.
He spent most of his life in Danville, where he worked as a pianist and vocalist with evangelist ministers.
During World War II, he was employed by the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
He was a member of Schoolfield Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He is survived by a brother, W. Paul Hopkins of Greenville, S.C.; and a sister, Pearl H. Lane of Danville.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Bernice H. Arthur, Hallie H. Hayes and Katherine H. Hopkins; and two brothers, Russell Hopkins and Otis Hopkins.
The family will receive friends at the home of his nephew, Ray Hayes, 1316 College Park Drive.
Audrey Lamb
Audrey Bivens Lamb, 86, 1652 Leemont Court, died Monday, June 16, 1997, in Stratford Health Care Center, following five months of declining health.
Born Feb. 6, 1911, in Danville, she was a daughter of Eugene M. Bivens and Gadie Newman Bivens.
On Dec. 6, 1930, she was married
to Joseph Wiseman Lamb, who died April 19, 1974.
She lived all of her life in Danville, where she was a homemaker. She had been a resident at Stratford Health Care Center for three months.
She was a member of Grace Design United Methodist Church, where she served as a choir member.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Gay Lamb Murphy and Russell W. Murphy of Danville; a brother, Clinton Bivens of Danville; three sisters, Doris B. Coleman of Danville, Nona B. Smith of Burlington, N.C., and Gladys B. Sides of Salisbury, N.C.; a grandson and his wife, Michael B. and Rebecca L. Elliott; and a great-granddaughter, Ashleigh N. Elliott.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Dennis C. Elliott, and two sisters, Euna B. Elliott and Irma B. Alderson.
A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday in Highland Burial Park by the Rev. William C. Taylor.
The family will receive friends at the residence.

James Puckett
RINGGOLD - James Riley Puckett, 68, 648 Ringgold Depot Road, died Tuesday, June 17, 1997, in his residence, following two years of declining health.
Born July 12, 1928, in Keeling, he was a son of John Henry Puckett and Ethel Emily Covington.
On Aug. 15, 1953, he was married
to Nancy Ann Hammack Puckett, who survives.
He spent most of his life in Keeling and Ringgold.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Corning Glass Inc. as an electrician.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
He was of the Protestant faith.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include three daughters, Meryl P. Wood and Cheryl P. Kendrick, both of Danville; a son, Dennis B. Puckett of Orlando, Fla.; four sisters, Lucy P. Hunicutt of Durham, N.C., Lillie P. Terry and Zena P. Frederick, both of Danville, and Cecil P. Dean of Greensboro, N.C.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday from Ringgold Baptist Church by the Rev. Carl E. Burger.
The family will receive friends at the residence.

Charlie Redd Sr.
Charlie Nelson Redd Sr., 73, 324 North Ridge St., died Friday, June 13, 1997, in Danville Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 3, 1924, in Martinsville.
He was married
to Lottie Jones Redd, who survives.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include a son, Charlie Redd Jr. of the residence; a daughter, Pam McCurly of Washington, D.C.; a brother, Samuel Redd of Martinsville; and two sisters, Lucy Dixon of Los Angeles and Elnora Craghead of Martinsville.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday from Fisher & Watkins Funeral Home Chapel by Elder John Williams. Interment
will be in Highland Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
Charlotte Reynolds
Mrs. Charlotte Tanner Reynolds, 327 West Main St., died Monday morning, June 16, 1997, at her residence, after a decline in health for several years.
Born on July 16, 1927, in Danville, she was a daughter of Alvin M. Tanner and Eva Gilley Tanner.
Mrs. Reynolds was a life-long resident of Danville, where she attended the public schools and was a graduate of Stratford Hall.
She was a member of West Main Baptist Church.
On Oct. 15, 1949, she married
Paul D. Reynolds Jr., who survives of the home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Paul D. Reynolds III and his wife, Lynn, of Raleigh, N.C., and David S. Reynolds and his wife, Mitzi, of Richmond; a daughter, Paula R. Haynes and her husband, Mike, of Danville; and two grandchildren, Paul D. Reynolds IV and Mary Margaret Reynolds, both of Raleigh, N.C.
Graveside services will be held today at 11 a.m. from Mountain View cemetery by the Rev. Bruce Wilson.
Townes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, and the family will receive friends at the residence, 327 West Main St..

Sadie Jones
Sadie Jones, 78, 1220 Forest St., died Tuesday, June 17, 1997, in Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born July 9, 1918, in Caswell County, N.C., she was a daughter of Dan and Jennie Bett Foster Jones.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Danville Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of Blackwell Baptist Church of Yanceyville, N.C.
Survivors include two daughters, Lola M. Brown of Blairs and Doretha Jones of Danville; four sisters, Alice Gwynn of Ruffin, N.C., Hallie Willis of Hampton, and Betty Brown and Madie Jones, both of Yanceyville; a brother, George Norman Jones of Philadelphia; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday from Blackwell Baptist Church by the Rev. Everett Dickerson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
