Kenneth R. Lewis
Kenneth Richard Lewis, 46, of Woodbridge, died Thursday, May 23, 2002, at his residence. He owned and operated ACE German Auto and had lived in Woodbridge since the late 1980s. He was an avid fan of hot rods and Volkswagens who participated in the Bugout. He is survived by two brothers, David Lewis of Florida and Glenn Lewis of Colorado; two sisters, Barbara Hammond and Gail Bevilaqua, both of Massachusetts; and a special friend, Barbara Procario of Woodbridge. Helen M. Polk
Helen Madeline Polk, 97, of Manassas, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at Prince William Hospital in Manassas. She was a longtime member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Centereach, N.Y. Her hobbies included working on puzzles, knitting and watching soap operas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Paul Polk. She is survived by two daughters, Veronica Beatty of Centereach and Dorothy Collora of Stafford; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. William of York Catholic Church, 3130 Jefferson Davis Highway, Stafford, with the Rev. Raul Eversole officiating. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle.

Emory Powers
Emory Powers, 80, of Marshall, formerly of Manassas, died Saturday, May 25, 2002, at Prince William Hospital in Manassas. He was born Aug. 19, 1921, in Wise County. He was a member of Yorkshire Freewill Baptist Church, Manassas, where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Robert A. Powers and Elizabeth Yates; and his wife of 59 years, Nannie E. Powers. He is survived by two sons, Rodney Dewey Powers and wife, Pat, of Upperville, and Roger and wife, Delores, of Marshall; one sister, Mary Saylers of Manassas; five grandchildren, Teresa Hart, Sheral Morris, Wayne Powers, Tiffinie Powers and Johnny Powers; and four great-grandchildren, Missy Morris, Emily Morris, Joey Hart and Cody Hart. The family will receive friends from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Yorkshire Freewill Baptist Church, 7620 Chestnut St., Manassas, where services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Lonnie D. Salyers and the Rev. Lester Horton officiating. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas. Arrangements are by Price Funeral Home, Manassas.

Nestor A. Cruz
Nestor Alberto Cruz, 30, of Springfield, died Saturday, May 25, 2002, at Fairfax Hospital as a result of injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident. A resident of Northern Virginia for more than 15 years, he was an auto mechanic for Don Beyer Volvo of Falls Church. Survivors include his wife, Rosa Marquina-Cruz of the home; one daughter, Laura E. Cruz, also of the home; his parents, Ramone and Leopoldina Cruz of Nicaragua; one brother, Juan Cruz of Nicaragua; one sister, Janet Cruz of Nicaragua; and his grandmother, Esperancza Cruz of Nicaragua; and one sister, Marivel Cruz of Spain. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8710 Mount Vernon Highway, Alexandria, with the Rev. Edith V. Gallahan
Edith Vivian Gallahan, 68, of Stafford, died Monday, May 27, 2002, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg. He was a dry cleaner at Quantico Marine Corps base. Survivors include her husband, Ernest L. Gallahan; three daughters, Janet Hilton and Linda Durrance, both of Stafford, and Kathy Hall of Arvada, Colo.; four sisters, Lillian Talley of Cape May, N.J., Kelsie Jung of Milwaukee, Wis., Katherine Bolognese of Quantico and Anna Roles of Reedsville; three brothers, Robert Dickerson of Stafford, Lindsey Dickerson of Sparta and John Dickerson of Orange County; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mullins & Thompson Stafford chapel, where services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mark A. Miller officiating. Marvin L. Kennaugh Sr.
Marvin Lee Kennaugh Sr., 73, of Alexandria, died Saturday, May 25, 2002, at Sudley Manor House, Manassas. He graduated from Dixon High School in Dixon, Ill., in June 1946, and from the U.S. Army Engineer Topographical Survey School at Ft. Belvoir in April 1947. He entered the Army on Sept. 3, 1946, at Ft. Sheridan in Chicago. He served at numerous stateside posts, including Ft. Belvoir, and overseas in Japan, the Philippines, Korea, Germany, Thailand and Vietnam. He retired as a master sergeant on Aug. 31, 1973. During his service, he was awarded the Bronze Star, two Joint Service Commendation medals and three Army Commendation medals. After the military, he worked for the U.S. Department of the Army, Enlisted Personnel Management Directorate, Federal Civil Service from Oct. 17, 1976, until his retirement on May 31, 1994. He was preceded in death by his wife, Soledad "Choly" Pinano Kennaugh on Nov. 18, 1995. Survivors include three sons, Dennis L. Kennaugh of Venice, Fla., Scott L. Kennaugh of Haymarket and Marvin L. Kennaugh Jr. of Centreville; one brother, John H. Kennaugh of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and six grandchildren, Cecelia Hyslop, Ryan Kennaugh, Stephanie Kennaugh, Taylor Kennaugh, Jonathan Kennaugh, and Matthew Kennaugh. The family will receive friends form 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Price Funeral Home, 9609 Center St., Manassas. Services will be held 3 p.m. June 26 at Ft. Myer Old Post Chapel, Arlington. Earle "Butch" S. White
Earle "Butch" Stanley White, 57, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, May 27, 2002, at his home. He was a surveyor for Pat Harris Russ Associates. He was a member of Peace United Methodist Church, Moose Lodge 1655 in Fredericksburg, a charter member of the Eagles Lodge in Fredericksburg, and a lifetime member of the Chancellor Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Wilma Jean White of Fredericksburg; one son, Raymond Earl Milton White of Fredericksburg; five stepdaughters, Tina Thomas Kolodziej of Spotsylvania, Teresa Anderson of Dale City, Kimberly Crawn of Dayton, Martha Fridley of Greenville and Sharon Reed of West Virginia; two stepsons, Calvin Ray Shifflett Jr. of Harrisonburg and Brian O'Neil Shifflett of Elton; four sisters, Lorraine Forness of Arlington, Loretta Hicks of Dumfries, Pat Punke of Woodbridge and Roberta Richards of Georgia; one brother, Jack White of Boston; and 13 grandchildren. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 p.m. with a Moose service at 8 p.m. at Mullins & Thompson Fredericksburg Chapel, where services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Barry Throckmorton officiating. Burial will follow at Bacon Race Cemetery. Preston Arnold Jr.
Preston Lee Arnold Jr., 42, of Woodbridge, died Monday, May 27, 2002, at Potomac Hospital in Woodbridge. He was a lifelong resident of Prince William County, a member of the National Rifle Association and he loved to fish and hunt. Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Arnold; three daughters, Kristin Leanne Arnold, Elizabeth May Arnold and Melissa Lynn Arnold, all of Woodbridge; his son, Preston Lee Arnold III of Woodbridge; and a sister, Sandra McCall of Ohio. Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are by Mountcastle Funeral Home, Woodbridge.

Catherine C. Kinnick
Catherine Cebula Kinnick, 92, of Manassas, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at Annaburg Manor in Manassas. Born Oct. 3, 1909, in Millers Farm, Pa. She worked for the Chrysler Corporation for 26 years in Detroit before returning to Manassas. She was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church and was a past historian of Sacred Heart Senior Club and a volunteer at Coles Elementary School Library. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Kinnick. Survivors include three sisters, Anne Kelechech of Valdosta, Ga., Margaret Sabol of Lakewood, N.J., and Betty Kedzo of Manassas; and 16 nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. today at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, 6719 Token Valley Road, Manassas. Interment will be in St. Mary's Church Cemetery. Arrangements are by Mountcastle Funeral Home, Woodbridge.

Randolph G. Henderson
Randolph G. Henderson, 75, of Dumfries, died Monday, May 28, 2002, at Hospice of Northern Virginia in Arlington. He was a member of Star of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Triangle. He is survived by his wife, Evelenia E. Henderson of Dumfries; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Carter of Woodbridge; two sisters, Mabel Tuell of Dumfries and Famie Roundtree of Silver Spring, Md.; one brother, Ronnie Henderson of Dumfries; two grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Star of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 19068 Bethlehem Church Road, Triangle, where services will follow at noon with the Rev. Eloise B. Nelson (Lukasik)
Eloise Bennett Nelson (Lukasik), 79, of Triangle died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. A former resident of Virginia Beach, she had been a resident of Prince William County for more than 22 years. She loved reading, gardening and bird watching. Survivors include her husband, Albert E. Lukasik of Triangle; two sons, Lee D. Nelson of Springfield and Ranson Nelson of Fredericksburg; and two grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 13318 Occoquan Road, Woodbridge, with prayers at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 18825 Fuller Heights Road, Triangle. William S. Pinder
William Sylvester Pinder, 70, of Stafford County, died Friday, May 31, 2002, at Beverly Health Care Center in Fredericksburg. Arrangements are by Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service of Fredericksburg.

Andrew F. Clements
Maj. Andrew Franklin Clements, U.S. Army, 35, died Sunday, May 26, 2002, in Webber Falls, Okla. He was born in York, Pa., and graduated from Stuttgart American High School, Germany in 1985. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1985 and was later commissioned from the United States Military Academy, West Point, into the field artillery in 1991. In 2002, he received a master's degree of science in management, graduating with distinction. He was en route to his new assignment in Alexandria when he died. His military assignments include Fort Sill, Okla.; Germany; and Monterey, Calif. He is survived by his wife, Nicole S. Clements; two daughters, Alexandra Galbraith and Christina Clements; two sons, Michael Clements and Andrew Clements; his mother, Sandra Lambson; his father, Ronald Clements; one sister, Ronda Crowell; and one brother, Ronald Blood Jr. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fort Myer Memorial Chapel, Arlington. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery.

Hillary M. Robinette
Hillary Martin Robinette, 67, died of cancer on Saturday, June 1, 2002, at his home. He was born on December 5, 1934, in Philadelphia. He graduated from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia after five years in formation with the Maryland Provenance of the Society of Jesus. He graduate from the U.S. Navy Officer's Candidate School in Newport, R.I., as an ensign in 1958. He served on destroyers out of Newport, R.I. and Norfolk, including a tour on the USS Haynesworth during the Cuban missile crisis. Tours followed as a naval instructor at Brown University, in-country advisor to the Vietnamese riverine force and flag secretary to Admiral Ward in Saigon. During his service in Vietnam, he earned a Bronze Star with Combat V. He returned to the Vietnamese conflict as captain of the minesweeper USS Inflict. His final assignment was to Mare Island in Vallejo, Calif. He left the United States Navy as a lieutenant commander. He reported for new agent training for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in October 1969. He was appointed as a special agent and assigned to his first office in Dallas followed by three years in Toledo, Ohio, and then as senior resident agent in Lima, Ohio, for seven years. During this time, he earned a master's degree in business administration from the University of Dayton. In 1980, he became an instructor in the Management Unit of the FBI Academy in Quantico. During his tenure at the academy, he served as an exchange professor at the British Police College at Bramshill, Hampshire, Great Britain. He was awarded the prestigious Jefferson Award by the Darden School of Business of the University of Virginia. The award was recognition for his book, "Burn Out in Blue: Managing the Police Marginal Performer," which has been adopted as a text by criminal justice courses throughout the country. He was an adjunct professor for the University of Virginia. As a police instructor, he received national and international honors and awards from a variety of police departments and law enforcement associations. Upon his retirement from the FBI in 1989, he established Quantico Group Associates, as police management training company. He was a member of the Quantico chapter of the Society of Former Special Agents FBI and served as chairman, secretary and treasurer and also member of the Washington, D.C., chapter. He was also a member of the membership committee of the national organization. In 1996, he was selected as editor of "The Grapevine," the national magazine for the society. At the national convention in September, 2001, he received a special award for distinguished service to the Society. He retired from this position in December 2001 for health reasons. He was active in the Prince William Regional Chamber of Commerce, serving on the board of directors, including the position of secretary and chairman of the Valor Awards Committee. He was an at-large member of the board of the Adult Detention Center, appointed by Supervisor Maureen Caddigan, and served as chairman for four years, for which he was honored by the Board of County Supervisors. He was an active member and lector for the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, also served as a member of the Capital Campaign Committee. He was a member of the American Legion FBI Post 56 and a member of the Virginia Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, George Washington Chapter. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Robinette; his mother, Adele Robinette of Sun City, Ariz.; one sister, Christine Robinette of Idaho Springs, Colo.; and eight children, Hillary Robinette of Atlanta, Gregory Robinette, Rosemary Randolph and Matthew Robinette, all of Norfolk, Cordelia Robinette and Benedict Robinette, both of Virginia Beach, Amelia Robinette of Falls Church, and John Robinette of Vienna; and ten grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Mountcastle Funeral Home, Dale Boulevard, Dale City. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Triangle. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery.
