Mollie Ethel Fincham, 95, of Culpeper, Virginia passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. Mollie was born March 9, 1909 in Rappahannock County, Virginia to the late James Oscar Fincham and Myrtle Wharton Fincham and was the widow of Walter Burgess Fincham, Sr.
Mrs. Fincham was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church. Mollie enjoyed gardening.
Surviving Mollie are her children, Walter Burgess Fincham, Jr. and his wife Isabelle of Catlett, Jack Fincham of Culpeper, Louise Frazier and her husband Lewis of Culpeper and Ruth Roberts and her husband Kenneth of Madison. Also surviving are her brother Silas Bundick Fincham of Winchester, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Earl Winfrey Fincham preceded his mother in death.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July, 10, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Clore-English Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Fairview Cemetery. Rev. Sandy Martin will conduct the service. The family will receive friends Friday, July 9, 2004 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Clore-English Funeral Home.

THRALL, Leonard H.

Leonard Harlow Thrall, 93 , formerly of Manassas, Va, passed away at Ruxton of Woodbridge on July 24, 2004. He was born to the late Robert Gentry Thrall and the late Mary Harlow Thrall on June 30, 1911 in Reva, Virginia. He was married to the late Anita Smith Thrall.
Mr. Thrall served in the US Army during World War II and later worked at VDOT as a superintendent of maintenance.
Survivors include his daughter Joan Coates of Culpeper, his son James Thrall of Locust Grove, a niece Linda Morgan of Fairmont, W.Va.,a sister-in-law Gladys Bawkey of Manassas, Va., eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at the Clore-English Funeral Chapel Home on Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 330 and V.F.W. Post 2524 Honor Guards. Rev. Charles Bawkey will conduct the service. The Clore-English Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
HOLMES, Arnold C.

A.C. “Chris” Holmes, age 63, owner of Holmes Equipment Company and a dealer for Allis Chalmers tractors for 35 years passed away at his residence on August 2, 2004. He was born on December 29,1940 to the late Arnold C. Holmes, Sr. and the late Olive McConchie Holmes. Surviving Mr. Holmes is his sister Marlene H. Peyton and her husband Ronnie of Fredericksburg, VA and his niece Evelyn Peyton of Fredericksburg, VA.
Chris was a charter member of the Sumerduck Ruritan Club and has held offices in the local, district, and zone of Ruritan. During his 40 years service in the Ruritan, he was actively recruiting members. He was community spirited and provided the grounds for the community baseball field. Mr. Holmes enjoyed life and it’s humorous moments. He was always willing to provide service to others without regard to himself. He especially enjoyed offering opportunities to the young people. He was a life long resident of Sumerduck.
Funeral services will be held Thursday August 5, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sumerduck Baptist Church with interment in the Sumerduck Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Shaw Henson, Pastor Jim Stone and Pastor Lee Brown will conduct the service. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 p.m. at the Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, VA. Lucy Margaret Kilby, 91, of Clinton, Maryland passed away Monday August 2, 2004 at Southern Maryland Hospital, Clinton, Maryland. She was born to the late William R. Brown and the late Lucy Margaret Walter Brown on October 22,1912 in Culpeper, Virginia. She was married to the late Henry C. Kilby, Sr. Mrs. Kilby worked for Hecht’s for many years.
Her family includes her son, Henry C. Kilby, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Pomfret, Maryland, grandchildren, Rick Seibert, Eric Kilby and his wife Patricia, Clay Burton, Robert Burton and her great-grandchildren Barbara and Xavier Kilby. Her brothers Eddie Brown, Raymond Brown, Stanley Brown, Thomas Brown and her sisters Elizabeth Brown, Kathleen Yates and Lillian Belcher, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Mary Louise Kilby.
Funeral services will be held in the Clore-English Funeral Home Chapel, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, on Friday August 6, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Rev. Walter Cecil Moxley, 79, of Culpeper, Virginia passed away Friday, July 9, 2004 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. Mr. Moxley was born May 6,1925 in Princeton, West Virginia to the late Walter C. Moxley, Sr. and Mary Isabelle Goad Moxley. Walter is survived by his wife, Hilda J. Moxley of Culpeper.
Mr. Moxley was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired with 20 years service as a building engineer for Fairfax County Schools. Walter was a member of the Arlington Centennial Masonic Lodge # 81.
Also surviving Walter are his daughter Sonja Russell and her husband John of Culpeper, his son Larry Moxley and his wife Donna of Bowie Texas, his granddaughters Erin Russell of Hampton, Virginia, Lauren Russell of Culpeper,
grandsons Gene Moxley, Gary Moxley, Lannie Moxley and James Moxley all of Bowie, Texas.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2004, 11:00 a.m. at Clore-English Funeral Chapel, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper. Pastor Bernie Jernigan will conduct the service.
Entombment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, Virginia. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, July 13, 2004, 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Clore-English Funeral Home.

George William Allen, 91 of Lake of the Woods, Virginia, formally of Remington passed away Saturday, July 10, 2004 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. Mr. Allen was born August 30, 1912 in New Jersey to the late George William Allen, Sr. and Anna Hardenburg Allen. George was married for seventy years to Dorothy Ruple Allen of Lake of the Woods. Mr. Allen retired from dairy and beef cattle farming.
Also surviving Mr. Allen are four daughters, Mildred “ Millie “ A. Lane and her husband Ted of Lake of the Woods, Barbara “ Bonnie “ A. Marvin of Richmond, Judy Allen of Casanova, Linda A. Robeson and her husband Stuart of Warrenton, one grandson, Rick Lane and his wife Carolyn, one granddaughter, Terrie Lane Noordanus and her husband Hans, one great-grandson, Cody Allen Lane, two step-great grandchildren Michael Bailey and Katie Robeson and two sisters, Dorothy Alles Carberry of Flemington, New Jersey and Evelyn Faherty of Yardley, Pennsylvania
