Phillip Wilkins
Phillip Jerry Wilkins, 56, 860 Eagle Springs Road, died Thursday, March 6, 1997, in his residence.
Born May 30, 1940, in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of Ernest Wilkins and Ella Wilkins, who survives.
He was married
to Mary E. Hood Wilkins, who survives.
He was a member of the U.S. Air Force for 12 years, retiring as staff sergeant in 1974.
He was also a member of East New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife and mother, both of Danville, survivors include six stepdaughters, Charlotte Beard, Margaret Bass, Darlene Glass, Jacqueline Saunders, and Sharon Beard, all of Danville, and Carolyn Glass of Hartford, Conn.; a son, Ronnie Glass of Danville; two brothers, Thomas Wilkins of Danville and George Wilkins of Philadelphia; 21 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday from Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. James Stewart. Interment
will be in Highland Burial Park, where full military honors will be given by American Legion Memorial Post No. 325 Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
Everett Wilson
Everett T. Wilson, 67, 167 Kimberly Ave., died Friday, March 7, 1997, in Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born July 25, 1929, in Stanleytown, he was a son of Doc Thomas Wilson and Ethel Wiggington Wilson, who survives.
On May 15, 1951, he was married
to Gail Abbott Wilson, who survives.
He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force.
He spent most of his adult life in Danville, where he was a retired air traffic control specialist. At the time of his death, he was working part-time in the tower at Danville Regional Airport.
In addition to his mother of Danville and his wife of the residence, survivors include three sons, Steven Thomas Wilson of Danville, Gary Wayne Wilson of Lynchburg, and David Neil Wilson of Greensboro, N.C.; two sisters, Elaine W. Main of Danville and Margaret W. Lindsey of Richmond; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday in Danville Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Dorothy Thomas.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at Swicegood Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
Eloise Bragg
Eloise Evans Bragg, 83, of 231 S. Ridge St., Apt. A-09, died Friday, March 7, 1997, in Roman Eagle Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 13, 1914, in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of Isaac A. Evans and Virginia Dodson Evans. She was predeceased by her sister, Regina E. Belton.
Her earlier life was spent in Florida, where she lived for 32 years. She worked as a salesperson for W.T. Grant Co. and was a member of Grace Design United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Edna Evans of Charlottesville and Lettie E. Rodenhizer of Charlottesville; a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted 4 p.m. Monday in Highland Burial Park by the Rev. William Taylor.

Edward Campbell
Edward O. Campbell, 87, of West Palm Beach, Fla., died Sunday, Feb. 23, 1997.
He was born Aug. 26, 1909, in Tyrone, Pa.
He lived in Tyrone and moved to Florida in 1978. He was a musician with the Fred Waring organization, the Myer Davis organization and others.
He was married
to Wilma Campbell of the residence.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Alan Campbell of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; a brother, Richard Campbell of Danville, Va.; and three grandchildren.
The funeral was held 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 1997, at Royal Palm Beach Funeral Home by the Rev. Wayne Padgett with burial in Royal Palm Beach Memorial Gardens.
William Eubanks
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - William Jerome Eubanks, 45, died Tuesday, March 4, 1997, in New York Downtown Hospital after a brief illness.
Born Sept. 8, 1951, he was the son of Marjorie H. Eubanks and the late Hezekiah Eubanks Sr. of Drakes Branch, Va.
He was married
to Elfreida Hardee Eubanks, who survives. He was employed by the Bank of New York and was a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Joyce and Erika Rochelle of the residence; five sisters, Edwina M. Eubanks, Mable E. Scott and Mary E. Brown of Danville, Va., Charlotte E. Davis and Sylvia E. Fertiz of Brooklyn; five brothers, Roscoe M. EubanksSr. and Isaac Eubanks, both of Petersburg, Va., Hezekiah Eubanks Jr. of Drakes Branch, Leroy Eubanks of Clover, Va., and Kermit V. Eubanks of Brooklyn.
A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch.
Loueberta Fitzgerald
CHATHAM - Loueberta Fitzgerald, 71, of 432 Hodnett Mill Road, died Wednesday night, March 5, at her home.
Born Aug. 25, 1925, in Chester, Pa., she was the daughter of Berkley Clarke and Lillie Grubb Clarke.
She was married
to Sammie Toy Fitzgerald, who predeceased her. She was a member of Greater Triumph Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Sammie Fitzgerald Jr. of Bridgeport, Conn., and Bryant Fitzgerald of Martinsville; two daughters, Emma Bennett and Gloria Hicks, both of Chatham; two sisters, Virgie Douglas of Pennsgrove, N.J., and Julia Giles of Washington, D.C.; one stepsister, Hallie Lytes of Philadelphia; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday from Greater Triumph Missionary Baptist Church by Dr. H.G. McGhee. Burial will be in Hill Crest Memorial Park.

Miles Poindexter II
Miles Poindexter II, 86, of 177 Confederate Ave., died Saturday, March 8, 1997, in Piney Forest Health Care Center.
Born Nov. 11, 1910, in Greenlee, he was the son of George Fauntleroy Poindexter and Susie Williamson Poindexter.
He received his law degree and was a graduate of the University of Virginia. He was retired from American National Bank & Trust Co. as senior vice president and head of the trust department.
Poindexter attended the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, where he served twice on the vestry. He was a former member of the Host Lions Club, was a member of the Men's Horticulture Society, the Westbrook Society and the Young Men's Club.
He was married
to Ellen Jane Poindexter.
Survivors include a son, Miles Poindexter III of Fort George, Fla.; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Episcopal Church of the Ephiphany by the Rev. James W. Mathieson.

Frank Joyce
GRETNA - Frank Edwin Joyce, 78, of 284 Windy Road, died Sunday, March 9, 1997, in Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 11, 1919, in Patrick County, he was a son of Walter C. Joyce and Ida Hopkins Joyce.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Oscar Joyce, Rufus Joyce and Andrew Joyce.
He was the retired owner of Frank Joyce Lumber Co., and a member of The First Baptist Church, Gretna.
He was also a member of Gretna Lions Club and the Central Virginia Chapter AX POW. During World War II, while he served in the U.S. Army, he was a prisoner of war for 27 months.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Law Joyce of the residence; and five sisters, Lizzie Spencer of Preston, Mae Cassell and Dove Joyce both of Bassett, and Hazel Powers and Frances Foley both of Collinsville.
The funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at The First Baptist Church of Gretna by the Rev. Glenn Graves and the Rev. W.D. Lilly. Interment
will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the residence.

Dorothy Turner
Dorothy Graber Turner, 92, of 483 Hawthorne Drive, died Sunday, March9, 1997, at Roman Eagle Memorial Home.
Born Nov. 21, 1904, in Gretna, she was the daughter of Frank Irvine Graber and Ida Rangeley Graber.
She was a graduate of Chatham Hall and St. Mary's Junior College.
She was a member of Episcopal Church of the Epiphany and the Garden Club of Danville, and was a former member of The Danville Golf Club and the Wednesday Club.
In 1927, she was married
to Anderson Banks Turner, who is predeceased.
Survivors include one son, Dr. Frank Graber Turner of Danville; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday in Highland Burial Park by the Rev. James Mathieson.
The family will receive friends at the home of her son, Dr. Frank Turner, 483 Hawthorne Drive.
