Cornelia Susan “Connie” Grimsley, 81, of Culpeper, Virginia passed away at the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community on Saturday January 17, 2004. She was born to the late Emmett Knighton and Ellie Yager Knighton on August 21,1922 in Somerset, Virginia.
Mrs. Grimsley is survived by her husband of 61 years T. Edwin Grimsley. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
She was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, the Culpeper Humane Society, the Culpeper Historical Society, Pi Kappa Signa Sorority, Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, N.S.D.A.R., Thomas, Lord Culpeper Chapter Colonial Dames XVII Century, and the Farmington Country Club.Mrs. Grimsley graduated from Maury High School in Norfolk, Virginia and Longwood College. She attended the College of William and Mary.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday January 20, 2004 at 2:00 pm in St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church with interment in Fairview Cemetery.
Rev. Michael Gray and Rev John S. Farrar will officiate. Pallbearers will be Marshall E. Jenkins, Pres Puliam, Dr. Thomas Armstrong, Harold Inskeep, Harvey Huffman, Roderick Knighton, William “Red” Jenkins, and Wayne Diehl. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 at the Clore-English Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the Culpeper Humane Society, P.O. Mr. Henry M. Hart, 95, of Culpeper, VA passed away at his residence on January 16,2004. Mr. Hart was born in Ashland, KY in 1908.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Hazel W. Hart, two daughters Patricia Hart Hudson, and Phyllis Hart Martin, a brother, Paul Hart of CA, grandchildren, Norman Blake Martin of Bedford, VA, his wife Diana, and children Alexander Blake Martin and Harrison Hart Martin, Anthony Hart Martin of Auburn, AL, his wife Mary Helen and children Macon Hudson Martin and Madison Nix Martin, Kimberly Ann Martin of Alexandria, VA, Patricia Martin Bunch of Hood River, OR, her daughter Payton Kimberly Bunch, Thomas Gregory Martin of Columbia, TN, his wife, Kristi, and children Thomas Young Martin, Cramer Hart Martin and Susan Leigh Martin, of Culpeper, VA., and a nephew Robert Hart of KY. Katherine Jean Martin predeceased her grandfather.
In 1952, Mr. Hart with his brother-in-law, Jay Waggoner, started Rental Uniform Service in Roanoke, VA and later Mr. Hart extended the business to Culpeper, VA in 1960. He stayed with RUS until his retirement in 1977.
There will be a service for Mr. Hart, Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at 11:00 am at the Clore-English Funeral Home with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Dr. R. Wayne Bernardo will officiate. The family will receive friends thirty minutes before service time. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Clore-English Funeral Home.
WILLIS, John M.

John Morris Willis, 87, of Culpeper passed away on Saturday January 17, 2004 at the Culpeper Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.He was born on February 18,1916 to the late Hugh H. Willis and the late Nell Morris Willis. Mr. Willis was a retired dairy farmer in Culpeper and he raised tomatoes. He was a member of the Culpeper Baptist Church and the Host Lions Club. Mr. Willis is a former member of the board of directors of the Culpeper Farmer’s Co-op and a former board member of the Select Sires.
Mr. Willis is survived by his wife of 56 years Louise Willey Willis of Culpeper, VA, his children Elizabeth “Betty” Katt of Encinitas, CA, John Morris Willis, Jr. of Culpeper, VA, Louise W. Phelix of Lake Caroline, VA, and James Willis of Culpeper, VA, a brother Dr. Hugh H. Willis, Jr. of Chatham, VA and two sisters Dr. Betty Willis Whitehead of Chatham, VA and Alice Willis Mease of Pittsburg, PA. His grandchildren are Jake Phelix, Tommy Phelix and Andrew Willis. A sister, Cornelia, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at the Culpeper Baptist Church, Wednesday January 21,2004 at 2:00 pm with Dr. Ted Fuson and Rev. John S. Farrar officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 pm at the Clore-English Funeral Home, who has been entrusted with arrangements.
TRUMBULL, Robert

Robert G. Trumbull Jr., 83, beloved husband of Rhoda Franklin Trumbull; loving father of Robert G. Trumbull III and Gay T. Porter; cherished grandfather of Alexander E. Trumbull, Steven L. Porter and Mark R. Porter, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004.
Services will be held at the Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway (Route 29) Culpeper, on Saturday Jan. 17. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the Memorial Service will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for contributions to be made to the Culpeper United Methodist Church, 1233 Oaklawn Drive, Culpeper, VA 22701-3331.
Mr. Trumbull had a 30-year career at the Central Intelligence Agency with his last assignment serving on the Committee for Exchanges (COMEX). Upon his retirement he was awarded the Career Intelligence Medal and the National Intelligence Medal of Achievement from Frank Carlucci, then Deputy Director.
Early in his career he accepted a rotational position in Hawaii from 1964-1967. His outstanding analytical performance was rewarded with a 90-day round-the-world tour focusing on the Far East in preparation for his next assignment.
He also served for over 15 years in the Washington Watch Office producing daily intelligence reports and responding to questions from the White House.
A U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, Mr. Trumbull served in Europe from 1943-1946 and was a medical company commander when he separated from active duty. He graduated from George Washington University with a B.A. and one year of graduate studies in Economics in 1950.
He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on Jan. 10, 1921. His family moved to Rhode Island in 1934 and then on to California in 1935 for four years. He attended Rhode Island State for two years prior to being drafted by the U.S. Army in 1942. Mr. Trumbull was married in 1944 and settled in Washington, D.C. in 1946. The family moved to Hawaii in 1964 returning to Vienna, and Lakevale Estates in 1967 for 12 years prior to 17 years of glorious retirement at the River Hills Plantation, Lake Wylie, South Carolina.
They moved to the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community in 1996 to be closer to their children.
The family feels indebted to the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community for the loving care that they provided to their wonderful father.

Mrs. Kathleen V. LeSueur, 81, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at The Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community, Culpeper, Virginia. She was born in Boonville, North Carolina on November
14, 1922 to the late James Elbert Vestal and the late Lora Pearl Douglas Vestal.
She is survived by her daughter, Eleanor L. Green and her husband Dr. Terry Green of Richmond, Virginia, two grandsons, Brent D. Green of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Joe B. LeSueur of Culpeper, Virginia. Also surviving are her sisters, Earline Matthews of East Bend, North Carolina,
Vonnie Hicks of Boonville, North Carolina, a step-sister, I. Jean Keller of Advance, North Carolina and a step-brother, T. Howard Vestal of Hesperia, California.
Mrs. LeSueur was prededed in death by her husband of 44 years, Rev. F. Bernard LeSueur and her son, F. Bernard LeSueur, Jr.
Mrs. LeSueur was a member of Culpeper Baptist Church, a long time resident of Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community and the former librarian of Culpeper County High School.
Interment will be held, Friday, January 30, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Cedar Baptist Church Cemetery,
Dillwyn, Virginia.
There will be a memorial service, Friday, January 30, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Culpeper Baptist Church, 318 S. West Street, Culpeper, Virginia. The family will receive friends
immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.
Dr. Ted Fuson and Dr. Terry Green will conduct the services for Mrs. LeSueur.

Mrs. Adelaide Christine Logemann, 93, formally of Culpeper, passed away, Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Charlottesville, Virginia. Her husband was the late Ernest Victor Logemann.
She is survived by her two daughters, Diane Rose of Gainesville, Virginia, Mary Frances Huffman of Freeland, Pennsylvania and a son Ernest Victor Logemann of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren.
Mrs. Logemann was born in Virginia on November 29, 1910 and was a homemaker.
There will be a funeral service on Saturday, January 31, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Clore-English Funeral Home Chapel, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, Virginia, Rev. Marvin C. Cook will conduct the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to time of service. Interment will be private.
